  1. Funnily enough, I met an assistant to Ozzie's dentist when I went to camp early this summer, he was my counselor. He too, said Oney is an ass.
  2. QUOTE (sircaffey @ Jun 25, 2010 -> 05:48 PM) Sure he has a purpose. You need a quality 6th man that can rebound and score. It'd be nice if he didn't make so much money, but if Deng doesn't stand in the way from signing LeBron and Bosh then he's worth keeping. Not to mention when Deng is on the floor with Rose and LeBron, he runs the floor very well and his mid-range game is money. The perfect type of 6th man is Kirk (defense, good combo guard) or Ben (instant offense)...definitely not Deng. In fact, it seems like Gibson will become the 6th man for defensive purposes. Plus, for his contract it's not a "it'd be nice if he didn't make so much money" as it is a "For that contract, he has to play or be traded" and when trading him clears up room for a Ray Allen type shooter, you do it. For what its worth, my gut tells me Deng will be in Sacramento for a future pick.
  3. QUOTE (sf_soxfan @ Jun 25, 2010 -> 05:42 PM) I am Batsh*t Giddy - when was the last streak of 10?? 1976. This team is being quite remarkable.
  4. QUOTE (Wanne @ Jun 25, 2010 -> 05:37 PM) can't wait to see that film...what a nut bag. Must see TV?
  5. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jun 25, 2010 -> 04:49 PM) I'll take it, it was a rocket but right at Colvin. Any good from Gordon's bat is awesome. Like I said, the Cubs series his last stand to stay in the bigs, and he's showing he wants to stay.
  6. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 25, 2010 -> 02:38 PM) That dude does have a point. Fangraphs and other Sabermetric oriented sites we're blowin' their loads all offseason over the Mariners. Defense is nice. But you still have to score. It was pretty clear the Mariners were going to struggle mightily offensively. But that was overlooked because I guess the Mariners were supposed to be able to win every game 1-0 with the defense saving 10 runs a game. Sorry, not in this era or this league. No kidding. I thought the Mariners would win the AL West, but I also thought that because I thought the AL West would suck and they could get more then 1 run a game. But seriously, I never understood the hate for the White Sox that every single publication always seems to have. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 25, 2010 -> 02:39 PM) Agreed. I think they would have the Padres record if they were an NL team... The Sox would be a 100 win team in the NL. Right now.
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 25, 2010 -> 04:08 PM) There's no way they sign Lebron and don't move Deng to fill their bench. No way. One can hope.
  8. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jun 25, 2010 -> 02:54 PM) On what planet does Hinrich give more production on the court than Deng? They were able to find a taker for him because he is making less money and is signed for less years. Luol Deng PER last year was 16.1 (league average is 15) Hinrich's was 11.6, TS% was .531 Hinrich's was .501, Deng has higher rebounding rates, a lower turnover percentage and a higher usage rate than Hinrich. He has also had a higher number of win shares each of the last 4 years. The only area where Hinrich trumps Deng is in assist rate. You can look at basically any statistical analysis or just watch the Bulls play and it is clear Deng is the better player. http://www.82games.com/0910/0910CHI.HTM On the planet where we have LeBron James, Chris Bosh, and 2M more cap space. Kirk Hinrich just fits and rounds out a starting five of Rose/LeBron/Bosh/Noah better than Deng. Sure, he's no great shooter, but he takes pressure off of Rose to defend the tougher guard and thats not taking into account Hinrich's team first attitude compared to Deng's me first attitude. Plus, that $2M could go towards a 3pt shooter. Now, that being said if I'm starting a team and have to pick either Deng or Hinrich to build around, it's Deng.
  9. If WWW really said those things...then holy ****. That makes me far less sad about Kirk (still miffed And I didn't mean the 5yr/55M contracts Deng & Ben were offered. I meant the 6yr/71M Deng contract that ultimately drove BG out of town and now Kirk. And trust me, I have never liked Deng, even when everyone said he was going to be an All-Star.
  10. The Crawford ship has sailed, and I remember Kenny trying a Q-Crawford swap this offseason.
  11. QUOTE (bighurt574 @ Jun 25, 2010 -> 09:18 AM) We've won 9 in a row and 13 of 14. I'll wait til we lose a few to suggest big changes. Agreed. Unless its bringing in a big bat, not thank you.
  12. Screw you Bulls, screw you. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baske...0,3403018.story Not so much do I dislike Duhon, I actually really like. I'm just bitter about losing both BG and Kirk because of Deng's contract the past two years...and thats how I see it too as I have never liked Deng or his contract, yet Kirk was my favorite player and BG was my second favorite until Noah was drafted, and then, they were still 2 and 3. Don't get me wrong, when the Bulls get LeBron + Bosh, it'll make it better, but if there is one man I never want to see wear a Bulls uniform again is Luol Deng. If anyone should still be around as a link to the Bulls revival, it should be Ben or Kirk, not Deng who has complained about being second fiddle to Rose & Noah and not liking how they don't pad his stats. Now that I got that out, who's captain next year? I think it will be Noah. Official reason Kirk was awesome? This is under his likes on his Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/pag...se/302024092833

    QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 25, 2010 -> 01:51 AM) From delusion lead me to truth. From darkness lead me to light. From death...leadme to eternal life. Soxtalk, I solomly swear that i will no longer jerk off in public with the possums and racoons/ What the hell did you do J4L?!
  14. QUOTE (qwerty @ Jun 25, 2010 -> 02:01 AM) I fully take that as an insult, which it likely is intended to be. This 9 game win streak started on june 15th against the pirates. Coming into that series the pirates lost 8 consecutive games. You better believe they have something to play for at that point. No one wants to lost 8 consecutive games, let alone 12, or potentially worse... even the worst team in the majors. Do you know how hard it is to prevent a team a win after 8 consecutive losses , 9, 10!? Then to prevent a team during that very same winning streak from extending their five game winning streak to 6, or potentially even greater? Unheard of. No to mention they extended a three game losing streak the nationals had to six... a team that was, and is to this day not terrible. We even faced strasburg, something this league may have never even comprehended up until this point. While the nationals are not even league average, they do indeed have talent, and promise. The first six wins were on the road. Winning six games in a row, on the road, against even the worst of teams in the league, is an accomplishment in itself. I don't see how this can be considered anything other than a spectacular run... barring everything they had to do to lead up to this point. Even if they end up 20 under by the time the season is over... the sox brought happiness to each and everyone of us... even if it was just for 7 to 10 days out of the entire season. It's something. Enjoy it. This may be one of my favorite posts of the year .
  15. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 25, 2010 -> 01:38 AM) What kinda s*** is that? That's like me thinking about a 3-some with Ugly Betty and Sophia Bush because they happen to be in the same state. It's just a tease and torture unless it actually happens. But when it does happen, the excitement will be everywhere. (Yes, that was innuendo)
  16. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 25, 2010 -> 01:23 AM) I need to hear shipps thoughts. It'll be roughly along the lines of: ahehbegbgbguhgjwkjnmjgjgjg Just a hunch.
  17. For whats its worth, I think the Cubs series is Gordon's last stand to show he can be his old self.
  18. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 10:34 PM) Heh, apparently this is one of the upcoming 30 for 30's: "Steve Bartman: Catching Hell" The one before that is Jordan Rides the Bus, about how Jordan was in AA.
  19. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 11:04 PM) You're surprised? I thought the Pacers would take him.
  20. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 09:56 PM) How does that make any sense for the Hornets? Magic won't have first round draft picks for the next 50 years.
  21. Random question: Whatever happened to Waldo the White Sox Wolf?
