QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Mar 18, 2010 -> 05:30 PM) Yeah, let me know what you think of those. I am waiting on the OS Rosters as well, but they are still about 3 weeks away, and I don't know if I can last another week. I too am waiting for the OS minors, but they were wonderful last year, so I can wait. Especially if they get Mr. Franchise to work on the faces. For what its worth, if the Bulls are completely healthy, I could see them upsetting/hanging in with any team in the East. -
Danks, Buerhle, and Beckham share their brackets

So, if Rose, Deng, and Noah all return this week, does anyone still think we have a shot at the playoffs? Here's some scenarios: 1) All three come back, Bulls surge into playoffs. Move back one or 2 spots in draft via Bucks swap. 2) All three come back, but Toronto and Charlotte both stay strong, Bucks makes Bulls draft suck. 3) Deng and Noah shut down, season tanks, (hopefully) avoid Bucks swap. -

QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Mar 17, 2010 -> 04:54 AM) The good thing about the trades besides clearing cap space is I think Law/Warrick/Flip can all be solid contributers to this team and Bulls would still have money to bring in a top f/a. Id be very content with a bench that contains those 3 plus Johnson/Miller. You'd need to trade Deng for a cheap contract to keep all 4 of those guys (Law, Warrick, Flip, Miller). And it has to be Deng, as he'll earn around $2M more than Hinrich. If you trade Deng it'd be rather difficult if you wanted to leave cap space to pay for those 4, since you'd need to clear a fair amount of space (don't forget Asik and Gibson on the bench too) -
Facing the Barons in my first start, only one hit so far. Lillibridge made an error that led to 4(!) unearned runs for Cassel (I think) Got the W (6 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 5K)

QUOTE (scenario @ Mar 17, 2010 -> 12:34 AM) Looks like it's becoming a 2-man race between Santos and Aquino. Hudson could be the 3rd man in the race, but the Sox will likely keep him stretched out as a starter in Charlotte. http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/news/artic...sp&c_id=cws It's down to those 3, but man do I want Santos to beat Aquino for it.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Mar 17, 2010 -> 12:02 AM) Bulls would have to lose a s***load of games to get into the top 10. I believe the Clippers are 7 games ahead of the Bulls as far as the #10 pick. Bucks either way you look at it, are sitting pretty. Derrick Roses Magic Lottery? -

QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Mar 16, 2010 -> 10:11 AM) If I had to guess, I'd say... John Wall Evan Turner Wesley Johnson Derrick Favors DeMarcus Cousins Greg Monroe Xavier Henry Pat Patterson Cole Aldrich Damion James I'm sure I'm missing a name or two though. If the Bulls can get a top 10 Pick, who do you take? I'd take... Turner if they're extremely lucky. Henry if they're somewhat lucky. Aldrich if they're lucky enough to dodge a bullet from the Bucks. -
QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Mar 15, 2010 -> 09:19 PM) Yankees? When do they wear a color besides white, black, and gray? I know they have color in their yankee hat logo, but they dont use it. I thought they had white, navy, and gray...?

I heard Harvester of Sorrow from :44 to :49 after the PK line. Awesome

QUOTE (typewritermender @ Mar 15, 2010 -> 12:36 PM) Right but they're not the "black sox." For their aways and alternates the only "WHITE" in the uni is the logo. I'm not sure how "they're not the blue sox" et al. is an argument. Historically they've had plenty of blue & red in their unis. For the record, I'm not mad & I'm not trying to antagonize anybody. But I am legitimately shocked that I'm the only person that's tired of the unis. Zat is all Quite frankly, who cares what color their name implies. The black tops are sharp and have a nice modern look, the pinstripes are almost throw backs to '59 (minus the red trim, add names), and the grey's are pretty sweet looking too. And red or blue is a stupid idea, because of the 30 MLB teams, 23 have red or blue as one of their main colors. The remaining 7: White Sox (Black, White, Silver) Tigers (Black, White, Orange) Orioles (Black, White Orange) Giants (Black, White, Orange) Colorado Rockies (Black, White, Purple) Pirates (Black, White, Yellow) Athletics (Green, Yellow, White) So the Tigers, Orioles, and Giants all share the same color scheme... That leaves around 4 fairly unique color schemes, the Sox, Rockies, Pirates, Athletics. Leave it the way it is, I hate when all the teams colors begin to just be varying shades of a color.

And since the new teams would be in the AL, they could give some aging sluggers one last home.

QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Mar 14, 2010 -> 10:23 PM) Im okay with it. The interleague schedule is bunched up together around June, instead of having that, the league can spread it out throughout the season, there would be at least one interleague series going. Each team has 18 interleague games- so that would be very easy to spread throughout the season. If the league isn't okay with that, then expand. Why doesn't Omaha have an MLB team?- the entire state of Nebraska is baseball crazy. How about Portland or Las Vegas? There are pleanty of options. . "Diluting the talent pool" is the reason I often hear against expansion. I quite frankly, think thats crap. The talent pool went from the United States mainly to the whole freaking world.

QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Mar 14, 2010 -> 10:12 PM) We've had these since 1991 I believe. We won the World Series with these. They will not change them or nor should they. The only thing I miss are these alternates: http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=htt...%26tbs%3Disch:1 I miss the vest alternates...weren't they cut in 2007?

QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Mar 14, 2010 -> 08:13 PM) Is Retherford a good defender at any position? My understanding was that he was adequate at best. Wasn't he voted the Southern League best defensive 2B?

QUOTE (jphat007 @ Mar 14, 2010 -> 06:20 PM) Amen. Nix can get you a few 3 run bombs down 8 runs and a decent amount of walks, but he is worthless at driving runs in. And he's worthless defensively when not at 2nd.
-
QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Mar 14, 2010 -> 06:10 PM) yep. . he'll be a Red Sox or a White Sox by midseason. Stay tuned. . Or, he'll create a new type of Sox. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Mar 14, 2010 -> 06:18 PM) There are quite a few teams who are going to have interest in Adrian Gonzalez. Beyond that, the Red Sox have Youkilis, Ortiz, and Beltre as capable players at 1B, 3B, and DH, and still have Mike Lowell on their roster too. They'd have to make room for Gonzalez before they bring him in. The biggest sleeper in this entire race, to me, is the Mariners. They have prospects to deal, don't have a strong 1B platoon (Kotchman/Garko should be effective, but it's not ideal), and should be in contention all year. I wish Bavasi was still the Mariners GM...would make it easier for us. Zduriencik is an aggressive GM that I can see pulling the trigger.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Mar 14, 2010 -> 06:53 PM) You're kidding, right? The most reviled, hated, despised, loathed White Sox player of the last 10 years is EASILY Scott Podsednik. Anderson, Fields, Betemit, Wise...

Paul Lukas wrote about how they were overdue awhile ago... ...and I still disagree. Changing for the sake of changing is a horrible idea, especially when we had to suffer through so much crap to get the classics we have now. Also, I love the black jerseys.
