  1. Mags, what do you mean here? Is it the fact that we often traded international bonus money for low level prospects? If so, I agree that it doesn't make sense.
  2. Even I'm not that cynical. Had to laugh, though.
  3. Sportswriter. I always appreciated his tip.
  4. In 2002 I had an email dialogue with Phil Rodgers, and he suggested I check out SoxTalk, which I did. Loved it from the beginning. Back then there were a few long gone, really good posters, Rex Hudler among them. Back then Jason posted much more often; I wish he still did.
  5. Give money to Yanks and Dodgers? Having a $100,000,000 floor solves a lot of problems, tanking included. If this thing gets too complicated, greed and anger take over and it might not get fixed until mid-summer.
  6. Assume the latter is true. Go ahead, give us your description of his stance in that case.
  7. Each team has a player rep. Strong opinions surely will get heard.
  8. Chick, you probably gave this a lot more thought than Heyman did before he made that tweet/comment. And, you are correct.
  9. 1. I saw a lot of Andruw Jones, and I believe Robert will be a much better hitter. 2. As much as I like Jones as a young player, his moment that I remember most clearly is when Manager Bobby Cox pulled him off the field in the middle of a game for not hustling. How often has that happened? I know Billy Martin did it to Reggie once.
  10. One of my remaining memory cells tells me that Sox received compensation for Ozzie from Miami. Can't remember the name, but it feels like we got a pitcher who could not get hitters out.
  11. I bet they are all reading SoxTalk, just to get some ideas.
  12. Every time I hear Kimbrel's name, I shudder. I would love to have been a fly on Hahn's wall when he was discussing the trade last summer. Here we had an expensive Cub relief pitcher who they obviously did not want or need, and Hahn walked into the void. You would think that Heuer alone would have been more than enough, because Heuer was, in fact, struggling at the time. But no. Hahn wanted to give more, so Madrigal's name got thrown in there. I still wonder if Hahn wanted to give up yet more to the Cubs, but they felt sorry for him and said no, that's enough.
  13. At least Sox got Early Wynn for Minoso and they got a young Sammy Sosa for Baines, but the first Aparicio trade was just plain stupid.
  14. That sound you hear is Judge Kenesaw Landis turning over in his grave.
  15. If Madrigal gets elected to Hall of Fame 20 years from now, will he go in wearing a White Sox cap, or Cubs?
  16. Does MLB hold the 2022 draft if they are still in the work stoppage?
  17. Many veteran players do not like ST, so a settlement will not happen before 3/15, IMO.
  18. Why do so many posters say that Moncada will not move to second?
