They just did it 3 times behind home at the Tigers game. I want them to die.

With runners in scoring position, Mark Kotsay is hitting a robust .148 Stealth Elf? .750 Cuban Tank? .333

QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 2, 2010 -> 10:57 PM) Sounds like the title of this thread should be changed to "Don't Demote Dayan!" He better not be demoted, I just ordered my Dayan shirt.

QUOTE (Ranger @ Aug 2, 2010 -> 09:19 PM) Kotsay isn't going anywhere. I could be wrong, but my guess is Viciedo is back to Charlotte when Teahen is back. Konerko is getting quite a few off days from the field (he's already 3 games away from his single season high of games played at DH), and Kotsay is the only one that backs him up. If they decide to move Viciedo to first base, it won't be done at the ML level this year and they certainly won't want him playing there down the stretch in a playoff race. I understand nobody likes Kotsy and he's everybody's favorite target, but he isn't killing them and he isn't going to cost them the division. If they lose the division, it'll be because the pitching failed. I'm sorry Ranger, but I can't agree that Kotsay isn't killing them. How'd the Devil Rays win? They haven't been relevant in years

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Aug 2, 2010 -> 07:51 PM) Gilmore was 2-3 with two rbi's. Now hitting .337. He could end up being our prolific singles hitter.

One time at a game during the wave, me and my friends stood up when it came by, but didn't sit down and just stood there...staring.

The fact that Kenny didn't trade Dayan is what has pushed me over the edge to get a Dayan shirt.

Happy birthday guys!

Seriously, he and Viciedo have shown that they deserve to stay over Kotsay. Andruw Jones too, for his defense.

QUOTE (PlunketChris @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 02:51 PM) I was in section 162 (left-center field) last night. We had 3rd row bleacher seats from some season ticket holding friends of ours, but it's an area of the park that gets a lot of walk-up and/or last-minute ticket buyers. Around the 7th inning there was a feeble attempt at getting the wave going by a pretty large group a section over and they were met with very unfriendly words. Really fun game to be at, nice to see the "kids" of the team really win a game. I was in section 154 and yelled at them.

Once Tank develops patience, he will be a monster in the lineup. If we get no bats this offseason (Dunn still?) I'd be fine with having Paulie & Viciedo switch at first and DH next season, even if they are both right handed.
-
God I hope Kotsay gets moved for Teahen.
-
Manny or Dunn and I'm a happy guy.

I want Dayan around for many years to come.

QUOTE (docsox24 @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 01:39 AM) This was one of my favorite games to go to this season. When Lucas walked into the dugout after warming up before the game he went down the line and shook everyone's hand. He was genuinely excited out there, ran off the field after the inning and fist bumped AJ after each inning. It was fun to see the kid this happy to be playing. The standing O he got as he walked out was amazing. And by the bullpen he looked legitimately shocked people knew his name and were cheering him on.

My sister-in-laws dad is friends with Brett Anderson's dad and is from the same city as Harrell, so it was a win-win for him.
-
I really liked seeing him out there tonight. I watched him warm up in the BP and as he finished I yelled "Go get a win for us. Who knows, come back in September?" and he smiled. You could tell it was the night of his life.
-
Was at the game...Harrell showed up to play. I think Holmberg too was a vast overpay...would have sent a Santeliz or Cassel instead. However, if the reports are true and the Sox are trying to trade for Dunn without Jackson and they get that done without giving up Dayan...it'd be a master move.

God damnit Jake Peavy. And Kenny, our collective hearts can't handle this every year...and I'm going to tonights game.
