  1. QUOTE (knightni @ Feb 4, 2010 -> 09:02 PM) I voted Ranger, because I remember his (long) debate with Shack being one of the best forum things I've read in a while.
  2. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Feb 4, 2010 -> 07:37 PM) I'm at the point where i can seperate myself from the prospect loving side of me. Just get me A-Gone, and let's call it a day. We've got in-house options to replace Danks (Mitchell), and we're focusing on pitching in our next draft anyway. A.J's got a couple more years left in him, and we can always find another catcher elsewhere. A-Gone is just too good to pass up. D2 is the one prospect I'd be sad at giving up for AGon, purely because of his brother. I've always been a fan of brother combos in the majors. That being said, from a baseball stand point, I'd be fine giving up D2 for Gonzalez. However, I could see the amount of players sent being lower if you included Mitchell instead of D2.
  3. Was it just me, or was Alexei's face in the 3rd photo hilarious?
  4. QUOTE (knightni @ Feb 4, 2010 -> 04:49 PM) He got hazed in Atlanta too: http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd105/B...arol/IMG015.jpg I just checked to see if he was still eligible as a rookie. He is not .
  5. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Feb 4, 2010 -> 07:39 PM) And I think if Buehrle pitches until about 41, he has a chance to be a H.O.F if he can get around 280-300 wins. World Series Ring, Gold Glove, All-star appearances, 2 No-hitters, Perfect Game. In 9 years he could had 1 more to each one of those things. If he pitched until 41, I could see him accumulating stats that would make him likely for the Hall of Fame. He'd probably get 2-5 GG's (with Mussina and Rogers gone), and maybe 2-3 All-Stars.
  6. I was sleeping for most of the game (I have an odd sleep schedule), but it looked like a combination of poor execution and bad reffing. I now only want to play good teams on the road. It's the only way they can win.
  7. QUOTE (bighurt4life @ Feb 4, 2010 -> 01:27 AM) If you scroll down and read the comments Law gets fairly well ripped by a couple of folks for his anti-Sox bias, one guy even says that he's not a Sox fan just can't stand KLaw's bias. The really funny think is that Law starts responding to some of the critical posts and cries like a little girl with a skinned knee. He's not very professional, that's for sure. I find it amazing that after catching tons of s*** for not including Hudson on his top 100 prospects list he puts Hudson on his impact rookies list, then proceeds to say NOTHING positive about him. One last b**** about him, he obviously hasn't seen Hudson pitch or seen any video on him if he thinks that Dan doesn't have any plus pitches. His fastball sits in the low to mid 90's and I've even heard reports of it touching the upper 90's when he's really throwing hard, on top of that, his FB has crazy movement, if that's not a plus pitch then would someone please tell me what is. Can you post some of the comments? Even those are insider.
  8. QUOTE (flavum @ Feb 3, 2010 -> 10:55 PM) 2010-2018. That's nine seasons. He would have to average 18.33 wins a year to get to 300. So the Sun-Times is bat s*** crazy. I'd like it if he stuck around for 200 wins with the Sox, and added another ring or two. Maybe my memories off on the year they said. It also had Zambrano getting 300 a year after Buehrle. Found it: "I saw a prediction in the paper," Buehrle said recently when asked if there was any chance he'd become the next Randy Johnson, joining the elite club of pitchers to win 300 games. "I'd need 17 wins for another 10 years. I'll be 41 in 2020. If I had to bet right now, there's no way in hell I'll still be pitching when I'm 41." http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writ...hrle/index.html
  9. QUOTE (ScottyDo @ Feb 3, 2010 -> 10:37 PM) He was just on the Hot Stove. They gave him some softball questions ("you pitch quickly..." duh. And "do you like the direction your team is going in?") but they also asked if he was still thinking about retirement after this contract is up. He said yes, pretty firmly, because he wants to spend time with the family. But he also noted that his wife thinks he's full of it. Everyone else on the network agreed with his wife. So do I. What about you guys? He's too much of a competitor to give it up, plus, I think his wife will convince him to keep going. I just want him to pitch till he get's 300 wins (Sun-Times projected it to be around 2018, so he can't retire for at least 8 more years)
  10. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Feb 3, 2010 -> 09:32 PM) I love JFP as much if not more than the next guy (hell, I MADE JFP), but this is Mark's staff, Jake has said as much. He's the face of the franchise, and he's as capable as any of our starters of locking it down. I just got the image of you standing over Poreda, Richard, Russel, and Carter and going "WE CAN ACQUIRE HIM. WE HAVE THE TECHNOLOGY"
  11. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Feb 2, 2010 -> 01:53 PM) Google Tablet (PICTURES): A First Look At Google's 'iPad Killer' Google is the party I'm rooting for in the soon-to-be-3-way OS War (Microsoft-Apple-Google)
  12. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Feb 2, 2010 -> 01:03 PM) While dissing the stadium acting as if we change the name every couple years. 2 names in the history of the stadium? Yes? Even Chase Field in Arizona has had 2 names already in it's 12 years of existence. I think that was his biggest display of anti-Sox mentality. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Feb 2, 2010 -> 01:03 PM) For an idiot and Sox-hater, Law sure seems to be doing exactly what was expected out of him. Yup. When Hudson does well, Klaw can go screw himself.
