Reyes certainly has had more HR power, but Sheets might be closing that gap. Difference is not enough to pick up Reyes and do something with Sheets. There are other factors, too. Money is one. Reyes will prob be available next year.
Yes. I said pretty much the same thing here 2-3 years ago and was criticized. I thought back then that Boston took Hahn for a joyride by throwing in Basabe and Diaz. I still remember Bob Ryan of Boston Globe being quoted saying it was a great Boston trade because they kept Devers, who is the one White Sox wanted. Hahn keeps outdoing himself.
After he is DFA'd, he is available on the cheap. We have a lot of bullpen arms that aren't getting much use lately. I'm sure no other team needs outfield defense as much as White Sox.
You're right, it is dumb. It's like they don't want to get into the negotiation business, cuz they want to be pals with the players. Then the player loses his edge. FO should not be afraid of the negotiation process, but they are.
