Here's roster moves and corresponding ones I could see: De Aza for Rios/Pierre. Viciedo for Quentin. Escobar for Vizquel. Milledge for Teahen. Reed/Infante for E-Jax/Thornton. With De Aza coming up, I'm thinking Rios or Pierre are gone.

Paulie is a badass.

QUOTE (Wanne @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 01:05 AM) How could Santos not be untouchable?!? btw...whatever kenny needs to do to dump Rios...I'm sure he's exploring it. I forgot Sergio. He is. Buehrle, Paulie, Alexei, Beckham, Sale, Viciedo, Santos.

QUOTE (Wanne @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 01:02 AM) Ask next week... btw...I thought the Chinese bombed Pearl Harbor?!? No, the Italians bombed Fort Sumter.

I'm in because, well, the f***? If they start winning do I go "Oh golly gee! I was out! I'll be in next year for sure and won't enjoy their success."
-
I'm not adverse to Kenny's on the fly rebuilding. He did it in '04 and in '07, albeit in the offseason, but both those we're good rebuilds.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 12:04 AM) Good. My only untouchables would be Sale, Quentin, Paulie, Lexi, Mark, Danks and Floyd. Anybody else, including Beckham can be dealt IMO, although I'm not crazy about giving up on Beckham. I also wouldn't want to see Sergio leave. My only untouchables are Mark, Paulie, Viciedo, Sale, Alexei and Beckham. Quentin we'll have for one more year before he gets stupid expensive. Floyd could get a nice package in return. Danks could get a kings ransom.

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 25, 2011 -> 10:18 PM) check it out - Cuddyer pitching in the 8th So that's the All-Star pitcher they were gonna get. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 25, 2011 -> 10:11 PM) That was as bad as you will ever see Miguel look. Sergio's change up to Cabrera last year?
-
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 25, 2011 -> 10:13 PM) I seriously vetted this rumor using a variety of sources from the internets. (im really kidding but I never get to make up ridiculous trades) I know, I'm just saying its ridiculous.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 25, 2011 -> 10:02 PM) Here is a conspiracy theory (note I dont believe it at all) Sox are really trading MB to Cardinals, they moved back Humber's start so MB could pitch tonight (in front of home crowd) and then could be traded. WOOOooOOO Also, no.
-
f*** Detroit.
-
Sergio just owns Cabrera.
-
That was nice Paulie.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 25, 2011 -> 06:19 PM) hmm, maybe "Marty" will come tell us who he was talking about. That tweet alone convinces me that he is Cowley.
-
Well, we better get a Rasmus type for Jackson.
-
That KW quote, the fact that he didn't just shrug this off, makes me believe its real.
-
In before Brandon Allen. I feel bad for him, but this morbidly helps the Sox on and off the field.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 24, 2011 -> 05:41 PM) As is Hudson. Making stupid mistakes with trades doesn't negate how solid the drafts were. Ah, it sounded like you still expected him to be with the Sox.

Lets Play the Partisan Game! Just like after the Arizona shooting and Osama's Death. For f***s sake. Who cares what party, race, religion, etc. the guy was. He killed 80 people. That's all that matters. And it's sad.

The reason you don't give up Jackson and Thornton AND a prospect for Rasmus. In this market, Quentin, Jackson, and Thornton could possibly be the top 3 pieces available to contending teams. This is a market the Sox should control. So too give away two of those assets AND a prospect on a buy low, but good, CF is to blow the Sox control on the market. Offer one of E-Jax or Thornton, plus a prospect not named Reed or Viciedo. In this market for a CF having a down year, in a managers doghouse, and who has lost his starting job, that should be enough when the Sox could flip a Q-Jax package, plus Thornton, for a kingly prize from a team like the Red Sox or Braves.
-
I really want Rasmus, but I want to hang on to Matt and Reed. Jackson, Escobar, and Infante? That'd be a kingly move by KW.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 24, 2011 -> 05:44 PM) Huh? That would be terrible and the final nail in Kenny's coffin. Plus, KW loves Viciedo. Viciedo is going no where. (Am I the only one that finds it hilarious that Dayan & Alexei are our only international signings and now mean so much to this team?)

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 24, 2011 -> 12:34 PM) The Sox picked up 3 guys in 2008 who are already at the big league level. That's actually really good. With 6-7 years before guys hit FA, if you get 3 guys from every draft, nearly your entire roster will be people who are arb-eligibile or earlier. And there are still a handful of guys still on their way up who might make something of themselves. 2009 hasn't produced a major leaguer yet, but guys like Phegley, Thompson, Holmberg are working their way up, and we'll probably get at least a reliever or two out of some of those extra pitchers. The other thing that hurt us on the 2009 draft was being repeatedly snakebit by injuries. Holmberg is with the D-backs Balta.

QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jul 24, 2011 -> 03:36 PM) Could the Cards be sold on adding Teahen to the deal? He might thrive under La Russa and in that offense. They really don't have an everyday third basemen. It would probably be Morel instead, but that would leave us without a 3B. Though Morel hasn't been hot stuff.
