  1. So, looking over the Centers in the league I'd have to say Noah is #2. If he weren't injured he'd be the East's default backup center. The center position is just so bad. Top: Dwight Howard Tier 2: Joakim Noah, Al Horford Tier 3: Nene, Al Jefferson, Marc Gasol, Tyson Chandler, Andrew Bogut Tier 4: Everyone else.
  2. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Jan 5, 2011 -> 10:47 PM) Ever since watching Hard Knocks, I thought Mark Sanchez seemed like a pretty cool guy, but he just went up another notch in my book. He's an overrated QB, but this is a really good story... http://sports.espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/news/story?id=5991920 Sanchez I hate USC, but I couldn't help but like Sanchez. Good guy.
  3. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 6, 2011 -> 03:30 PM) I really want something bad to happen to Jason Giambi. Could you imagine just what 1 more MVP would look like on Frank's resume right now? No way a 3-time MVP doesn't get in on the first ballot. DH or not. +1 If Frank isn't a first ballot HOF, some BBWAA members will not sleep ever again.
  4. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jan 6, 2011 -> 12:16 AM) I couldn't agree more. I'm gonna go ahead and third this.
  5. http://www.sportspickle.com/opinion/4619/n...vorite-athletes Can't decide who's funnier between Tebow and Vick.
  6. Doesn't Tommy John surgery take two years to recover from? Plus, Nathan is in his mid-30's. I think the days of Joe Nathan striking fear into the AL are long over. Plus, Capps wasn't that solid last year for them, so its not like they have a good BP right now. While the Twins core of Mauer-Morneau-Young-Liriano-Duensing is still intact, it's a big question mark after those 6. The rotation is suspect after Liriano-Duensing, the lineup still has Mauer-Morenau-Young, but Cuddyer-Kubel-Span all had down years last year from 2009 and who knows about Valencia-Nishioka-Casilla. It sure will be interesting to watch.
  7. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jan 2, 2011 -> 10:42 PM) So who would you rather play? Philly or New Orleans? Philly.
  8. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 2, 2011 -> 08:07 PM) Especially since we'd be giving up a second round pick as well to sign Soriano. Forgot about that. No way in hell I include Thompson period then.
  9. QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Jan 2, 2011 -> 07:34 PM) Let's say you can find a team (Oakland?) that will take Teahen's $4.75M in 2011 in full if you throw in Thompson and are willing to eat at least $3.5M of the $5.5M owed to him in 2012. Assuming you could then afford to sign Soriano to something like 2/$18M ($6M in 2011, $10M in 2012, $10M TO w/ $2M buyout in 2013) would you do it? Because I would. Wouldn't include Thompson and Cash.
  10. Yea, the BUlls have been profitable for a while, selling out tons of games, so I think JR just wants to win now.
  11. Seriously though, if Soriano signed with the Sox, I'd put us as the favorite on paper. The only team in the AL that should be better than the Sox if that happened would be Boston, but their rotation is a huge question mark. And their bullpen, since Bobby is setting up and not closing. And while the Phils have far and away the best rotation, their lineup is like Boston's pitching staff. Meanwhile the Sox could have a lethal lineup, a top 5 rotation depending on Peavy's health and a BP of: CL - Soriano SU - Crain SU - Thornton MR - Sale MR - Santos MR - Infante LR - Pena That right there is a good bullpen. Also of note, the other places he'd sign are either almost at their limit too (Angels, especially if they get Beltre) or he wouldn't close (Yankees)
  12. Actually get in shape. We'll see how that goes.
  13. Noah needs to be in the booth until he gets back from injury. He was hilarious.
  14. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Dec 31, 2010 -> 04:35 AM) was cora a rugby player or somethin lol See: Cubs-Sox fight in 2006. (Cora bit someone)
  15. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Dec 29, 2010 -> 02:30 PM) Cowley says Sale is going to Camp Cora as well. To work on pitches against the hitters? I'm confused.
  16. A Heat series is where the Bulls will miss Kirk, since he was the D-Wade stopper. But I'm confident that Rose will win his matchup, Boozer will feast on Bosh, Noah will shut down Bosh/Miami Center, and Brewer might be able to fill Kirk's role. I'll wait till the second Heat game (when we have Noah) to judge if we can play them or not.
  17. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 29, 2010 -> 01:00 PM) The first two? Obviously the Bucks and Cavs. lol. Heat and Celtics. And a front-court headed by Camby and Howard totally shut down the paint for opposing teams, outside of maybe Miami. The Heat don't match up well against a healthy Bulls. LeBron will have to guard Rose, leaving Deng open, and Boozer-Noah-Taj will devour Bosh and Ilgauskas. And the Bulls always play hard against the Celtics, and if KG is gone, I think they beat them. I would fear Camby-Howard though.
  18. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 29, 2010 -> 04:26 AM) A Camby/Howard front-line would be devastating. And yet a third team the Bulls would have little to no chance against. Who are the first two? It used to be the Magic, but we don't know how that would work now with a healthy Boozer and revamped Magic roster.
  19. f***ing Oney. He needs to not have an internet connection. As for Bobby, is he suffering from some sort of DWade "Bulls aren't loyal syndrome"? Ozzie stuck by him long past the point where he should have. I thought it would end nicely Bobby, but you made it ugly.
  20. For the record, Carlos Torres plays in Asia now.
  21. Something overlooked: Dayan will only be 24 by the time Paulie's contract is up. He can work on his walking ability and playing corner OF/3B (Morel insurance) in AAA.
