  1. I never cared for his strikeouts, but about three yrs ago I was at a Rockies/D'backs game, sitting in the front row behind D'backs bench. and saw Reynolds openly sassing (for lack of a better word) his manager, CJ Hinch. I just didn't care for it, even tho I did not know any background.
  2. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Aug 8, 2013 -> 01:36 PM) No big deal, just his 5th team this year. Seattle -> Toronto -> Oakland -> Chicago -> Philadelphia How many more cities can he call home this year? Casper Wells might not make the Hall of Fame, but his suitcase will.
  3. Who comes up, Tekotte or Garcia? If it's Tekotte, he sits on bench; if it's Garcia, he plays.
  4. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Aug 8, 2013 -> 12:28 PM) Mark Reynolds DFAd by the Indians. He's probably the best 3b FA next offseason. You gotta be kidding. Gillaspie is better.
  5. Hawk was just talking about some of our prospects. Besides Semien, he mentioned Webb, Garcia, E Johnson.
  6. QUOTE (beautox @ Aug 5, 2013 -> 08:28 PM) really looking forward to semien, garcia and wilkins getting a sept call up Semien and Wilkins would have to be added to the 40 man roster first. If Sox do that, then they are really serious about having one or both compete for a roster spot in 2014.
  7. Since I've been shooting my mouth off about Hawkins, I'll list my Top 15: 1. Garcia 2. Semien 3. E Johnson 4. M Johnson 5. Rienzo 6. Jacobs 7. Danish 8. C Sanchez 9. Wilkins 10. Snodgrass 11. Webb 12. McCray 13. Ravelo 14. Petricka 15. Beck 16. Anderson No Hawkins, no Trayce, no Barnum. I hope they all prove me wrong.
  8. QUOTE (CWSpalehoseCWS @ Aug 3, 2013 -> 08:07 PM) Nice to Johnson bouncing back from that groin injury. He should be the next guy called up. He at the least deserves a look in September. Petricka should get the call next month, although he is not on the 40 man. I could easily come up with 5-6 pitchers now on the 40 man that probably won't be there next year, so getting roster space should not be a problem.
  9. QUOTE (Andy the Clown @ Aug 3, 2013 -> 10:27 PM) The exception to the rule is a weak argument. A.J. Hinch is a more common outcome. Where did Hinch go after he left Dbacks?
  10. Just read in the Denver Post that Rockies' owner, Dickless Monfort, said that they aggressively tried to acquire Jesse Crain.
  11. Hahn was given kudos by ESPN for his Deadline activity.
  12. Mahtook looks like the antithesis if Rios, and a few others. He must have played with Mitchell.
  13. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Aug 1, 2013 -> 11:30 AM) Sorry but that's just stupid and insane in my opinion. It's not always just about numbers. It's about what a player projects to be and his floor and ceiling. Now could Hawkins completely bust and not make it out of High A? I guess that is possible. It's just as possible that he figures it out and becomes an All Star RF for the White Sox years down the road. He still has the highest ceiling in the entire system. Whether or not he reaches that is up to him but not having him in the top 10-15 prospects in a bottom 5 farm system in baseball is just ludicrous. Stupid, insane, and ludicrous.....I can think of a couple of Sox prospects who, in my opinion, have a better chance of reaching the majors than does Hawkins, and they don't show up on anyone's list. But that's just me. When I see a young player constantly improving, I see a good prospect. Hawkins is doing the opposite, and I don't know why.
  14. QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Aug 1, 2013 -> 11:11 AM) It seems like you are making lists for what someone has done, instead of projecting what they are capable of doing Probably true, Jose. After all, this is a very subjective exercise. I can see the difference between projecting future performance and hoping for future performance. I just wish I had a suggestion on what to do with Hawkins, other than sending him to Kanny three months ago. But that might not have helped either.
  15. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Aug 1, 2013 -> 07:56 AM) Not sure how that can be a serious statement More specifically, he would not be in my top 15.
  16. I still don't see why you guys have Hawkins rated so high. Not even close to top 10 IMO. Fast forward to one year from now.....If he has similar numbers then, will you still rank him in Top Ten? Not me.
  17. Who did his contract? Kenny or Rick?
  18. For those who who don't like the trade, Garcia is at or near the top of our prospect list. He should contribute in 2014.
  19. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 09:53 PM) End is near for Mitchell or Walker. Mitchell currently on the 40 man roster; probably not so next year.
  20. QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 09:52 PM) Makes you wonder about Mitchell, Walker, Thompson and Hawkins' future if they're trading for outfielders like Jacobs and Garcia. What's to wonder?
  21. With Rios hurting himself, does that mean Sox will trade Casper Wells instead?
  22. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 29, 2013 -> 06:15 PM) Well their stats are horrible so there's that. Waiting for the Sox Spin on them.....
  23. QUOTE (jasonxctf @ Jul 29, 2013 -> 06:50 PM) Why would axelrod be the emergency starter if Peavy got traded??? Ax has prob shot his wad as a starter
  24. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 29, 2013 -> 05:48 PM) How about we trade Rios for Pence? Uh, I think Sox are after prospects, position players preferably, not Pence.
