  1. Verlander and Gonzalez should be the MVP front runners.
  2. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 26, 2011 -> 04:12 PM) I think it's interesting, you have these three underperforming guys: Dunn, Rios and Beckham. In each case, something suggests they will turn it around, so, which is most likely? Least likely? --Dunn has a long major league history of getting it done at the plate, regardless of poor technique or athleticism. --Rios has long been lauded for having high end tools and talent, but not necessarily results. --Beckham rocketed all the way to the majors in a year and succeeded briefly at each level, but has since failed to adjust consistently. Which of the three is most and least likely to pull it out in 2012? No poll, just looking for what people think on this. Gordon, if we get a new hitting coach.
  3. JAKE PITCH FIVE INNINGS GOOD. PITCH ONE INNING BAD. YELL.

  5. f***. Here's hoping it dies down ASAP.
  6. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 25, 2011 -> 12:03 PM) Knowing the White Sox, we'll trade Viciedo, Kuhn and Reed for one month of Kubel (after we're already basically out of the race). Then, after trading Quentin, not have any outfielders who deserve to be starting heading in 2012. Do they really think any White Sox fans are going to turn out to see Jason Kubel play? If anything, it would be a totally uncomfortable situation for Jason...knowing he wouldn't be sticking around after September, playing for a rival and having about a 2% chance to make the playoffs. GMAFB caulfield. You know just as well as I do that KW loves Viciedo and won't part with him easily, yet you always say we're gonna trade him for anything.
  7. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 25, 2011 -> 07:53 PM) Yes, the geniuses at ESPN decided to post idiocy today. http://espn.go.com/espn/commentary/story/_...l-espn-magazine He looks like David from 90210. That may be the worst article I've ever read.
  8. QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 25, 2011 -> 09:31 PM) Thome is a saint for going back there after the way that fanbase has treated hm since he left. +AdamDunnsCurrentStrikeoutTotal
  9. QUOTE (Whitewashed in '05 @ Aug 25, 2011 -> 09:14 PM) Not that I didn't root for him, but he's been in that situation for 1.5 yrs in my book. I mean in what we'll be his final shot at a WS ring. I wish he could have got to the Phillies.
  10. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 25, 2011 -> 08:06 PM) Buster_ESPNBuster Olney Jim Thome has accepted a deal to the Indians I don't like a situation where I can't root for Jim Thome.

    QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 25, 2011 -> 08:54 PM) Are you joking? It's not in green. Assuming you are serious, mental issues? WTF? Yes, he's probably going up scared or trying his hardest to not strike out...and that puts pressure on him and he can't just play baseball like it naturally came to him.
  12. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 25, 2011 -> 04:44 PM) ...? Is that a white Michael Vick?
  13. I'm joining the camp that Dayan isn't up because Kenny knows Ozzie won't play him. Look at De Aza, he's done nothing but produce...but Rios remains in center. Flowers has been hitting well...AJ will be back to hitting singles galore. Whenever Morel has a good night...benched the next. Other than Gordon, I have never seen Ozzie put a young guy in position to succeed.
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 24, 2011 -> 06:54 PM) The single greatest moment of my sports watching life. That was the moment where 05 became real and stopped being a dream.
  15. A package slightly worse than the Garza one.
  16. If we get Thome, we better go on the craziest post season run ever for the big guy.
  17. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Aug 24, 2011 -> 01:13 PM) Aging like a fine wine. The guy rocks. I'm thinking the WS Grand Slam, at the point of contact, should be the concourse statue. That or the fist pump. If Paulie gets to 2500 hits and 500 HR, he has to get in because how many clean 500 HR guys haven't got in?
  18. Next years OF: Morrison, De Aza, Viciedo
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 23, 2011 -> 11:48 PM) So why didn't Ozzie pull Frasor for Thornton? Aybar's going to be on 2nd base in no time now. YOU DA FOCKING MANAYER?! NO.
  20. Bad read by De Aza, great throw. I want him in the OF next year along with Dayan.
