  1. Just read this thread every day for the next 11.5 months.
  2. I wonder what the record is for most DFA's in one season for a player.
  3. Not quite, thanks. I still remember my Dad taking me to a Sox-Browns game in either 1948 or 49. Satchel Paige pitched for the Browns, and he drew a pretty big crowd, as I remember. He did his funny wind up and threw the eephus pitch. Crowd loved it, of course. But the Browns had horrible teams, always in last place. Mickey Mantle was quoted once that after Ned Garver pitched, they had nobody. Back in the 30-s or early 40's they even had a one-armed left fielder.
  4. I tried to listen to Hahn. He is just so full of hot air, and a waste of it.
  5. I wonder how Quero compares to our guy Hackenberg. Any thoughts here?
  6. There have been some really bad teams in my life. I still remember the St. Louis Browns in the 40's. Then there were the Pirates for years in the 50's Baltimore was in the dregs 20 or so years ago. White Sox were there in early 70's. They came back.
  7. She's not very pretty, but she has a lousy personality.
  8. He pulled himself at the end. Said come and get me out of here.
  9. Sports journalism is a mis-nomer. EsPN made them all just a little bit dumber.

Back in 2008, I believe, two players had similar back injuries. One was Todd Helton, who disdained surgery and was out a long time. The other guy was a shortstop who played for Braves and Dodgers, can't remember his name. Very good player. He chose surgery and was back in about 2 months.
  11. I never thought Burger would be this bad of a hitter.
