  1. Seriously, he and Viciedo have shown that they deserve to stay over Kotsay. Andruw Jones too, for his defense.
  2. QUOTE (PlunketChris @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 02:51 PM) I was in section 162 (left-center field) last night. We had 3rd row bleacher seats from some season ticket holding friends of ours, but it's an area of the park that gets a lot of walk-up and/or last-minute ticket buyers. Around the 7th inning there was a feeble attempt at getting the wave going by a pretty large group a section over and they were met with very unfriendly words. Really fun game to be at, nice to see the "kids" of the team really win a game. I was in section 154 and yelled at them.
  3. Once Tank develops patience, he will be a monster in the lineup. If we get no bats this offseason (Dunn still?) I'd be fine with having Paulie & Viciedo switch at first and DH next season, even if they are both right handed.
  4. God I hope Kotsay gets moved for Teahen.
  5. I want Dayan around for many years to come.
  6. QUOTE (docsox24 @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 01:39 AM) This was one of my favorite games to go to this season. When Lucas walked into the dugout after warming up before the game he went down the line and shook everyone's hand. He was genuinely excited out there, ran off the field after the inning and fist bumped AJ after each inning. It was fun to see the kid this happy to be playing. The standing O he got as he walked out was amazing. And by the bullpen he looked legitimately shocked people knew his name and were cheering him on.
  7. My sister-in-laws dad is friends with Brett Anderson's dad and is from the same city as Harrell, so it was a win-win for him.
  8. I really liked seeing him out there tonight. I watched him warm up in the BP and as he finished I yelled "Go get a win for us. Who knows, come back in September?" and he smiled. You could tell it was the night of his life.
  9. Was at the game...Harrell showed up to play. I think Holmberg too was a vast overpay...would have sent a Santeliz or Cassel instead. However, if the reports are true and the Sox are trying to trade for Dunn without Jackson and they get that done without giving up Dayan...it'd be a master move.
  10. God damnit Jake Peavy. And Kenny, our collective hearts can't handle this every year...and I'm going to tonights game.
  11. Only way I see this going down is if Jackson is flipped for Dunn, which I then love this deal as the Nats wanted Hudson + Flowers/Danks/Morel. Then you just flip some other guys for a starter and go to work.
  12. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jul 29, 2010 -> 09:15 PM) Did the Twins really trade their best prospect for Matt Capps, stright up? Man, the value of relievers is just ridiculously high. Imagine what we could get for Putz, Thornton, and especially Sergio! A king's ransom. This also ruins any Flowers deal for Dunn.
  13. Brett Wallace is already a journeyman.
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 29, 2010 -> 01:23 PM) All time? Either you have a list of like 700 stupid baseball moves or you're slightly exaggerating. All time in past 3 years*
  15. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jul 29, 2010 -> 10:58 AM) The Phillies really f***ed up by trading Lee. I thought it was dumb in the first place, and last time I checked, the players they got back haven't been doing much either. It's one of my all time stupid baseball moves, along with the Rays drafting Tim Beckham.
  16. I'd do this if Hudson was used to get a Fielder/Dunn as long as we don't overpay on Lilly because... 1) He'd be a fine 5th starter. He'd be worse in the Cell, but you can do worse as a fifth starter. 2) He's a Type A FA and he won't accept it on this market. With the way team has been drafting in the first round lately, those could be good picks. 3) If he accepts arbitration (I have no thought that he would) you could flip him to some team who would like having him for a full season. 4) Blocks him from the Twins
  17. :headbang :headbang :headbang I love winning
  18. Keith Law is an idiot. Omar Vizquel is possibly the best fielding SS ever.
  19. Want Griset soooo bad...especially if Huddy is traded.
  20. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jul 28, 2010 -> 08:07 PM) Jayson Stark reporting Pods to the Dodgers for two minor leaguers. The weird six degrees of Kevin Bacon thing that's happening between Pods and Pierre continues.http://twitter.com/jaysonst/status/19784826644 This is just weird.
  21. QUOTE (J.Reedfan8 @ Jul 27, 2010 -> 11:16 PM) Bulls in trade talks for Rudy Fernandez. Could be a very good match. Portland is crazy though if they are still asking for the moon. Bulls draft pick(s) "should" be able to get that done. Do want.
