  1. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Sep 9, 2011 -> 07:36 PM) I enjoy how the author of that article says the towers were reduced to rumble. You truly are heartless.
  2. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Sep 9, 2011 -> 07:39 PM) De Aza and Viciedo suck. God, so awful. We should never have mace room in the lineup for them.
  3. www.ocregister.com/sports/angels-316308-day-going.html Good write up.
  4. QUOTE (robinventura23 @ Sep 9, 2011 -> 01:12 PM) http://www.chicagoreader.com/Bleader/archi.../09/pay-by-play If it keeps ads off uniforms and the playing field (other than walgreens on the OF wall.and backstop) I can live with it.
  5. QUOTE (MattZakrowski @ Sep 9, 2011 -> 10:55 AM) You can re-download anything you purchase on PSN, so you can at least get these back. Old PSN account that was hacked (before it was cool) and banned. But called Gopher Mods today, because my NBA 2k11 was missing. They said they actually had to call me, my PS3's parts had a switch up, so they still have my HDD, game, and other parts and apparently it still might be fixable. They sent me a new shipping label.
  6. QUOTE (VictoryMC98 @ Sep 9, 2011 -> 12:08 PM) Here is my question, how much does a hitting coach matter, versus talent. How much was made of Cubs getting the Texas hitting coach last year... And then did they hit? Did he really matter that much? And did Texas hurt from losing the guy? Then we can fire Greg Walker to make a change, because obviously we will not get better or worse. A lot of the Cubs have decent approaches at the plate. It's their non-Garza pitching and lack of clutch hitting that hurts them. The three guys on our roster who haven't spent a lot of time with Walker have our best approaches after Paulie. In fact, if hitting coaches don't matter fire him because he is a waste of resources.
  7. Four of the worst six hitters and our hitting coacb can't be fired. We owe Morel and Beckham another chance with a real hitting coach.
  8. QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 9, 2011 -> 12:54 AM) In related news Last Friday night Paul Konerko hit some shots Adam Dunn struck out a lot Think we lost but I forgot Last Friday night You can put it on the board It's too bad that we can't score This team makes me really bored Last Friday night Buehrle was on the mark Viciedo caused a spark Alex Rios sucks a lot Last Friday Night I don't know what game I saw Please make the suckage stop BOOOOOOO-OH-OH This Friday night Watch them suck again... This Friday night Oh not this s*** again... You brilliant, inglorious bastard.
  9. QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ Sep 9, 2011 -> 01:12 AM) damn even if its already formatted? only time I've messed with the hard drive is when i put a 1 TB hard drive into my launch ps3 and of course i was asked to format Yup. It's quite possibly the dumbest thing in video game console design ever.
  10. QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ Sep 9, 2011 -> 12:10 AM) If I'm reading what you're saying correctly, you could just take the hard drive out and put it into a new PS3 if you buy one and you will still have all your goodies on it If only. Sony really f***ing hates that though, so if I do that, it'll wipe my hard drive. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Sep 9, 2011 -> 12:42 AM) You can't even get the controller to recognize when you have it plugged in through the USB cord? Man, that sucks. You really need to find a way to get your saves off that baby. I COULD replace the motherboard, but that's expensive and I have no electronics knowledge. Still an option. I'm losing two things ultimately, the ability to play my PS2 games and about $50 worth of RB songs I downloaded when RB1 came out. But if I ever feel the want to go get those, I can bite the bullet (I don't even have my RB controllers with me at college and I rarely play the old songs now with the keyboard anyway). The PS2 games are a different matter. I own 7 of them and none of them are in PS2 Classics. The Jak & Daxter Games and the Kingdom Hearts Games. I COULD send it to Sony and pray to god they send me back the same system and not a refurbished one. But even refurbished one, I'd still get to play my PS2 games. But if I send it to them and get a refurbished one, I'm f***ed. Also, if they take my HDD and don't replace it, I'm f***ed (A 250 GB that I put in on my own). But as for the saves...only one that will hurt is Dragon Age because I haven't gotten through it. Don't get me wrong, the Fallouts, Oblivion, ModNation, LBP, Uncharteds, Assassin's Creeds, inFamouses, MGS4, etc. will all suck to lose. Badly. But now I can go back and relive those adventures, which is the reason I kept these discs in the first place. I had already planned on going back through Mass Effect 2, but the problem is figuring out how to recreate the damn face. But f*** going back through NBA 2k11 and MLB: 10 The Show. I'll wait for NBA 2k12 and the next MLB game I'd like, because f*** the my player modes whenever Scott Skiles and Tony LaRussa are my coaches. So now the question is do I want to send Sony my PS3 for $150 and have a small chance of getting MINE back and the ability to play PS2 games or do I want to spend $250 for a new PS3 slim and probably $30 for a PS2. I'm leaning toward sending it in and getting a refurbished Fat PS3, for the PS2 games. But if they keep the HDD and give me a 60 GB, forget it. I'm not gonna spend more for less ultimately.
