Official 2009-2010 NBA Thread
Quin replied to southsider2k5's topic in A and J's Olde Tyme Sports Pub
QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 6, 2010 -> 10:28 PM) I don't really know how to respond to the above post. Print it out, get a red pen, and fix grammar issues? Anyway, Joakim, go get a robot leg, now. I am disliking this losing streak, especially with Miami, Charlotte, and Milwaukee all winning. -
QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Mar 6, 2010 -> 02:28 PM) Q!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! His name, is Carlos. He enjoys torturing the baseball. Can't stand Brenly and Casper...
-
Soriano made a good catch. Since when do they broadcast games in CGI?
-
I'm amazed we try for Boldin at that price. Would have liked to get Rolle too, that would have been a really good offseason.
-
Ray Lewis didn't seem to amused.
-
QUOTE (Kalapse @ Mar 4, 2010 -> 08:45 PM) And worst of all; contracts in baseball are 100% GUARANTEED, at least in the NFL you can cut your old, expensive players loose with minimal collateral damage. I think thats how it should be. If you're gonna have them commit to you for an agreed upon amount of money, you should have to hold up your end of the bargain.
-
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 4, 2010 -> 07:34 PM) Hm. If you add Rolle and Peppers to this defense, we might stand a chance next year. Then give the Cardinals the third they want for Boldin? Let's make it an all Bears offseason. Sign one of the RB's to compliment Forte, and add something in the way of an O-Line, and it'd be nice.

QUOTE (knightni @ Mar 4, 2010 -> 04:57 PM) Part of the fence was locking up the patio area, which was closed because, well, it was early May. I remember watching some guys just hop the fence at Kaufmann. How they weren't caught is still beyond me.
-
QUOTE (knightni @ Mar 4, 2010 -> 11:48 AM) Yeah. But, it's like Cleveland - in so much that it looks like there is no solid way to block blowing winds. I went to Jacobs/Progressive Field a few years ago for a game in May. They had chain link fence as their stadium outer wall and concourse area. You'd buy hot food from a stand and it was cold before you reached your seat. I don't understand chain link fences at MLB stadiums. They had/have that at Kaufmann, and it just looks bad.

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Mar 4, 2010 -> 03:42 PM) Sounds like the Blu Ray reader may be messed up. There are fixes on YouTube I believe, but if not, you're going to have to shell out the $150 to Sony, use your warranty or buy a new one. It's a launch, so I'm fairly sure the warranty is up. But, I found a fix on Youtube. Start a demo/downloaded game and go through XMB to start game, and fixed. Odd.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Mar 4, 2010 -> 12:44 PM) I wouldn't give up Quentin. Him, Gonzalez, and Beckman could be a great long-term 3-4-5. This is why the Beckham talk didn't make sense. For Gonzalez to push this team over the top, you have to subtract next-to-nothing from the MLB roster.

Well, my PS3 isn't reading game discs...not good. Anyone know how to fix this?
-
QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Mar 4, 2010 -> 07:36 AM) So how is Dan Hudson not in the game? Seriously. He is...he's really low on the Sox SP Depth Chart. Where we got all these odd-named stud starting pitching prospects is beyond me.

I love butting heads with my brother on this one. I generally buy Levi's (I generally get a half inch to big though, because otherwise it's a half inch to small, darn you jeans...) and my brother believes those are for country people. I am of the belief that spending $100 on one pair of jeans is foolish.

QUOTE (kev211 @ Mar 3, 2010 -> 12:15 AM) Must be nice having a fairly common last name. Shapiro? I figure it's only in the game because of Mark Sha-pyro, but he pronounces it differently, so its a bit confusing.

Rereading Jennifer Government (or speed reading this time) One line that made me smile. "You got a radio in there? Can it get baseball games" "Yea, I'm listening to one right now" "Who's playing?!" "Yankees and White Sox" "You're ****ting me! The Sox are my team!" --- end happy part.
-
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 3, 2010 -> 12:05 AM) OMFG... the PA in this game just announced "Visit us on [date] to celebrate mark buehrle's perfect game against the tampa bay rays on [date]. There are traditions, and then there are White Sox traditions." Nice, just nice. I'm refraining from Franchise mode until OS releases their Full Minors roster. I'm loving the customization though...my RTTS RF/2B enters to No More Mr. Nice Guy, and my name is actually said...
-
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 2, 2010 -> 09:33 PM) It is fan f***in tastic. Something I noticed: I was swinging like I do in the batting cage at practice, wildly. But now I'm becoming more selective. *Hopes video game batters eye rubs off*
-
Update: Just got off the phone with a Sony rep, the stadiums aren't obtainable at the moment with pre-orders. ...annoying.

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Mar 2, 2010 -> 10:56 AM) Nothing like reading a thread full of arm chair quarterbacking opinions on how a Police force should function, perform their dangerous jobs, how they should look, dress, talk, what they should and shouldn't drive, etc., and how everything they do should be done and done better. And I'd guess 1% of you know what the hell you're talking about. My segway comment was a joke. I think Tesla Roadster's would be fantastic for police, since it would cut down on gas. And there are plenty of bad cop drivers...ones that swerve, run red lights by turning their lights on then right off, and in Anaheim I literally saw a train of policeman do a U-turn in a no u-turn area...without their lights on...and one sticking his head out the window laughing...

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Mar 2, 2010 -> 07:06 PM) You saw what? Me post that on OS? Anyway, since you visit OS, assume you must have seen the thread about the potential player glitch. I suggest not starting your franchise until it gets fixed. I have not...

God ****it. I my preorder code isn't working...
-
Anderson-Fields: Nix Danny Wright: Linebrink Pablo Ozuna: CJ Retherford.
-
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Mar 2, 2010 -> 06:19 PM) I certainly hope you are not asking which is better, because it's like comparing the MLB to Rookie ball. Anyway, I am getting The Show on Friday when I go on spring break. Saw that on Operation Sports, and I felt for ya man. I'm installing it right now. Paulie is the very first player seen in game. ****ing Awesome. It changes every time. This time it was the Perfect.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Mar 2, 2010 -> 03:22 AM) No Gordon in this video, but you get to see Danks pitch with Kotsay, Castro, Pierre, and Ramirez up to bat. Why were the fireworks circles completely black? And something seemed...off? For Castro and Ramirez in terms of how they look. And Nix was playing.
