  1. http://www.thedetroitsportssite.com/2011/0...k-to-bulls/1811 Detroit sites picked up Doug Thonus' article. And Ray Allen basically had the same DRtg as BG, BG was built when he was here, and he is a hardworking, coachable guy. TT could fix him. Plus, if he's coming off the bench with Watson/8th pick (I still say Morris)/Taj/Asik, he won't look nearly as bad defensively. Plus, while I like Korver, Ben was an assassin with the Bulls. The UConn Shootout was one of the best games I've ever watched (partly because of the amazingness of that series). It all depends on the CBA works out, but if its relatively the same, I'll take this: Rose/Watson Brewer/Gordon/Bogans Deng Boozer/Taj Noah/Asik/Thomas + 8th AND the MLE. And Monta Ellis is the same defensively as Ben.
  2. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 2, 2011 -> 12:27 PM) Frank+steroids=no choice but to shut the sport down. That's how I know he didn't use. Look what those suckers did to Bonds. And Frank was one of the rare physical specimens to ever play the game. We'd be talking ungodly HR numbers. Like, 800 club easily. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 2, 2011 -> 12:29 PM) Think you have to go with a hybrid of PK/Buehrle. There's just no way you can say Mark hasn't been a face of this franchise. I'd go with this. Paulie has been the face of the franchise, while Mark has been the heart. Gordon better get on claiming that.
  3. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 2, 2011 -> 12:56 PM) Bingo. People keep looking at all the top 3 picks they had when they were awful (Longoria, Price, Upton). But if you look beyond that, it's easy to see they know what the hell they're doing. The Braves are right there as well. Edit: though they royally f***ed up in taking Beckham instead of Posey in '08. Oh my goodness that team with Buster Posey for the next 10 years or so. Or Gordon, or Alvarez.
  4. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 1, 2011 -> 10:52 PM) Well that's the whole point. The core system itself will be more in line with what the xbox and ps3 are, allowing for proper ports. They've even outsourced their online service to someone, rumored to be valve, but that would be too big of a home run to believe. If Nintendo pulled that off, they would destroy their competitors again. Brand loyalty. Who's jumping ship to a new Nintendo console when they can get the same games on their current consoles? The initial Cafe adopters will be current Wii owners, who probably won't be jumping up and down for the FPSs like Halo or Killzone.
  5. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 2, 2011 -> 12:14 AM) I have to agree, this would be a huge upgrade for the Bulls. I have no idea if Detroit is that desperate, but that would really improve us. Well, Korver + 2 Picks + Dumping BG > Dumping Rip for the 8. The 8 could turn into Marcus Morris and suddenly we're deep as hell: Rose/Watson Gordon/Brewer/Bogans (resigned after Detroit cuts) Deng/Morris Boozer/Gibson/Morris Noah/Asik/Thomas BG solves our shooting problems and under Thibs I feel Morris could be developed into Boozer + D. Bench mob stays intact, we upgrade massively at the 2 AND get an extra player to boot. That team could beat Miami.
  6. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jun 2, 2011 -> 12:04 AM) Eh, I'm kind of over Ben Gordon. He was my first favorite basketball player (I was born during the Dynasty years, so while I "liked MJ" I don't have much memory of his play as a Bull) and when hot, he could drop 40 on anyone. Plus, I feel Thibs could give him the Ray Allen makeover, because while Allen is taller, BG is ripped.
  7. http://www.chicagonow.com/blogs/chicago-bu...don-jersey.html If I could turn Korver, the unguaranteeds, and our firsts into BG and the #8, I'd be ecstatic.
  8. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 1, 2011 -> 09:15 PM) Gcn way way more powerful than the ps2, about on par with the xbox. The cafe, Nintendo said it wants to take the core audience back so I expect it to be pretty powerful, but it may still lag because they're launching early. Which they'll never do. The third party franchises are pretty well established for 360 and PS3, why learn new technology when those two will only be slightly less powerful and haven't even been fully tapped yet? Nintendo will have to make it's own Uncharted or Halo to get the core audience back, and family friendly Nintendo won't do that.
