  1. IF he keeps improving just a little bit, and IF he has no more serious injuries, and IF Sox don't sign another expensive RF free agent, he has as good a chance as anyone to make the team next year. Eloy figures to get a lot of time at DH, and Vaughn figures to get more time at first, Goodwin/Hamilton/Lamb/Leury probably don't figure into this equation, so it's up to Micker to get after it.
  2. I just looked up Ed Howard's stats for the heck of it. He's struggling after 18 games with Low A Myrtle Beach.

Yes. I've always been surprised that NCAA and the networks didn't go this way (double loss elimination) in its basketball tournament. Think of all the extra games/revenue they could get if they did this for the final 8.
  4. Good for White Sox. Good thing they protected him by putting him on the 40 man roster. I'm sure it was not a slam dunk decision.
  5. I always wondered how this narrative got started. I know he opined immediately after the Tatis/Shields trade fiasco, but it was mostly at the expense of Hahn/Williams. Or so I thought.
  6. Yes. I can't believe some of the great sounds you guys come with here, and it always fits. Classical Gas. Yes.
  7. I wonder what spin rate is required for overhand delivery to literally cause the fast ball to rise. If it can.
  8. People on this board, including myownself, use injuries to key players as an excuse. I hope the 26 players and staff do not, because then Sox are history.
  9. I saw Kopech playing Long Toss in outfield prior to yesterday's game. Looked good.
  10. Dick, Madrigal caused his own injury by over stretching trying to hit first base. I never saw Engel's injury. I saw Robert's injury, and you might have a point there.
  11. You are correct. He did play for 2 teams in Pecos League in 2014, and he hit like crazy. So Tray was making a legitimate post. Kyyle jumped the gun and over-reacted by using the race card. Case closed.
  12. And, some people don't want to trade him.
  13. Good stuff, SSHM. Enjoyed it.
  14. Another sign of Cubs Intelligencia.
  15. They should look into moving to Denver. Denver is a great baseball town and could support two teams, just like Chicago. Plus, the stadium is already there.
  16. Quin, your response is too simplistic. Everybody knew Shields was damaged goods; he couldn't get anybody out in his last few pre-trade starts. What we don't know is how the dialogue went down between the two GM's. Hahn got hoodwinked, or worse.
