  1. O'Neill and his skipper didn't get along.
  2. Is there something wrong with a military background?
  3. I wish Hahn would have negotiated through the media when he was contemplating trading Tatis for a broken down, expensive pitcher,
  4. I'm actually impressed by Getz for showing some restraint. You just know they were gonna try to fleece him. We'll see.
  5. He wasn't very good in his one year as Manager of Rockies, but he did have the class to walk away from his 5-year contract.
  6. >We once had a poster here named Stan Bahnsen. I wonder what happened to him.
  7. I think that Getz is out there talking with GM's and agents about guys who can't play anymore, so that Getz can practice. Kinda like a kid who is just learning how to play the piano, and he's practicing the scales in front of his teacher. Everything is discordant.
  8. So, we are signing over the hill infielders who can't hit, plus we are already stuck with Moncada. Are any of these guys better than Popeye or Ramos? Right now?
  9. Yes. I wish Sox could have hired an experienced pro like Kapler for Asst GM, while Getz is still on his training wheels. Then, he would have been available when they fire Pedro.
  10. What do you want for Cease, another slew of infielders who can't hit? They need pitching, period. Atlanta's top prospects are pitchers. Looks like a good fit to me.
  11. I was there, too. Saw Al Smith's beer bath as a home run sailed into the stands above him.
  12. Here's another thought on a potential Cease trade. Throw in our #1 draft pick mistake Gonzalez! See what Getz can get.
  13. Wow. Thanks. lots of great thrills from that team. I was in high school. Aparicio was an all-time favorite of mine. I just hated the day they traded him to Baltimore.
  14. Sheets should be traded to Cubs.
  15. This signing will do wonders for the morale of Popeye and Sosa, both of whom are almost certainly better players than DeJong. And cheaper.
  16. I'm glad he's gone. Seems to me that every time he was brought into a game in a reasonably high leverage situation, his first hitter was usually a lefty, and Bummer would quickly walk him. Then, he has to face the next two hitters.