  11. He'll be our 4th OF/Back up 1st next year. I can honestly see him learning some catching too, to allow Flowers/AJ DHing situations. Hell of a season by Frodo, and I wish him naught but the best.
  12. f***. So, my PS3 turns on now, but I can't get controllers or my PSP to sync up with it. I really don't want to lose all my saves. The big ones would be games like Mass Effect and Dragon Age, since they carry over and I dumped hours into them. Basically, my one option now is trying to find a motherboard replacement service. Anyone know of any? Or should I just give up in this endeavor and feel like a moron for not backing up my PS3 like once a month. I feel like I'm about to feel stupid.
  13. I was sick, 3rd grade. Was leaving my dad's office to go to my grandma's when on Mike and Mike, Greeny said what happened. I didn't understand the gravity of that day until later in the day. I didn't know the World Trade Center buildings, terrorists, etc. existed. Then, my innocence died. And I cried.
  14. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Sep 8, 2011 -> 03:20 PM) It's like saying a guy was employee of the month once, but in the year since he's been late 6 times, called off 5 times, and been asleep at his desk a few times...oh, and he makes an ass of himself with loud, obnoxious behavior with customers. But, you know, that employee of the month plaque buys him more time. Give me a break. +1000000000
  15. QUOTE (LVSoxFan @ Sep 8, 2011 -> 02:29 PM) You know what would be fun, to go back and find all the pre-season predictions to see where everybody had us. I had us as a complete team, built to take on the Red Sox in the ALCS, because we had the makings of a dynamite rotation, a good offense (ha!) and bullpen, whereas Boston just had the holy-f***-offense. The worst part? Had any of Morel, Beckham, Rios, or (especially) Dunn performed not abysmally with the bat, we'd be right there, ready to take on the BoSox or Yankees.
  16. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 8, 2011 -> 01:33 PM) You have a way with words. I try.
  17. Because those of us that follow this team more than anyone else, know less about this team than anyone else.
  18. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Sep 8, 2011 -> 11:16 AM) Well, you're likely going to have to clear more payroll than just Danks to resign Buehrle. Aside from the bad contracts, the 2013 rotation is the biggest issue facing this team. Nah, that's the 2012 and 2013 offenses.
  19. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Sep 8, 2011 -> 10:55 AM) You must be the type that never plans for the future. No I do, but I plan on what job I'll have in a few years, not for the zombie apocalypse. The 2013 rotation has a good pitcher written in, a lefty with insane stuff, and two question marks who show potential. My guess is Buehrle will be there as well. And whoever we get for Danks.
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 8, 2011 -> 08:04 AM) ESPNStatsInfo ESPN Stats & Info Jose Bautista stole home Wed. Who was the last 40-HR player to steal home in the same season? #Elias; Answer: Adam Dunn in 2004 f*** our lives.
  21. He'll be well received in Florida with Ozzie if thats the case. His iron man s*** would be impressive, if he had pop or defensive skills.
