QUOTE (ChWRoCk2 @ Jul 12, 2010 -> 07:46 PM) Chris Richard was released I believe. He's back on the Summer League roster. Alexander mysteriously disappeared though.

Hawk and Stoney worst broadcast booth in baseball (according to GQ)

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 12, 2010 -> 05:32 PM) Regardless of your opinion on Hawk, his impact is long lasting with the Hawkisms. You hear them all the time, it seems like some announcers use them and don't even realize it. I've heard can o' corn on BBTN from time to time. Hawk has the best HR call in all of baseball. -
1) Randy Williams being sent down 2-5) Pick and choose.

QUOTE (sircaffey @ Jul 12, 2010 -> 05:33 PM) If there was any "slave master" in that situation, it was LeBron. He dictated everything that went on during his era in Cleveland. Jesse Jackson is a nitwit. To add to the insanity, Wilbon agreed with Jackson. Also, the prospect of two curly haired white guys from Gonzaga intrigues me...

I think the Heat will burst out the gates for what its worth, but one thing is overlooked. Every team is going to step up their game and intensity against the Heat. It'll be hard for the Heat to keep the intensity up all year without injuries. I really hope Otis Smith doesn't match for Redick, I actually like this roster a roster where we resign Brad, Law, and look at Bouldin, Byars, Richard, and Alexander (even though Alexander has mysteriously disappeared from the Summer League roster): PG: Rose - Law - Bouldin SG: Redick - Korver - Byars SF: Deng - Johnson - Alexander PF: Boozer - Gibson - Richard C: Noah - Asik - Brad That's assuming you can get Bouldin, Byars, Alexander, and Richard on min. contracts, which you should Brad would be the Lindsey Hunter type tutor (that can still play somewhat) for Noah, Gibson, and Asik, Law showed some good stuff in his 2 starts last year, while BBAR would all be there for mop up duty or to surprise us.

Thome will go in as an Indian. Only way he would have went with the Sox if he was still here and hit 600 and 650 as a Sox player, and even then its a stretch.

One of Andruw-Kotsay gets DFA'd for Teahen. I lean towards Kotsay. Lillibridge stays with team, Teahen becomes DH with Omar/Dayan at 3rd. Kenny does some crazy move that none of us see coming but it makes all the sense in the world. Alejandro De Aza sees some time on the big league squad. Gordon Beckham hits .300+ from here on out.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 12, 2010 -> 02:00 PM) I live in Las Vegas, and so I have the Extra Innings package, and so I get to watch a lot of different broadcast teams. Sometimes I want to watch our broadcast; sometimes I can't; sometimes I don't want to. But I will say this much...I would rather listen to the guys that openly root for their team than the ones that sort of do, but try and hide it in the interests of professionalism. Because when that big moment does come for their team, they are usually unable to hide it, turn into this rampant homer, and that's when it gets really, really annoying. This is why I love Hawk. His job is to call the game for Sox fans, not everyone. -
QUOTE (Sonik22 @ Jul 11, 2010 -> 07:06 PM) No, I have something against horrible music though. What about the horrible spelling in half her song titles?

QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jul 12, 2010 -> 01:50 AM) Jesse Jackson would never make a non racial situation about race Your signature implies that black men aren't full men and participate in a degrading business.

I'd love for there to be tampering... The Joe Smith T-Wolves cost was 3 first rounders and the last year of his contract voided. So in theory, it would cost the Heat 6 first rounders and a year off the contracts of Bosh and James. That would be hilariously awesome, especially since they essentially gave all their picks to the Raptors and Cavs.

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 11, 2010 -> 11:33 PM) I've been looking up as many speedy outfielders as I can lately as Pierre seems like a guy who could be replaced. Guys who would look good include Brett Gardner, Andrew McCuthchen, David DeJesus, Chris Young, Dexter Fowler, Carlos Gonzales, Seth Smith (last 3 all in crowded Colorado outfield) which might mean Brad Hawpe would be good to pick up as a DH type though not exactly an impact bat he's better than Kotsay . Trouble is most of theses guys are still on contending teams, though I'm sure I've overlooked a few players Pitching will be much harder to find but with Mark getting hit by a line drive recently and Freddie's always suspect health it might be wiser to somehow find a pitcher. Maybe Kenny can find out if Jarrod Washburn has anything left in the tank . I'd die of joy if we got any of those OF.

