  1. QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 16, 2016 -> 05:47 AM) our system is hot garbage Bring up Micker Adolfo.

I would rather sign Johnny Manziel and make him the starting shortstop than have Pablo on the White Sox.
  3. Everyone's favorite ex-Sox, Swisher, signed by Yanks to minor league deal.
  4. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Apr 13, 2016 -> 11:06 AM) Sounds like Engel could get called up during the stretch run if the Sox need a pinch runner or defensive replacement. Mike, I don't hear it.
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 8, 2016 -> 08:03 AM) The school of Charley Lau turned out Frank Thomas. When did Frank start hitting with the Charlie Lau style of swing? He didn't have it at the beginning of his Sox career did he?
  6. Micah Johnson just recalled by Dodgers.
  7. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 9, 2016 -> 07:07 PM) Aumont poops one away. Three, count 'em, three wild pitches in one inning. Hard to do.
  8. Water seeks its own level.
  9. QUOTE (LDF @ Apr 7, 2016 -> 04:34 AM) there is a prospect who, imo deserves some chatter is May, he really impress me with his range and defense. i would really like to see positiveness from him as this summer. the system is looking good. New word. Thanks.
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 6, 2016 -> 08:46 PM) It was the right move, even if it didn't work out. The players we gave up are low ceiling guys, and we got the best player in the deal. Heck, we pretty much made the same deal again to get Todd Frazier, and again it was a good deal. What I am saying is the extra draft pick could be huge for a team that need more young and cost controlled talent in this system. Remember Spencer Adams that has set the world on fire was drafted at #44. this is 18 spots ahead of that. Not sure the Frazier trade is a valid comparison. Frazier filled a gaping hole on the White Sox. A Gaping hole at third base. That trade makes sense. Samardzjia, not so much. I call it the Michael Ynoa Trade, because a day or so after the trade Hahn was interviewed, he actually said that he held out for the inclusion of Ynoa. I had to laugh when I heard that, as if he out-negotiated whatshisname at Oakland. Billy just had to clear a roster spot. We gave up a lot more for Shark than we did for Frazier, who is a much better player. Regarding Spencer Adams at # 44 two years ago -- good draft pick, obviously. Lets hope we do as well with #26. Not that we have ever screwed up any high picks in last ten years. But we should get a great prospect with the pick, maybe somebody as promising as Bassitt.
  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 6, 2016 -> 03:00 PM) If we play our cards right, that pick at #26 could be huge to the future of the organization. We will now have $5.5 million to spend in the first 26 picks of the draft. I appreciate your glass being half full and envy your optimism, Southsider. And, yes, we will have approx. $5.5 Large available, as you stated. But, are you trying to put a positive spin on the Michael Ynoa Trade?
  12. Ubaldo Jiminez throws that way, too.
  13. I now refer to our acquisition of Samardzija as the Michael Ynoa trade. We gave up four pretty good prospects for Ynoa and a draft pick next June.
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 6, 2016 -> 08:23 AM) In terms of a guy I am really excited about I would say Carlos Perez, the catcher we signed out of Venezuela last year. He is already making a name for himself by hitting the top rankings of the DSL on BA. He is years and years away, but the early reviews are stellar. Venezuela has become such an under-scouted location because of the collapse of the government and social order there, so the kids coming out of there aren't getting the attention and review they used to even a few short years ago. Perez sounds like he could be a true diamond in the rough. 2 years in DSL. Time for move to AZL? Now 19.
  15. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Apr 6, 2016 -> 05:40 AM) No surprise. Nate certainly isn't going to take many opportunities unless Robertson completely collapses, what with David being the highest paid closer in baseball. Higher than Kimbrel?
  16. This will be a 4 hour game. At least.
  17. Last year at this time Sox were getting trounced in the final ST games, and they got off to a horrible start; this year, much better.
  18. Emilio Bonafacio released today by Atlanta.
  19. So the first time Robin decides to rest Abreu and DH him, someone else will play first, and whoever that slug is, the pitchers will have get about 30-32 outs per game, and Ishy will either be sitting on the Charlotte bench or playing first base there, which means Danny Hayes will be sitting, or Ishy will be somewhere else.
  20. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 31, 2016 -> 09:36 PM) I'll echo that Coats sees MLB time and is probably at least an MLB 4th OF right now. Adding a few of my own... --Kannapolis has a huge season, especially on offense, led by Johan Cruz, Landon Lassiter and Corey Zangari, all of whom have big years at the plate. --Here's one people will think is nuts: Danny Hayes hits well enough in AAA that he becomes an option as LHH DH/1B option for the big club. Sees Chicago in 2016. --Tim Anderson struggles badly at the plate from mid-April through at least May, probably into June. Slowly adjusts, looks major league ready around end of season, for a September call-up. But ends up being better defensively in 2016 than offensively. --None of the starters in Charlotte (that are currently in the org) look good in AAA, and the team struggles to find someone to bridge to Fulmer. --Some surprisingly good relievers will come from Charlotte, including Aumont and Smith, possibly Wall. --Despite being prospect-laden, the BHAM offense mostly struggles, with only Alvarez and Hawkins looking good there, at least in the first half. --Danish struggles again, begins to slide down lists pretty quickly. --Everyone is looking at Adams and Guerrero in the Dash rotation, but I'll bet Lowry and Thompson put up numbers almost as good. Which is good because the lineup in Winston-Salem looks horrible. --Aaron Bummer pops up as a prospect. I'm with you on Danny Hayes. He should have first base all to himself at Charlotte. Northsider, who do you think is the better first base prospect: Hayes or Rangel Ravelo?
  21. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Apr 1, 2016 -> 10:33 AM) Papa Johns sucks and so does Peyton Manning. Papa John had a huge market share increase in the Denver pizza business due to those obnoxious ads. Unfortunately.

  23. Another testimonial to the brilliance of General Managers.
  24. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 30, 2016 -> 04:55 PM) Saladino' facial hair is beyond weak. It would not play in Miami this year.
  25.
