  1. We also signed James McCann as a FA, so there are at least two.
  2. So, two of our posters above commented on Sheets' swing. I thought it was a bit loopy also, but then I thought it must have always been that way, because his minor league stats were not overwhelming. I thought then that he probably worked hard to improve it. Of course, I say this without ever seeing him play before this year. Speaking of long, loopy swings, the extreme here is the Dodgers' Cody Bellinger.
  3. This would not surprise me either, for several reasons. 1. For whatever reason, he is somewhat marketable. 2. His nose might be out of joint due to LaRussa being forced on him. 3. Just time for a change. 4. He probably interviews very well.
  4. Sox fans would say he doesn't walk enough. I looked up his trade info, and Miami traded Duval for a journeyman catcher named Alex Jackson. Not sure what Miami/Jeter were thinking.
  5. They also had Smith and Smyly. Just sayin.
  6. You might be right. If they did care, they would have said something about it in previous CB negotiations. Thing is, it would have been so easy and not very expensive for MLB to solve the problem years ago when real estate was cheap in most minor league towns.
  7. Why did Braves skipper not put in a lefty to face Bellinger? Don't get it. Two were on, one out, game on the line, leave him in... Boom.
  8. I missed the last couple of innings, but what was Liam doing out there in the 9th inning?
  9. Wow, had not heard that. If other owners want that, I see a work stoppage.
  10. Sox/Cubs trades seem to be one sided. Sosa, Garland, Quintana, Kimbrel trades all were one sided. Probably others, too.
  11. The shift really hurt White Sox last inning. Two different plays. Sorry if someone else already mentioned it.
  12. Robinson was brought to the White Sox by Frank Lane along with Pierce, Fox, Minoso, and others.
  13. Certainly looks like Sheets has passed both Vaughn and Burger on the Hit Parade.
  14. I love it when someone corrects Southsider.
  15. I think he ended up with 162 this year. Team could have easily prevented that. Kudos to them, at least that's what DK is thinking. Next year will be different, as you just said.
  16. Oh, yeah. But, if Abreu comes up with Tim's throw to first, inning over without runs. And, usually he handles that throw.
  17. Does the old Machado thread still have the SoxTalk record for most posts?
