  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 09:26 PM) I love how it's been called the first ever 28 out perfect game. Joyce better be careful, as Leyland will put his cigarette out on his arm and then Cabrera will pour alcohol on the wound. My dad just reminded me that his friend Milt Pappas is still pissed about losing his perfect bid, and that was 40 years ago. That makes Galarraga that much more amazing that he didn't even get mad right there.
  2. That was a really good catch. Too bad this season sucks.
  3. Apparently, Rendon was drafted in the 27th round by the Braves in 2008. I wish we had half the scouting team that they have.
  4. QUOTE (danman31 @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 06:34 PM) It's funny the trend is to say sick of safe picks when the Sox haven't drafted a safe pick in the first round since '06. Poreda may have had a limited upside, but he was anything but safe (I guess that speaks to how bad of a pick it was). I liked him, Gordon, and Mitchell. The problem is, everyone talks about the normal type of Sox draft pick, and it describes Kyle McCulloch more than any of those 3.
  5. We haven't completely ruined a prospect for at least a year, so Thompson and Mitchell.
  6. I really wish the Braves were buyers right now.
  7. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 08:13 PM) I'm not sure why this game is pushing me over the sell barrier, but it is. Same here, and I'm never in sell mode.
  8. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 08:04 PM) M-Cab and Leyland gave the umpire enough s***. Armando didn't have too. I was waiting for the M-Cab ejection to absolutely anger the Tigers.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 08:00 PM) All 15 people in attendance boo. Screw this, let's lose every game and get Rendon. As much as I'd hate to see this season end like that, I'm for it now.
  10. Meanwhile, on the South Side, Gavin is a far cry from the guy who once flirted with no-no's.
  11. Chances that MLB over turns a call that bad?
  12. It's time to hire some new umpires MLB.
  13. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 07:50 PM) That is horrible! At first I didn't want him to get it, but now I feel bad for him. I'm a bit miffed because it should have been an actual hit or something. Ump's running, because Miguel Cabrera will kill him.
  14. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 07:46 PM) Buehrle's feels like it was 10 years ago. Come on Donald.
  15. Even though he was farm from great in his short time with us, it was a treat for me finally being able to see Griff play a game when he was here.
  16. This is one team I will not hope for the game to be a perfect.
  17. That may be the oddest text question I've ever seen.
  18. I don't get Versus ****. Oh well, good job Omar. Edit: Man, Rios is awesome.
  19. I still want Austin Wilson or Anthony Ranaudo. Sick of "safe" picks.
  20. I still say he doomed the 2009 season. Buehrle's start after perfecto, making a run at another, Dye hit's a homerun and Stone yells "And Dye puts the Cubs ahead!" Next inning, shot at 2 perfects over, Sox season completely falls apart.
  21. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 03:54 PM) Man, i'm waiting for the first couple of hit pieces on Teahen to come out. If he doesn't turn it around quick, we're going to hear about how Ozzie thinks his attitude doesn't fit in with the makeup of the clubhouse, and he's going to get, "Swishered" out of here. I don't think the book is closed on Mark Teahen. He looked like he was turning a corner before he went down with his injury. I know his defense was terrible, but he's still a good guy, works some of the best at-bats out of anyone on the team, and is still a hell of a lot better then Chris Getz and Josh Fields. I greatly enjoy him as a person, but man his defense is killing me when Morel is apparently studly on defense.
