QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 12:55 AM) The next round is going to be awesome. Celtics-Heat and hopefully a somewhat easy series for the Bulls. I want the Heat badly in the Eastern Conference finals... A Heat-Bulls ECF would be intensity turned up to 111. It's basically the NBA clash of Good (Rose) vs. Evil (LeBron)

QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 25, 2011 -> 07:20 PM) The PS3 is still a system that came out 5 years ago no matter what. Yeah, but as a Bethesda developer said in an interview "there is still a lot to unlock in these consoles." What can get better? Graphics? PS3 already has 3D. Processing? It's most impressive technological game, Uncharted 2, only uses 45% of the systems power. Project Cafe is Nintendo playing catch up for making a GameCube with a Motion Controller.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 24, 2011 -> 09:24 PM) I don't think it's so irrational. Most of us have never called for changes in the past. There's a difference between wanting somebody fired every season, or finally getting fed up with the dysfunctional play. This team is going to lose 3 or 4 in NY and look at what our record will be. Same ol pattern of not being able to beat Central teams as well, is continuing.. I mean ... s***.

QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Apr 24, 2011 -> 07:30 PM) Why does the play of 2007 through 2010 not impact how we are supposed to feel about this team. Slumps I understand but how does a team go 10 out of 11 games without getting baserunners? Come on, something is amiss here. I was unaware that we just lost 10 perfect games.

So, Noah goes crazy. Boozer does good (15 and 13 is good) Deng gets 16. Rose only gets 15. That injury had to be bad if he only got 4 FTs and shot so many 3s. He just needs to rest up so he can go full strength back home.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 23, 2011 -> 04:48 PM) Any thoughts on Project Cafe? Interesting Nintendo is going to beat MS and Sony by 2 years. 350 to 400 is a little much. Guessing the controller will cost 100 in itself, but it sounds amazing. It sounds like they bred an SNES with a PS3, 360, and Dreamcast. Nintendo is gonna go away from the non-gamer market that the Wii had it seems. I feel like Project Cafe is gonna fall flat on its face. QUOTE (kev211 @ Apr 23, 2011 -> 07:11 PM) Nintendo is going to beat them by about two years because the hardware they put in their systems is nowhere close to MS or Sony. Personally MS and Sony beat Nintendo by about 4-5 years. MS and Sony definitely beat Nintendo by 4 or 5 years. The Wii was a continuation of Generation Six, while it seems Cafe is Nintendo finally getting to generation 7. Uncharted 2 was what, 45% of the PS3's power? The PS3 could have another five years before Sony needs to make the PS4 since it's Blu-Ray equipped. 360 shouldn't worry due to HDD and the ability to download games, to make up for space lost from DVD's capacity. This is just Nintendo playing catch up. They can't just drop the hardcore market and suddenly re-enter and casual gamers won't care for a Dreamcast controller and $400 console without the ability to wave a Wii controller around.

QUOTE (Felix @ Apr 22, 2011 -> 11:06 PM) Admittedly I'm not the soberest (is this even a word? probably not) person in the room right now, but I'm 99.9% sure you're the only person to even mention Rondo's name in the last 10 pages of this thread. Yo. I think I brought him up.

QUOTE (since56 @ Apr 22, 2011 -> 10:20 PM) More a discussion of Getz plus what the Sox could have got for Beckham, vs. keeping Beckham. This site often points out the lack of home grown talent. Getz came up through each level of the Sox system. Starting slowly but improving enough to advance all the way to the big league team. He continues to improve now batting leadoff as Kansas City's regular second baseman. Beckham hits eight for the Sox and has had one half of a rookie season that was good. I am not so pro Getz as I am not so enamored with Beckham. I don't care where he was drafted, at this point Getz is producing as much as Beckham. The Sox could have got more for Beckham than they did for Getz. Did the Sox keep the wrong guy? This is literally awful. Beckham's floor is higher than Getz' ceiling.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 22, 2011 -> 10:26 PM) From what I read, they want to be cool and different and think that throwing unproven statistics in our faces will make us say "you're right, the Bulls should totally offer D-Rose for CP3, because that would be brilliant!" Oh, and that I can't say that's a crazy idea without being a labeled a "homer", even though Rose is going to win MVP at 22 years old. Infuriating. Dude. They said CP3 is better than Rose right. Not that they'd trade for him Me? I disagree, but I've beat to death my examples. At this point, both sides are making good, valid points, but some people won't concede ground. This year is the year of Rose. Next...who knows? If Paul is completely healthy, Derrick will have to improve some facets of his game to keep the Point God crown. He earned it this year, but it was Deron's at the end of last year and Paul's before that. Westbrook could even break through and go insane? But this year, it's Derrick. So let's just see what happens from here.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 22, 2011 -> 07:22 PM) Zaeed is boring... Kasumi is awesome Kasumi is definitely awesome. She's my second favorite henchman (behind Miranda). I hope she returns. Anyway, couldn't get Jack's loyalty cause the IFF's activated, but everyone lived. Gonna get it next (My paragon score is at 90%! How high must it be!).

QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Apr 22, 2011 -> 02:22 PM) Can we please stay on topic here boys...? Daniel Hudson sucks. Please, give me a reason? Is it his numbers this season? Because then Chris Sale sucks too. Look, Hudson isn't a surefire Hall of Fame lock, but he should be a damn good number three starter for the Diamondbacks in the NL. I was indifferent towards the trade. I still think it was an overpay, but Jackson could very well be our ace this year so I accepted it. Threads like this are just to whip your dick out and yell "I WAS RIGHT!" and bait people into reacting. Right now, if I had one game, I'm taking E-Jax. If I'm planning for the future, it's Hudson. If we somehow resign EJax, get a good pitching prospect, or draft one with whatever picks we hopefully can get for him (I believe he is a Type-B FA right now) then we win the deal. If we don't, we lose, because Hudson represented value. It's like the Charlotte Bobcats pick for the Bulls, you could strike gold or you don't and Hudson looked like he had damn good value until we called him up, then got it back in Arizona. Had he bounced back like that here we'd have been talking about Chris Sale in the rotation and trading Hudson in a package for a closer, probably Heath Bell.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Apr 22, 2011 -> 04:36 PM) What else needs to be said to a claim that someone "proved" Paul is better than Rose because of "advanced statistics?" Touche.

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Apr 22, 2011 -> 03:17 PM) Apparently you do. This discussion has ben about who's the best PG in the league. Myself, J4L and few others have proven through stats and advanced stats that Chris Paul is the better player. The rest of Soxtalk, through Rose colored glasses are using the weakass excuse "I'll trust my eyes". You go trust those eyes. I'm pretty sure you guys haven't watched a Hornets game in years. And I better not hear another "Rose shoots because he has to." That's what you guys wanted when you said "Get rid of Gordon, Rose needs to be able to shoot at all times. Gordon is a chucker." Like most of you guys know what a chucker is. A few points. 1) You literally proved nothing, because there is nothing to prove other than your opinion. Let me use the Bill Simmons argument here for why guys like Rose and Nash are MVPs. Their teams are built like a finely tuned car that only one person can drive, in this case Rose. Put Paul on the Bulls and they aren't winning 62. Put Rose on the Hornets and they probably win 45 still because Rose would have been able to pick up some missing scoring, but not manage the game like Paul. 2) Rose does shoot because he has to. Who the f*** is going to otherwise? Bogans? Korver and Deng can shoot, but Korver obviously doesn't start and while Deng's improved he isn't automatic. Rose needs to give a scoring punch. But trust me, I'd rather have BG back if I could. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Apr 22, 2011 -> 03:18 PM) lol While I agree with you, that didn't really contribute now, did it? QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 22, 2011 -> 03:28 PM) Pretty sure we didn't want to pay gordon the absurd cash he got to be a sixth man, when he thought he should be a starter. I'm not arguing that Paul isn't better on f***ing PER, but you would be fired on the spot if you were a GM and traded rose straight up for Paul, an older player with a knee injury under his belt that took him an incredibly long time to recover from. End of story. He should have been a starter, but that ship has sailed. But I agree with the second part. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Apr 22, 2011 -> 03:48 PM) You can continue to say this like it is a fact but I don't agree and I'd say most people don't agree. Even when they went head to head this season Rose clearly stood out. Ding-ding-ding! QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 22, 2011 -> 04:00 PM) hey, it's not the be-all end-all. But under three minutes rose is even crazier. But i've watched enough basketball in my life to know that the last 5 min in basketball are different, and especially surviving the oughts with the bulls team we had, to have someone who is going to take that shot, take the drive and get fouled and MAKE it, is really important. But getting rose to shoot was an evolution. Who knows what kind of player he'll end up as. Based on his work ethic, really good and he'll be the better shooter. While I disagree with J4L on the Paul v. Rose, I'll say this much this thread has dissolved into this: When it could have been more like this article: http://basketball.realgm.com/article/21317..._At_Point_Guard

Great zombie Jesus what is going on? All J4L was arguing was that 1) Rose isn't otherworldly efficient and 2) He'd take Paul I'm not gonna argue with #1 because Rose isn't efficient. That's a byproduct of him having to take a lot more shots because the team doesn't having a Shooting Guard who can, well, shoot. However, it's the same "Kobe inefficiency" in that the ones he does make, you're gonna remember and he steps it up in the clutch, where I'm sure Rose's numbers are not only efficient, but probably astronomical and those buzzer-beater prayers that he throws up at the end of quarters don't help. Also, before I forget, he was more efficient before he took contact to get to the line, so drawing FT's is hurting him. As for number 2, I've made it clear I wouldn't take Paul over Rose, but that's because of Rose's ability to put up crazy numbers and not be inefficient, while being 22, and the fact that when down by 10 with 3:30 left I don't bat an eye because Derrick Rose is gonna take over. And because he's workaholic who will probably improve efficiency next year.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 22, 2011 -> 01:06 PM) No. Just because some dismiss statistical analysis as crap doesn't mean it's of no importance. I guarantee you if Rose was as efficient as Nash or Paul that EVERYBODY would be on it. But since he's not, all we get is, "Well, I watch every single minute of every single game," to hell with stats. I don't think stats are everything. But to completely dismiss them is ludicrous. If Rose were as efficient as Nash, he's averaging well over 30 points a game.

QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 22, 2011 -> 12:48 PM) QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 22, 2011 -> 12:49 PM) As in the Yankees would never trade Montero? I don't think anybody in their system is off limits with their starting pitching situation. Nothing will happen this year (unless the Sox really stink up the joint). If KW could get Montero and one of Betances/Banuelos (and I would accept no less for a pitcher of Danks' caliber), I'd praise him like I do Cargo. That's what I want if I have to give up John Danks. QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 22, 2011 -> 01:04 PM) I love answers like these. It really helps create more discussion. No.
