  1. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 12:12 AM) Why can't the Ozzie haters say at least, "Thanks for the memories." I would think that will come in coming days or months. The man is not evil, folks. You can't take away 2005. And our favorite team's failures are not all on this man. Give him his props, please. Or consider doing so. See: My appreciation thread.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 26, 2011 -> 11:20 PM) I wish the Ozzie supporters on here would be as classy as their idol was tonight. Ozzie's gone, KW is still here. Is KW the problem? Quite possibly yes, but trust me when I say he won't continue to stay in his position the next few years if the team continues to falter.
  3. Stop making this f***ing thread about KW. Go make another thread damnit. You guys lost the battle, the war, and are now defacing the memorial of your own soldier.
  4. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 26, 2011 -> 10:21 PM) Ozzie had nothing to do with 2005. It's pretty easy to sit back and allow your starters, acquired by your GM, to just pitch you through the playoffs. Good riddance, Ozzie! Come on Milk...
  5. QUOTE (VictoryMC98 @ Sep 26, 2011 -> 09:22 PM) I don't get why you don't think he is humbled
  6. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Sep 26, 2011 -> 09:18 PM) HELL NO!!! I'd rather keep Ozzie than either of those guys.
  7. QUOTE (VictoryMC98 @ Sep 26, 2011 -> 09:14 PM) Ozzie is the best Manager this franchise has had in the last 50 years. And this is the worst day of any White Sox Fans life... The only people that are happy are Cubs Fans ALC non-White Sox fans Jay Marrotti. Could you not ruin a thread that's trying to appreciate the guy by trying to incite people? And man, I think Ozzie will be back, that Florida will be humbling for him. And if he really is humbled, I'll welcome him back with open arms.
  8. Today, is a sad day. Ozzie resigning should be sad, it's a good baseball move, but I'm saddened by it. The man is responsible for some of the happiest moments of my life and also some of the most frustrating. But those joyous ones will always be with me. It's sad that the situation deteriorated to the point where the greatest manager in Sox history, became a parody and shadow of himself, obsessed with Ozzieball, imposing his will, and sustaining a senseless pissing contest. And his son didn't help at all. But despite all that, here's to you Ozzie, it was a hell of a few years and then it was hell for a few years. But most importantly, the good memories, they'll always stay.
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 26, 2011 -> 07:21 PM) Totally FWIW White Sox Rumors - MLBTradeRumors.com Dan Bernstein of 670 The Score just reported that his sources indicate the seeds have already been set for Ozzie to be traded to the Marlins. He reports that Ozzie and his wife were at the UC today to meet with Reinsdorf and its only a matter of time before his sources believe the announcement is made that Ozzie is headed (traded) to the Marlins. He went on to discuss his source referencing Don Cooper as a favorite of KW's, and is likely to be retained. White Sox Rumors - MLBTradeRumors.com Front Office Notes: KW says the sox have not had any organizational meetings yet Interesting....
  10. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 26, 2011 -> 12:47 PM) I'm sure there's plenty we don't know, but that does not look good for Lackey. This.
  11. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Sep 26, 2011 -> 12:45 PM) On March 27, 2011 I wrote: You replied to me Quinarvy!! Well s***, I retract the soup nazi. Props.
  12. I hate Michael Lewis, Nick Swisher, Billy Beane, and the Oakland Athletics. Ugh.
  13. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Sep 26, 2011 -> 11:21 AM) Where's my props for calling this a mediocre team before the season started? This, in the face of many 90-win predictions on the board. Honestly, despite your join date, I've never seen you post before the past month. So, no props for you!
  14. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 26, 2011 -> 02:15 AM) Oh my goodnezz. this reminds me of the time when my buddy quinarye jack-knifed vixtory mc88 in the buttocks and let him live aferwards. and i like greg. i really do. greg knows this. but we harnor no particular feelings when it coes to ozzie. hje know this. i hate ozzie like i hate republicans and then how i hate people are famous for being famous. i can't tand it and i will put an end to it vrry soon. Based off this post, I would smile of J4L walked into a bar. I want him as manager.
  15. QUOTE (danman31 @ Sep 26, 2011 -> 12:21 AM) I don't get it. The 'safe' arms everyone refers to were pitchers with good control and multiple pitches, but low velocity fastballs. With Poreda and Sale the Sox took high velocity arms with a lot of talent. That stigma should be gone by now. Meaning safe picks ended up busting real hard, thus, weren't safe.
  16. QUOTE (danman31 @ Sep 25, 2011 -> 06:57 PM) It was 2001 so ha! And the Sox don't take "safe bet arms" anymore. McCulloch was 5 years ago. Fixed.
  17. QUOTE (Tex @ Sep 25, 2011 -> 06:51 PM) Not so much big, more like abstruse, recondite, or even inscrutable. I see what you did there...
  18. QUOTE (Wanne @ Sep 25, 2011 -> 07:11 PM) I'd be surprised if Boston let him go. If they did...I'd much rather have him than a few names I've heard. MUCH more than Larussa btw...but neither are available right now.
  19. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 25, 2011 -> 05:37 PM) Ron Turner was clearly the problem with the Bears offense. This is extreme grasping for straws. Turner was awful.
  20. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 25, 2011 -> 04:54 PM) I would love to grab a stud SS early on. Or a stud pitching prospect, possibly someone who slides that wants lots of green. Or any stud prospect.
