Ok, who else watched this? It just...was not funny. Unlike the The Daily Show...they make up too much to be funny.

Happy Birthday man!

Also confirmed: Sale will be in bullpen.

QUOTE (DBAHO @ Jan 14, 2011 -> 06:47 AM) Can't remember what Affalo's contract situation is like, but I think he's cheap and Denver want to build around young cheap talented players when they deal Carmelo (Kroenke wants the hard salary cap brought in also FWIW). More likely to deal J.R Smith, who blew up tonight offensively BTW I would have thought. He's a RFA after this season. I want the Melo deal to go through, because it seems with either Nets or Knicks they get another SG, meaning they'd need to dump one. That's where the Bulls come a knockin'.

QUOTE (Whitewashed in '05 @ Jan 13, 2011 -> 09:05 PM) Wow, you really have a big man crush on that guy don't you? J4L doesn't have a man crush on CarGo at all.

I don't think VZW speed will be hit THAT hard. It's already a huge network with tons of smartphones. That being said, I love my DroidX.

That is one pricey as hell bullpen.

New Tim Tebow commercial sucks.

Uribe and the Double-Tag not on there is crap.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 13, 2011 -> 02:32 PM) Not NBA, but I always thought this was the most amazing 10 seconds of dunks I've ever seen. Fun in retrospect seeing him on that court.

LeBron is now day-to-day after rolling (rather painfully looking) his ankle. Karma heard him and was like "Oh, yeah. Forgot! I'M COMIN' BRON!" And it was against the Clippers, a team he led on during free agency, after he attacked the Cavs. The next two games are against the Nuggets (who he hurt inadvertently by making Melo jealous of the Superfriends) and the Bulls (see Clippers). Will karma strike? Hopefully in the form of a James Johnson roundhouse kick?

My first memory is sitting in the Lower Deck in 1994 and watching Frank Thomas hit a long, long home run. I was amazed. That's why I love baseball.

Pertaining to Paulie: Only way he'd get in is if he strings together 2010 repeats over the life of his current contract. I love Paulie, but if that doesn't happen he definitely won't get in.

Yes. This deal makes complete sense for us.

So, LBP and ModNation Racers are both getting Jak & Daxter things soon. I have a feeling that Naughty Dog will finally announce Jak and Daxter 4...I hope.

Derrick Rose just made his best poster since Phoenix. Wow. Why Jennings is in the dunk contest over someone like Rose is baffling.

The Federal Post Office Guy is Jake Peavy.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jan 10, 2011 -> 02:41 AM) Played The Move tonight at a friends house. I really liked it. The only game I played was some sports package game. I REALLY enjoyed the volleyball game I played. was pretty realistic in movements, and the controller is really responsive. Can't wait to play The Show on it, and other cool sports games. I love the move. Sports Champions is mad fun. NBA 2k11 is...confusing. Have yet to figure out how to play that with the move. Resident Evil 5 is fun with it if you have a gun controller. Have yet to try Tiger Woods with it. I really wish the Show had move controls for all hitting, not just HRD.

QUOTE (gatnom @ Jan 10, 2011 -> 02:01 AM) and doughnuts. And hustle. I ain't never seen anybody hustle in two a groundball double play like Mark Kotsay.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jan 10, 2011 -> 12:25 AM) What exactly is one of the best power hitters and run producers in the game worth then? Twenty bucks. He can't play the field damnit. At least someone like Mark Kotsay's got a stellar glove on him.

White Sox sign Will Ohman to 2 year deal worth $4mil
Quin replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 10, 2011 -> 12:15 AM) Now I want you to google the Adam Dunn acquisition thread and read my posts in that thread. It shouldn't be too hard to find since it was so recent. And then tell me I just hate just to hate. Matter a fact I'll find it myself. Dude, I know you were ecstatic, I don't need to go digging for it. You aren't hating just to hate, but it seems like minor annoyances are becoming HUGE annoyances to you. Sure, three year deals to relievers more often then not don't pan out, PK will probably regress (I won't say definitely, since no one saw his 2010 coming), who knows about Quentin, Gordon, and AJ bouncing back, or about the pen with it's most dominant reliever moving to a more limited role and losing two big arms, Ohman never has gotten a multi-year deal before, EJax is $8.5M that could be given to Soriano or another closer, Peavy could be a huge pricetag and nothing else etc. But the thing is, this team won 88 games last year without a DH, without it's ace, with a long stretch of mediocrity from the rotation, with just one stable bat for the entire year, with a shaky-as-nothing-else closer and now we've got that DH, we'll probably get that ace back, our closer will (hopefully) continue being a rock, and hopefully whatever the rotation did to turn it around last year carries over. That being said, I'm an optimist when it comes to sports, this team could still lose to the Twins. Not saying they will, but it is still very likely. -
I will agree that Sale being anything less than a starter is bad, but if he becomes a dominant (and I mean stupidly dominant) reliever, that doesn't hurt either. The fact that he will be in the bullpen worries me, but haven't closers moved from bullpen to starter (Dempster?) in recent years?
