Gamethread: Sox vs. Beaneaters, 7:10 PM 09/29
Quin replied to elgonzo4sox's topic in 2010 Season in Review
QUOTE (elgonzo4sox @ Sep 29, 2010 -> 09:50 PM) Can we get the Sox to have Morel trade numbers with Viciedo? Morel looks like the second coming of Joe Crede right now... And Viciedo is the second coming of Pods? -

Finally got around to playing Heavy Rain. Messes with your mind.

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Sep 28, 2010 -> 10:56 PM) The NBA Elite demo was SO bad that they've delayed the game indefinitely with rumors that there will not be a 2011 version of the game. Awesome start for the new branding. Indeed.

Bulls are alive and not bending on Noah is now to their benefit.

QUOTE (J.Reedfan8 @ Sep 28, 2010 -> 11:35 PM) I've boycotted games unless I see the young guys play (and I don't mean just Morel) and I'm speaking for myself. It's embarrassing the "not ready at all" .289 hitting Viciedo hardly plays, yet he was the guy with the GW hit. Flowers still doesn't play to see what we got in him (or at least a better evaluation since A.J. is on the verge of walking) Infante, De Aza hardly, etc. I don't get up for a game (especially when the season is over) watching Pierre, A.J., Vizquel, Jones, Kotsay, etc.. hit. I would say other posters have their own reasons. This. I'll tune in a bit now, but when Dayan isn't ready, then I can't anticipate him having GW hits.

The Decision: Paul Konerko

The only place the Sox could move to and succeed would be the Lakefront, but even then, they lose their great transportation spot.

QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Sep 28, 2010 -> 01:38 AM) that's why i said i would rather, rather than it will be likely. would you want garcia or pena as your fifth starter, both guys who has shown poor peripherals this season, and will probably get you an ERA closer to 5.00, or a younger guy in Torres who has better chance to succeed than both of those guys going forward? Torres has been in Triple A for 3 years now, and has performed very well the last 2 seasons, i think it would be fair to at least give him a shot in the big leagues. The problem is it's not really the fifth starter, but the Swingman/Placeholder for Sale. Also, Torres is possibly the ultimate AAAA player. He's fine down in AAA, but his stuff just won't translate to the majors, let alone the Cell. Also, keep in mind he's 27, so he's only a year younger than Pena. He could in the end carve himself a Carrascoesque niche for a team in the NL in the future.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 28, 2010 -> 01:25 AM) I have a feeling that Paulie's game might be similar to Brad Miller's...xD No, Paulie has one key difference. He has a bat. No one messing with him.

QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Sep 28, 2010 -> 01:03 AM) i would rather go with a younger guy with more potential not named Chris Sale. Carlos Torres.

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 27, 2010 -> 11:57 PM) Interesting that Konerko's going to address his free agency before Thursday's game. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...,0,768802.story "Next summer, I shall take my talents to South Beach to play with LeBron."

Ho-hum. A 4 game win streak. - Sox vs. Sawks - 7:10p CSN

Watch us win out to not get a good draft pick. >. -
And back to the thread... LaRussa commented on coming back to coach the Sox, saying he loves Chicago, but St. Louis is something else, if it hasn't already been stated.

QUOTE (Twinsfan1965 @ Sep 26, 2010 -> 03:29 PM) Why am I a troll? Because I believe Valencia will be better then Morel? Very odd comment. Sorry, now that I've read your other posts, I see you're not. In past forms I've been on though, anyone with a name like yours and post count like that would be instantly called a Troll for baiting. My apologies, welcome to SoxTalk.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 26, 2010 -> 02:13 PM) Someone out there is annoyed enough with Denver's management to leak a "denver is dragging its feet" set of statements. This is only good news for the Bulls.

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 26, 2010 -> 01:29 PM) So Manny, Konerko, and Rios get the day off, yet Ozzie still manages to not play Viciedo! Go manage the Cubs you ass and get fired after a week for ripping on the gay clubs in Wrigleyville. Ozzie's mishandling of Dayan should just be added to the laundry list of bad moves Ozzie's made this year. -
QUOTE (Twinsfan1965 @ Sep 25, 2010 -> 11:28 AM) Valencia will be a .280 -.290 hitter with 10-12 homeruns and 60-70 RBI'S a season. Valencia will be an average fielder. Valencia takes the pitch to right field too often to become a .200 hitter. Valencia will be a better MLB 3rd baseman then Morel. This kids, is what we call a troll. Hi troll!

Bringing Back Sox Supporters Section at Comiskey
Quin replied to Night Train Veeck's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Night Train Veeck @ Sep 24, 2010 -> 09:55 AM) October 1st against Cleveland! 7:10! Not only will this be the test drive, but there will be fireworks also! Interested? I am, but sadly, I am busy that night with Homecoming. I'll easily do this in the future though. -
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 24, 2010 -> 12:14 AM) I really enjoyed the fact that a discussion started comparing the power hitting abilities of Juan Pierre vs. Ozzie Guillen. +1

Bringing Back Sox Supporters Section at Comiskey
Quin replied to Night Train Veeck's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Night Train Veeck @ Sep 22, 2010 -> 10:15 AM) So, not only do we have an approved section for the game, but we also have an approved special ticket price! The Sox have agreed to both for that day's game, and now it will boil down to people interested in heading out and getting this thing going. I have already had a few people message me and send emails, so let me know if you are interested in heading out to the game, and any other ideas you have to make this thing great. Either shoot me an email at [email protected], or post a reply, and we can start getting it set up. If anyone has any other ideas, bring em on! Go Sox! Night Train Veeck Which game?
