  1. At first I thought it might be a front office spot, and was horrified that we'd lose Beckham and Peavy for Strasburg or something else. But, a scout is fine.
  2. Only a half hour longer. Today is like, a holiday for us true baseball fans. Their showing Woodjock. Beckham is so dreamy Got my Buehrle shirt on, and now I'm ready for a hopefully wonderful, wonderful season to kick off. Edit: OH NO! Kenny and Frank are next to each other.
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 4, 2010 -> 10:25 PM) McCulloch sucks. Charlotte actually has some talent this year, and there is no room for him. This will be the year that McCulloch finally turns it all around and becomes a stud.
  4. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Apr 4, 2010 -> 11:20 PM) I watched it because it was baseball that counted and that got me through, but yeah, ESPN is going over the top with it even more this year. One of my favorite parts was John Miller acting shocked that CC wasn't great tonight, I guess it's against ESPN rules to point out that CC isn't very good in April over his career, but again, nobody is allowed to badmouth a NYY!!!!!!!! I'm going to love watching ESPN wonder why Javy will fall flat on his face in NY.

    MLB 10: The Show

QUOTE (Mr. Showtime @ Apr 4, 2010 -> 11:13 PM) I bought the game on Saturday. I played my first game tonight against my brother in law and I lost like 9-0. I got 10 hits in the game but didn't score any runs. I liked the graphics of the game, I found the hitting to be a little hard for me. I'm pretty much a swing at everything unless it's way out of the zone type of guy. I found the base running to be weird, but I didn't have a grasp of the controls yet. One of the things that happened was I had 1st and 2nd and I hit a gapper to right field and nobody scored. The runners advanced one base and stopped. I liked the pitching meter that you use, it reminds of playing MVP Baseball. One of the funny things that happened was that time was called because a beach ball was in the right field area by Ichiro, that was a fun twist. A question for all of the long time Show players I had was, is there any kind of mound charging or anything like that? In the game I played tonight there was a few hit batters, and all I saw was the hitter jaw jacking with the pitcher, and the hitter stopped walking to first and started to talk to the 1st base dugout. Overall, I'm excited to play the game again. I'm pretty sure MLB Slugfest was the only game that had fighting between players.
  6. QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 4, 2010 -> 11:28 PM) Suggestions, then? I've had Uno, Gino's, Malnati's, Giordano's, and Home Run Inn. The best Chicago pizza I've ever had is from Chicago Fire ...in Sacramento
  7. Well, at least those Sweet Caroline commercials finally make sense.
  8. Don't know if Steven Tyler was the most wonderful choice at this point.
  9. QUOTE (danman31 @ Apr 4, 2010 -> 09:15 PM) Ha I was thinking that it's odd that Morgan's comparisons went across race. Is anyone as annoyed as I am by the lights system ESPN has for balls, strikes and outs? How is that preferred over the actual numbers? IT'S COLORFUL
  10. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Apr 4, 2010 -> 09:03 PM) How does Bogut getting injured help the Bulls, when if the Bulls make the playoffs, they'll play the Cavs, and probably be swept in 4 games? Also I think you're being overly optimistic on Noah's output. 15-20? More like 15-10 going forward. A couple reasons I think getting to the playoffs would be good. 1) More playoff experience for Rose, Noah, Gibson and Johnson. 2) We wouldn't end up with the 11th pick and fell annoyed by Bucks getting it. 3) Who knows? Maybe they completely surprise everyone, and upset the Cavs. Did anyone expect Golden State to upset the Mavs? No. Is it likely? No. Would if be incredibly awesome? Yes. Also, yes, I am being overly optimistic about Noah's production, but I did say it'd be much more likely for Noah-Taj to average 20-25 pts and 20-25 rebounds then the previously crazy 30-30 (that was extreme optimism born from last nights game )
  11. Bulls now 1 game back with Raptors loss to Golden State. Bogut's also probably done for the season. Not that I'm happy he got injured, but it helps the Bulls a little bit.
  12. Quick question: Does MLB.TV have TV announcers? I'm considering getting it when I go to college next year.
  13. Edit: I thin Gibson could be a solid 15-10 Guy. But I think Noah could be the second coming of Rodman. And be 15-20. In all fairness though, I could seem them combining for something like 20-25 points and 20-25 points. QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Apr 4, 2010 -> 03:23 PM) I don't think the Bulls have enough cap space for two LeBrons unless there is some special provision for player clones or doppelgangers. Perhaps the second LeBron could feature a handlebar mustache. IT SHALL BE DONE.
  14. QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 4, 2010 -> 06:49 PM) Why is the first series at Fenway? Shouldn't the previous World Series champion have the first series at home? Thats what I was wondering, but I like how when they showed Beckett warming up, it said "Dustin Pedroia, 2008 MVP"
  15. QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 4, 2010 -> 03:01 PM) He already has 4,500. Ah, gotcha.
  16. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Apr 4, 2010 -> 03:35 PM) Am I the only one who found that Ultimate Warrior more annoying than entertaining ? Anyhow, this is expected lineup, I'm not even that mad about Kotsay hitting 5th, I expect Andruw in the lineup for Wednesday game. This might be one of the longest weekends ever, let's get this show started already. I'm lost, how did he get banned?
  17. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 4, 2010 -> 01:00 PM) I just saw the video of Andrew Bogut breaking his arm. O. M. F. G. OUCH http://www.sportsbybrooks.com/video-andrew...ow-injury-28145 While that is incredibly painful look and devastating, that just reaffirms that ESPN was talking out it's ass when they claimed he was fouled hard. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 4, 2010 -> 01:51 PM) Or...if Wade or Lebron winds up deciding to give the Bulls a visit...they can get scoring out of Rose and whoever they sign and rely on the front court to control the middle of the lane. If LeBron signs with the Bulls, I have some horrible feeling Deng will be moved to PF. Now, if you get LeBron and get rid of Deng (Note: This might require a little bit of black magic), suddenly you have: LeBron A guy who can close out games with LeBron, making it easier on both of them. A front court that could average 30 pts - 30 rebs if they both progress. And Hinrich, who would keep defending the tougher guards for Rose. Cap space for a bench. Wade you get the same thing, but Hinrich becomes the 6th man, and Deng's contract is still floating around.
  18. If I could sign Cust for the Andruw Jones deal, I'd do it, but the thing is, he costs 2.665M and brings no defense and would be joining a 3-Man Rotation DH.
  19. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Apr 4, 2010 -> 01:58 PM) Wasn't the AL Central "the best division in baseball" in 2006? Yes. Yes it was.
  20. That says 5000...not sure if we have that power.
  21. Here's how much I loved Maggs when I was 12. When he signed away, I renounced the White Sox and said I would root for Maggs. Until I realized he had turned down their offer, not the Sox not wanting him, in which case, I quickly despised Maggs. Only recently have I rediscovered my not-Hate of Maggs.
  22. A quick thought after tonights game. Gibson is quickly developing into another Noah (rebounding machine with decent scoring) in 1/3 the time, but with less energy. The Bulls could have a 3-Headed Monster Front Court monster if they sign Bosh this offseason.
  23. I love how Rose can now just score at will. Also, Noah with the slam just looked awesome.
  24. Good first half by the Bulls. If they win, and the Bobcats start losing, that could be an epic (EPIC) play in game in Charlotte at the end of the season.
