  1. Hmm. Stopgap at short, or do we get real fun and see something like Popeye/Sosa up the middle until Colson's ready?
  2. If it makes you feel better, my "this will never come back to haunt me, surely" posts are "Fernando Tatis is just a flyer and will never amount to anything" and buckets of copium like "mayhaps James Shields is good for Giolito's development" articles that Merkin was cranking out. Like, goddamn, why did they need to include anything for James Shields.
  3. Bold putting failed prospects Gonzalez and Eder in the top six. Also holy s%*#, didn't know Schultz had a shoulder impingement. I learned I had one in college one day when I tried to get a laptop out my bag and all of the sudden couldn't lift it. Before that spooks anyone: I fixed it with physical therapy. I'm assuming a freak athlete like Schultz will be fine as long (fingers crossed) the Sox rehab it properly.

Bruh. And the opposite of this:
  5. I've only had minor back injuries and they fucking sucked.
  6. They should have gotten more than Eder, yes. That much we should all agree on. Reclamation? Not really, because Tommy John isn't a death sentence anymore and people do indeed recover from foot injuries over time. Look no farther than ... Jake Burger. But being hyper reactionary, well, that's what leads people to super hot takes like ? eDeR iS tOaST ? Famously, just like how Chris Sale was toast after his foot fracture in early 2015.
  7. Your quote and the link is right there. But don't worry, we can write off Eder's Tommy John and foot fracture.
  8. Boy, you sure are quick to write off Eder since you once called Burger a "wasted first round pick." But don't worry - you're not the only one in that thread calling him a bust. @Lip Man 1 joins you, plenty of @Harold's Leg Lift ragging on the guy. @greg775 repeatedly asks what the hell were the Sox thinking by drafting him. Burger was truly the worst pick ever, until he wasn't. Really, the only person adamant that the pick was good/solid was @Y2Jimmy0.
  9. Touche. I will say, any time someone argues against KC bbq (especially St. Louisans), my counterpoint is that whenever I'm in KC, I can just plug "bbq" into a GPS, go to the nearest place, be it famou or not, and be satisfied.

Amazing how I'm more excited to watch Nastrini than the MLB club.
  11. Pretty bold that Chappy is gonna be a top 15 prospect, but I'll accept it. In all seriousness: Burke is one of the more exciting guys on this list I can see a Hackenburg vs. Lee battle in Spring Training, with Lee getting the advantage due to his big power Did Burrowes mostly fall due to new acquisitions / what should we be expecting from a 19-year-old LatAm signing? Likewise, Veras holding steady after new acquisitions is pretty dope Carela for Middleton just seems like a good parting gift from Hahn Interest in seeing where Tatum ends up.
  12. Tbh if the players succeeded I could have seen it succeeding. But McDermott was the White Sox draft pick of the NBA
  13. It's a bad rebrand, but it's what they decided upon in 2014 when the original Oklahoma Joe wanted to reopen in Oklahoma, around the time you latched onto KC culture. I mean, if anyone supports bad rebrands it should be the guy who coined Drain Duo, right Eduardo?
  14. I suck at reading StatCast but it looks like it declined? https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/savant-player/aaron-nola-605400?stats=statcast-r-pitching-mlb Also, I feel like teams might be wary after a lot of last year's mega deals busted. It's JR's fantasy.
  15. I'm afraid of Sprinkle being another Cleuluis Rondon. Really hoping Vera ditches the injury bug. As for the guys on here that I'm excited about: Game thread favorite Javier Mogollón Aldrín Batista - if the Sox screwed up and whiffed on a signee, it doesn't look like a bad rebound Tim Elko. Like Bmags, I think I'd have ranked him, but I am wary of high .BABIP, high K% guys (thanks Yoan) Calvin Harris, because lefty catchers are exciting Shane Murphy, because until Ky Bush and Jake Eder joined the system, there was such a desperate need for a lefty starter that he was the prince that was promised. Also "feel to pitch." Also, as always, appreciate these lists James!
  16. He's got a 4.55 ERA, 4.23 FIP and is allowing a lot of homers (not as many as Gio and Lynn, but just behind them). He's getting a multi-year, but I don't know about 9 figures unless it's a desperate team
  17. I'm gonna try and make my suicide squad that JR/Getz/Pedro will try to sell us on Gio on a prove it deal working with Katz ReyLo the closer returns Nola, this year's big FA Trayce Thompson returns as the fourth OF, team "really likes what he showed" in his short stint Pedro really pushes for a Salvador Perez trade, but Jerry doesn't want to take on the extra money. Team signs Martin "hitting .186" Maldonado due to his 2019 stint in Kansas City. Naperville's Nicky Lopez is brought on due to the winning culture in ATL, but also KC. Jose Rodriguez, Quero, and Veras tear up Charlotte while Pedro/Getz say "they need more seasoning" before he disturbs the vet presence in the clubhouse that is Lopez, Maldonado, and Sheets.
  18. Fell to their knees in a Joe's Kansas City BBQ.
  19. Danny Farquhar almost died and was performing better.
  20. If you're a big market team and you get a top 6 pick, you can't pick within the top 10 consecutive years.
  21. DFA'd, now in Charlotte. And yeah, Garcia might be fun. He's only thrown 7 innings in Charlotte, but hasn't been obliterated, which is a good sign in that park/this system.
