  1. Crain is the modern reliever.....Out of the bullpen -- okay. Come off the bench for a second inning -- no way.
  2. If Sox don't bring him up this year, he will have to be added to the 40 man roster, or he will be gone. Some team will pick him up.
  3. Seems to me like thornton always gives up hits when he goes back out there for another inning.
  4. QUOTE (JPN366 @ May 31, 2012 -> 10:38 PM) The Barons box score is much more depressing. Kussmaul with another strong relief effort.
  5. Did Alexi almost overrun that last pop out in short left, or was I seeing things? If he missed that, two runs prob score, game over.
  6. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ May 30, 2012 -> 12:57 PM) Buster Olney's last tweet insinuates he thinks the pickoff beaning may have been intentional too 'Beaning' means he got hit in the head.
  7. Tampa third baseman had a rough first inning. Don't think the pitcher is too happy with him.
  8. Bottom half of the batting order kicked butt tonight.
  9. QUOTE (Heads22 @ May 29, 2012 -> 06:54 PM) I think you all meant Tanks. Him and Sales are the future of this organization. "Him and Sales" ?? Where did you go to school? Or did you?
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ May 29, 2012 -> 06:30 PM) Boston getting to Verlander! No longer unhittable.
  11. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 29, 2012 -> 05:08 PM) Ha, apparently Cooper snapped on reporters asking pitch count questions about Sale. Something to the effect of "Pitch counts are for people who have never played the game" Lol I have no idea why they make him available to reporters. He's right.
  12. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 28, 2012 -> 09:23 PM) Ravelo's last 10 games, he has 8 hits... all singles. He also has 5 walks, vs 2 K's. Lots of contact, good plate discipline, but little power. That's what they said about Wade Boggs.....
  13. QUOTE (forrestg @ May 28, 2012 -> 11:58 AM) O hudson is on the all star ballot in the nl. I voted for him. i doubt if he wins but what would the rule be as far as being the #1 vote getter for second base in the nl but currently playing in the al. Would they allow him to play for the nl? Why would you vote for him?
  14. QUOTE (Papa Tru @ May 27, 2012 -> 08:36 PM) Does anyone else feel sick to their stomach when you see Gio Gonzalez and then remember we had him TWICE.. ugh Yes!! Especially the second trade. By that time he had already had 3-4 yrs in the minors, and it was obvious he was going to be a big league starting pitcher. His last minor league season with us was 2007 at B'ham. 27 games, all starts, 3.18 ERA, 150 innings, 116 hits, 185 K's. He should have been close to an untouchable prospect, certainly worth a lot more than Swisher. The first trade, for Thome, could be justified at the time. The second trade of Gio to the A's was stupid.
  15. QUOTE (seanjon21 @ May 26, 2012 -> 08:42 PM) Does anybody have any information on the bench clearing brawl against the Carolina Mudcats? Box score indicates Nick Cioli ejected, even tho he was not in lineup.
  16. We face Ubaldo Sunday. If he is wild, we can score a bunch.
  17. Ventura is determined to lose this game. He will not be denied.
  18. Three recent injuries....Petricka, Ravelo, Siemens.
  19. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 26, 2012 -> 06:31 AM) So yeah, we've been able to cover up on the cheap with moves like DeAza, Humber...Quintana would be another example...but we've still got gaping holes (future-wise) at 3B and catcher. I would not be surprised to see AJ come back next year with another two year contract.
  20. I'm surprised attendance has not improved.
  21. I hope we sign the best hitter available, regardless of position.
  22. I saw where Sox former first rounder Royce Ring is with Colorado Springs AAA team (Rockies org.).
  23. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ May 22, 2012 -> 05:34 AM) Per the Tribune: How long does Robin stay with thornton?
  24. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ May 21, 2012 -> 09:15 PM) Has he been questioned on this before or something?? I keep hearing hes a huge sports fan, I got a feeling he can name them all Last year on national TV, he threw out the first pitch at National's game (or tried to), and then he went up the press box for the typical shallow interview. Interviewer (one of the FOX TV guys) remarked about his well known status as a Sox fan. So then the announcer asked him to name his favorite Sox player, and he could not name one. All he could do was "er, ah, a." Then he got out of it by saying he likes the Cubs, too. The announcer let him off the hook.
  25. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 22, 2012 -> 04:56 AM) Lillibridge is on pace to get about 20 less AB than he received last year. He hit some homers last year at a pace he's not ever hit them. I think it was more of a fluke than anything else. Josh Fields is hitting over .300 in AAA. Maybe KW should pick him up, since guys who can't field and haven't hit in the majors in several years but have hit well in AAA seems to be a popular thing. Where is Josh Fields playing?