  9. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 1, 2011 -> 06:46 PM) That is funny as hell. QUOTE (stretchstretch @ Jun 1, 2011 -> 09:07 PM) and you gotta love how espn titles their article "White sox sweep slumping Red Sox" right, the team who won 5 of their last 6 before we came to town is "slumping"...... to degrade the quality of the sweep as if they came to the park and took advantage of a wounded animal.....rather than admitting we punkslapped a hot first place team in the AL East.... ESPN blows.
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 1, 2011 -> 03:58 PM) The school of thought was that he was going to hit for a high average and not much power. Plus he was defensively challenged at that stage. That's a bit funny. I wonder if Robin's number will ever be retired.
  11. I know its the beat to death horse but Rose-Deng-Dwight is a damn good trio. LeBron trumps Rose, but Dwight and Deng trump Wade and Bosh.
  12. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jun 1, 2011 -> 02:30 PM) When was the last time Dunn had a hit? A whole whopping day ago.
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 1, 2011 -> 02:06 PM) THIS IS FOR THE SHIRE b****ES! f***ING LOL.
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 1, 2011 -> 01:26 PM) What would you trade for a guy with an ERA of 5, a salary around $7 million, and 1.5 years left before he hits FA? If your answer is "Hudson and Holmberg" you're qualified to be the GM of the White Sox, and no other team in the league. Well played Balta, well played.
  15. After the other day, trade Danks for a reliever and some good prospects. I'd strongly think of moving Sale back down to Charlotte and have him start preparing for being a starter too.
  16. QUOTE (Maxwell @ Jun 1, 2011 -> 02:38 AM) Sometimes, pitchers figure it out late. Look at colby lewis. He didn't figure it out until last year. Cliff Lee was mediocre (1 good season) before his Cy Young season.
  17. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 31, 2011 -> 11:40 AM) He was walking away from the refs too. It'd be one thing if he was doing that in someone's face but the way that went down was ridiculous. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 31, 2011 -> 12:07 PM) Especially because of how many times Wade was literally in a refs face during that game. Expressing disbelief when watching the biggest moment of your life fail in front of you is nothing comparable to getting in someones face and yelling "WHAT THE f*** WAS THAT YOU STUPID s***?!" And LeBron got in the refs face the next play. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 31, 2011 -> 11:51 AM) Finally got to watch this, that was a play I was screaming about as it was happening. Lebron never establishes a pivot foot when he plays, he drags them both all the time. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ May 31, 2011 -> 11:55 AM) You know what's funny is that he's becoming more and more credible over time with his analysis of officiating, despite the fact that he rigged games. It's a lot like Jose Conseco becoming one of the most credible guys about steroids. In the era of youtube and the internet, at some point the league is going to have to clean this stuff up. Once the casual viewer starts to believe the games are rigged, there goes the sport. I think that's where Cuban could make a huge difference if he starts publicly calling out the blown calls. No kidding. He's mad that he was the only one caught when really, it's a corrupt as f*** league. Hell, if he came back he'd probably be the best ref. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 31, 2011 -> 07:20 PM) @ChrisMannixSI http://twitter.com/#!/ChrisMannixSI/st...716740566368256 f*** them. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 31, 2011 -> 08:32 PM) Miami better hope that Dallas doesnt get hot from the floor, because the Miami offense is seemingly to hope Lebron makes a shot or pray that the refs call a foul. If Ibaka couldn't slow Dirk down, Bosh won't.
  18. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ May 31, 2011 -> 08:15 PM) Humber once again. I think we can say he's for real. If he ends up in the pen, this board will explode. I will punch someone if he goes to the pen. Trade E-Jax for relief help and a B prospect if you can.
  19. QUOTE (Wanne @ May 31, 2011 -> 06:58 PM) hell...at this point I'll take DV in LF, Lilli in Cf and Quentin in RF. why not? Hell, I'd almost take D2's K Machine over Rios in Center. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 31, 2011 -> 07:18 PM) Humber has been great this Boston lineup is tough. And Toronto and the Yankees.
