  1. I ran the lottery one time after this comment and they got knocked down to 8th. Order was: STL, Detroit, Oakland, San Diego, KC, SF, Colorado, White Sox Second time I ran it they got third. Next time they got the top pick. They can easily fall out of the top 6.
  2. From the bubble I think Touissant, Schlotens, and Martin (despite the injury) all hang around. Same for Patino on the dregs. It's likely that none of them amount to anything, but even if the Sox sign multiple starters, having those four, Mena and Nastrini is immediately better emergency starter depth than this year's plan of Martin after he ended 2022 with an injury.
  3. Does Gio legitimately need Katz as his pitching coach
  4. I'm hoping for a top 2 pick, then they do smart moves in the off-season. But it'll be like #6 with Perez as the big off-season move
  5. I guess this what happens when we hire a guy from the Royals' player development department to oversee the a former Royals bench coach.
  6. Man who wants to be in charge of farm system and man who wants to manage the team.
  7. To reiterate from another thread

    9/3 Games

Wes Kath had a baller day though. Maybe, just maybe, Chris Getz's new farm director will teach him how to hit.

Not really a great day in the org
  10. Getz meant to send Popeye to AAA, but selected the Sox since Charlotte and Chicago are close on a drop down menu.
  11. I sat here for five minutes trying to figure out who the f*** Rodriguez was. I hope Jason and Stone get the memo about Popeye.
  12. SoxMachine is moving to Nashville!? In all seriousness, I jest. FutureSox and the whole squad running it is awesome.
  13. CC: Everyone that keeps posting Chuck Garfein and the White Sox Talk Podcast.
  14. Until every last player acquired by Rick Hahn is out of the organization, we're gonna hear the excuse for both Getz and Pedro, "well they didn't acquire those players."
  15. After finally listening to Jerry's part, he was talking about Chris' qualifications and said something along the lines of "A few years ago we made a quiet change. We weren't like our draft picks, so we got rid of the guy making them. Then hired a new guy and we love those picks." Basically just shitting on Hostetler, who is still employed by the team as far as I'm aware, to prop up Getz. If Shirley was a Getz decision (and somehow not KW/Hahn?), it was a good one, but it was hysterical to listen to.
  16. I'm still 100% against AJ as a manager (because I don't want a rookie manager getting the job due to being a White Sox hero), but if he were on a coaching staff or coaching one of the minor league teams, I'd be behind it. I'm afraid he'd go insane because he'd be the only self-aware person in the room.
  17. In case no one has posted this AJ clip yet. He misses some details on players — Sheets was a 2nd rounder (who wasn't even in the on-site camp in 2020!) and Crochet was never in the minor leagues — but god damn does he nail it with Getz' record + the Omar Vizquel situation. Also, mentioning Gavin Sheets. Isn't it a massive indictment that two of the minor leaguers that improved their stock the most in 2020 (Sheets, Burger) were ones that weren't at the on-site camp and took their development into their own hands? Yes, Burger was finally returning from injury, but he still wasn't invited to the on-site camp. But I'm sure Getz had to have some input on who to bring.
  18. Dude knew how to sell bullshit.
  19. Chris Getz is the baseball definition of failing upward.
  20. Good thing the person in charge of the whole org is the guy who was just in charge of developing talent
  21. I couldn't watch, but just going off snippets from here, Twitter and Reddit, I only have one takeaway:
