QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ May 8, 2010 -> 11:37 PM) Well to be fair, the BoSox had a bit more "interesting" playoff run with the whole greatest comeback ever thing while the Sox just beat everyone Kids, remember, if you play like crap to start, then get good, people love you.

PK's Projected Line from ESPN: 153 H, 28 2B, 74 HR, 153 RBI, 114 BB, 62 K's, .284 average. Paulie, make it happen. A-Gon Stuff: http://msn.foxsports.com/video/?vid=97e039...00-183c363563b0

The rotation looks like its become what we though, now, if the rest of the lineup just starts hitting their career averages, this team will win games.

QUOTE (TitoMB @ May 8, 2010 -> 07:34 PM) there goes the shut out, the perfect game, and the no hitter, all in one swing I hate when that happens.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 8, 2010 -> 11:16 AM) 2-1 Record 1-2 2.61 ERA 6.31 21 K 31 4 BB 21 0.77 WHIP 1.60 Which one is the former NL Cy Young winner and which one is B. Cecil? The answer is C. We all know who is who, but JFP looks like he's turned the corner. In fact, the past couple starts, everyone but Gavin has.

GT: Blue Jays @ White Sox, Fri 5/7, 7:10pm CT

QUOTE (fathom @ May 7, 2010 -> 10:34 PM) I would give KW so much credit if he just got power hitters at all 9 positions, and then tried to outslug everyone. No more slap hitters, no more bunting. Power is the way to go with our damn park. -

QUOTE (fathom @ May 7, 2010 -> 10:13 PM) Wow, what an awful pitch. Putz is just not right. WHERE THE f*** IS SERGIO SANTOS? This went right through my mind. -
Well, that game sucked.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 6, 2010 -> 01:45 AM) This. And it's getting sad. Sad that we can't get him, sad that Boras is representing more and more guys, or sad that we don't sign Boras guys?

QUOTE (Kalapse @ May 5, 2010 -> 08:12 PM) Supposedly he accomplished the feat on March 2nd or 3rd but 2K Sports didn't verify it until now to keep up the illusion that people still had a shot at the million. There were more than a few perfect games thrown within the first week the game was available. This explains why that took forever. I figured the contest would be over in the first few hours.

Sandoval wants Sox to move out of Camelback Ranch
Quin replied to SouthsideNorthsideFan's topic in The Filibuster
While the Arizona law is incredibly stupid and bigoted, from a business standpoint, that'd be a horrible move after just building Camelback. -
Rank the White Sox minor league outfielders on MLB potential upside

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 5, 2010 -> 07:02 PM) Doesn't Shelby's inability to play CF limit his potential? He really has to be like Chone Figgins with lower OBP but more power to occupy LF/DH on our roster. Then again, we DH the likes of Pierre, Kotsay and Vizquel, and he probably will put up higher OPS numbers than all three of those guys at this point in their late careers. With Shelby, you're talking 15-18 homers, lots of doubles and triples sprinkled in, streaky streaky hitting, maybe 18-24 steals??? Kind of like Ray Durham (albeit lesser version of Ray-Ray playing LF instead of 2B). The question will always be K's/contact and OBP with Shelby, yes? Fair comparison? If not, who would you compare Shelby to in terms of current power/speed combo players? ...pretty sure Shelby has mainly played CF throughout his career. In a hypothetical situation where Quentin and Rios are both gone, he'd be my 4th OF for the Sox, behind Trayce-D2-Mitchell in a few years. -
Wasn't he speculated to go much higher? Plus, Boras is his head advisor...it wouldn't happen.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 6, 2010 -> 01:01 AM) Santos ties a rookie record. Who said you have to eventually give up a run Sergio? You could just not give up one all season, that'd be fine.

What happen to AJ being an intelligent baseball player? He could have been out there. Good job Carlos.

Who needs home runs? Go Andruw!

QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ May 5, 2010 -> 01:17 PM) Jose Contreras is temporarily going to be the closer for the Phils: http://sports.yahoo.com/fantasy/blog/roto_...=fantasy,238335 He's also throwing the hardest he has in his career and has a 14:0 K:BB. Dang, we should have kept him as the long man. But in all seriousness, good for Jose. Guy always gave heart when he was here.

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 5, 2010 -> 02:00 PM) I love how Sam Smiths short list is, like, 60 guys. I just said it was short because it was so obscenely long. I want Mo after watching that video.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 5, 2010 -> 02:59 AM) I'm not sure if it's a good thing or bad thing that Sam friggin Smith agrees with me. BTW wasn't Ron Adams the one that Joakim had a run-in with? If so, then I wouldn't want him even if he is a tough, defensive coach. You two almost cited the exact same reasons too... ...Ace has a secret identity.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 5, 2010 -> 02:26 AM) I like Collins, but I doubt he'll be back after JR didn't want to hire him to potentially ruin a patched friendship down the line. Ultimately I would like a D'Antoni-type coach who runs an up-tempo style (to optimize Rose's potential), but is a good defensive mind too. One guy who intrigues me everyday who is not on Sam's list and I believe will be a wonderful pick up is Maurice Cheeks (in fact.. he's probably #1 on my list now, as he was like #5 a week or so ago) Makes perfect sense for Rose and I think he can develop him pretty damn well. Got this from another site. Credentials: - Coached Portland and Philly to the playoffs - Former All-Star PG - Former NBA Champion - Former 1st Team All Defense Selection - Runs an up-tempo offense, while stressing team defense - Chicago Native - Current Asst. for OKC (look at what he is doing for Westbrook) And of course he's known for helping that young girl with the National Anthem when she got cold feet. Real good guy. Regardless, there will always be people complaining about different coaches cause of their weaknesses. There are no Jackson/Sloan/Pop/Adeleman etc.. type coaches out there. I'm just personally feelin Cheeks who in my opinion, makes the most sense out of anyone the Bulls can interview. Assuming no Collins or JVG, I'll say Cheeks-Thibodeau-Corbin/Shaw-Scott-Mitchell is my personal top five list, though Scott moves up or down on my list everyday cause of his work with Kidd and especially CP3 who just loves the guy. I forgot to put in Sam's #1, since he wasn't part of the actual list.

Heres Sam Smith's short list Again, I want Collins, but I'd be fine with Avery/Cartwright/Van Gundy. Calipari is intriguing, since he's a kind of a jerk, but for some reason, guys enjoy playing for him, so if he could lure LeBron or Bosh, do it.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 4, 2010 -> 02:09 AM) As one baseball man puts it, Gordon never was George Brett or Mike Schmidt, so now the Royals are hoping he can become Robin Ventura. Do they mean Robin's bat? Or how he was all around (stellar D, ok bat)?