QUOTE (Real @ Jul 11, 2010 -> 07:41 PM) SEVEN games against the Rangers? LOL That is awesome.

Can't believe it, but I agree with Greg.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 10, 2010 -> 04:39 AM) IF this is true, I'll pray from here on out that LeBron somehow meets a very violent (and torturous) death. No joke here. Go ahead and suspend me if you want. I've never hated an athlete like I hate this motherf***er. I don't know about that, but it'd be great if the Cavs had all his friends under contract and made them finish them out.

QUOTE (IamtheHBOMB @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 01:22 AM) They won't be unbeatable. At least for this year, I have hope. Come playoff time, Bosh, Wade and James will have a s***load of wear on them because of the heavy minutes they will have to play during the regular season. Their roster is going to be pretty sucky outside of them. By the way, I love Noah's reaction to the news of LBJ going to Miami. Joakim is the antithesis of LeBron -- he digs in with his guys and f***ing battles. I love that. Noah is my favorite player in the NBA and I hope he wipes the floor with whatever center Miami runs out there.

QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 12:44 AM) We need a SG. . . somebody call MJ. Only play home games until the playoffs. No Cigars, No cuban women, no motorcylce racing. MJ can do it. He and Bill Russell are in talks with the Heat.

QUOTE (T R U @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 11:34 PM) Why did he have to say no though? All he did was answer some questions, say where he decided to play, and then answered some more questions.. It wasnt 58 minutes of LeBron hype followed by a closing of where he signed.. The "special" wasnt what I expected.. it was basically the ESPN people talking it up, then it was LeBron and some guy for a few minutes and he pretty much came right out and said where he signed.. and then it was ESPN again.. Honestly, I really thought it was gonna be an hour long show where he didnt say until the last few minutes.. but to me it just seemed like it was ESPN who pushed for this the most.. not LeBron like I had originally thought He could have told Dan Gilbert ahead of time.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 11:28 PM) It doesn't matter if you have a great villain if there's no one to challenge it. A lot can happen in one year in sports. A rival can arise.

QUOTE (T R U @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 11:26 PM) Man I am gettin tired of seeing people bash him for not "sticking" it out in Cleveland.. Gimme a break, he was there for seven years and they never put anything around him to get that team a ring.. I don't feel bad for them one bit.. Its absurd to sit here and say he should have stayed in Cleveland and tried to win championships there when he has no control over the roster and how their money is spent.. and secondly, if he would have signed with the Bulls no one would be saying anything about him right now.. but because he signed with Wade and Bosh hes some villain.. I don't get it.. and just to toss this out there, but the contract details aren't even done yet and LeBron himself has already said all three of them are going to be taking less money to make this thing work.. if all of them are only making 15 million next season that's still going to give them what, like 13 million to play with and fortify the roster? That team is gonna be fine, and I already expect them to win the title next year.. It's how he signed. He basically flipped off Cleveland by doing that special. If he had signed with the Bulls, it would have left the NBA some room for on paper competitiveness.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 11:21 PM) Ok, he needs to shut up too. This is going to be such an easy league to not care about. The other 29 teams should remove the Heat from the NBA and give Seattle a franchise back. That would be hilariously awesome.
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 10:40 PM) He just lost $200 million to this 25 year old. His franchise might well wind up bankrupt in a couple years because of this. Especially after he catered to LeBron's every whim.
-
Shaq for the minimum is hilarious. Does anyone not remember how he was practically driven out of Miami? Or how he literally has nothing left in the tank?
-
Well, Bulls have 16M to fill out the roster. I really miss Kirk though, he'd mess things up for Wade.
-
Another thing: MJ, Kobe, Bird, Magic...all of them are laughing. They know LeBron wimped out and can't make a legacy on his own, and Wade will always have one more ring.
