The suspense of Rich Hill vs. Trayce Thompson

Amazing

Lol I just got home and Jason could not have been more casual about that Padres run scoring.

Our big beefy boy's got 3 strikeouts

I mean, we have a fun AFL squad to follow and Pedro has basically threatened to murder Colas if he doesn't play winter ball, so I think we should.

It was the smart thing to do, just like the Sox trading one pitcher who was on pace for the Hall of Fame and another who was a fan-favorite to kickstart their rebuild was the smart thing to do. They are still for the vast majority of their history a loser franchise.

Can't believe the D-Backs wouldn't give us Jordan ".148 batting average" Lawlar for Cease. What bums!

2024 Opening Day starter vs. Jarvis*

When you google Curt Schilling he now pops up as "American commenter" instead of pitcher.

I completely understand why teams hire capologists because this s%*# is confusing. Anyway:

The Cubs were known as "lovable losers" for a century and 2 years ago they nuked the core of the most beloved team in franchise history. Both franchises are habitual losers. It's just that one turned it into marketing genius.

Abreu basically prevented a brawl from breaking out.

The Sun-TImes doesn't have a paywall. It's free public media, owned by WBEZ's parent company. They'd like you to donate, sure. But it's free. And I just went to their site and didn't need to sign-in. It's also a much better user experience than the horrific mess of ads it was just a few years ago.

GM Chris Getz: "Why would the previous farm director put me in this position?"

ESPN ranked White Sox season #30 last in MLB with an F ranking.

While Tatis would ease a lot of pain and maybe prevent other blunders (drafting Madrigal for need), the Sox developing him is a long shot, keeping him healthy is a longshot, and if he can't keep his s%*# together in San Diego, there's no chance he'd keep it together here. Though again, my theory is that the Tatis trade has intertwined the two teams' destinies until they meet in the World Series. -
Looked at the box score. I have no idea who Yohan Ramirez is

I mean, it makes sense. We knew Fischer was gonna Major League his team. We didn't know Kenny and Hahn would make moves separately, get fired, the next GM would be internal, a team expected to contend for the division would COMPLETELY bottom out, Cease would collapse, Tim would be horrid thanks to Hanser Alonso's defense (i.e., preventable), Liam would get cancer, Sox fans would get shot, Pedro would be Boylen/Trestman 2.0, Middleton would be so ready to leave he'd shave his beard, our best pitcher would have domestic abuse lingering over him, rumors of a move to Nashville AND we're not even guaranteed a top pick. Basically, Sox fans are Mrs. Lincoln being asked if she enjoyed the play. -
Cause guys, let's remember that this is the current 2024 rotation under contract: Cease-Kopech-Schlotens-Patino. Touki is almost a lock to re-sign. Then you've got the elite battle of Honeywell, Martin's reconstructed arm and Burke (if he exists) in the mix. Mena and Nastrini are gonna get a few starts in AAA. Who knows what the plan is for Crochet. Also, Cease could be traded, creating a true Murdered Row of a rotation.
-
At this point the Sox need 1/10 guys to fill out the rotation. If the coaching staff is back, might as well bring back a guy who Katz has had success with + let Bannister get his hands on him.

Chicago Public Media acquired them. The Trib got bought by vultures at Aiden Capital. If you want to support one or the other, support the Sun-Times. The Trib could get infinite money and Aiden would bleed them dry.
-
I mean...how can pass that up?

At that point he probably knew he had a future in basketball or baseball. An injury in football puts all three at risk. And you start racking up brain injuries right away. My brother only played four years of HS ball and his brain is likely swiss cheese due to five concussions (that we know about). If the other sports are there, secure the bag that keeps your body intact.

Calvin Johnson is one of the biggest freaks of all time and he called it quits early. The #2 WR in his class decided to pitch and earned $122M. Johnson earned $110M. Samardzija earned more in salary than Megatron. Yes, there's sponsorships. But those hits take a toll on your body and brain. Kyler Murray is a lucky one.

If you have a future in other sports, it's stupid to play football.