  13. QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 25, 2010 -> 07:36 AM) I love hearing about his bat speed, however I'm not so confident our system has shown the ability to make more compact swings. And I'd thought what we'd heard about his being out of shape was overblown, but now, I read again that he was. I don't know how the hell a professional athlete can be overweight, for the majority o f the day they are doing physical activity, and have a workout regimen. Eating lots of bad foods.
  14. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Feb 2, 2010 -> 01:39 AM) Cavs b****ing about Mo Williams missing out on the ASG ain't a shock, as they did the same thing last year. Hopefully, they'll get what's coming to em come the playoffs. Mike Brown b****es about everything. "I didn't know they changed the rule so you can foul LeBron" (earlier this year when Noah owned him). Also, the Clippers are momentum killers.
  15. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Feb 1, 2010 -> 11:47 PM) Teams have been coming out and saying hes the around the 10th best in the draft in terms of talent, and along with his signability concerns I see him slipping late in the first round if not later. If Harper somehow slid to the Sox, who here would take him? I definitely would, since he'd be a lefty power bat at catcher, which for all we know, Flowers could work out, be moved to 1B, or traded. However, I doubt Kenny would, what with Scott Boras and him not being a college player.
  16. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Feb 1, 2010 -> 05:47 PM) You still have to assume it's going to be difficult to have Danks and Mitchell in the OF at the same time unless both develop 18-24+ homer power or Mitchell learns how to steal 50+ bags per season. Seems he's pretty raw in that aspect of his game at this point. And the fact that you'd have to make Quentin a DH or try and trade Rios. But I'd enjoy an OF of Mitchell-D2-Rios with Q at DH.
  17. QUOTE (knightni @ Feb 1, 2010 -> 05:30 AM) That's a poor trade for Phoenix and makes minimal sense for Boston. Why not? People should wonder about your train of thought in this. 1) The deal works for Boston because they are horrid at rebounding, would get a guy in Salmons who could make up for Allen's production, and (I think) Salmons is better defensively. For Phoenix, I'd be banking on the fact that they have been interested in Deng the past two years, and would get Davis for PF. 2) For some reason, NBA Trade Machine is frowned upon. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Feb 1, 2010 -> 07:44 AM) I would rather the Bulls make a play on Bosh in the offseason than make a play on Amare right now. I love Amare's game, but that knee worries me for the future, especially considering the commitment the Bulls would have to make to him. The idea of getting Amar'e is most figure he opts out and you'd have cap to sign Bosh. Edit: I hate Mike Brown. He's an idiot. http://www.nba.com/bulls/news/smith_100201.html Sorry Mike, but Mo Williams isn't that great, and you know what? Not a single player on your team not named LeBron would start for the Bulls. Smith made a good point though, other than Wade and James, no player on the Heat or Cavaliers would be a starter for the Bulls.
  18. I like this move for baseball, hate it for the Sox.
  19. QUOTE (knightni @ Feb 1, 2010 -> 08:57 PM) Zeus Harper doth smote yon ball with his lightning bolt. My friend: "Ze chosen von has homerunned!"
  20. QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ Feb 1, 2010 -> 01:35 PM) Buehrle - http://mlb.mlb.com/media/video.jsp?content_id=5699295 get chills everytime. A couple things always amaze me. 1) We had one good defensive player out there, and it was Mark. 2) They we're all so calm in appearance (though freaking out in their heads most likely) during the game. 3) Fields didn't drop the ball and Alexei didn't over throw it. The cynic in me expected that to happen at the time and I nearly had a heart attack.
  21. ESPN's Daily Dime The prospect of acquiring Allen intrigues me. I wouldn't include Kirk, but do you think the Celtics would take Salmons/James/Thomas? Allen would essentially be the 6th man, but he could still score for the Bulls, which they need. But then, you become thin at PF. So here's my crazy 3 way trade proposal (yes, I checked in the Trade Machine to see if it works...don't judge me) Bulls Get: Ray Allen, Amar'e Stoudemire Celtics Get: John Salmons, Tyrus Thomas, Jerome James, Bulls 2nd Round Pick Suns Get: Luol Deng, Glen Davis, Celtics 2nd Round Pick The Bulls get 2 legitimate scoring threats, playing time for James Johnson, and ungodly amounts of cap space in 2010. The Celtics would get that rebounder they need + defense as stated above, as well as a SG to replace some of Allen's production. The Suns get a good PF as well as a SF to replace Grant Hill, and Phoenix has eyed Deng in the past. Then, come summer time, if Amar'e opts out, sign Bosh and Gay/Manu. If Amar'e opts in and Bosh looks to be leaving, try a Power Forward Sign-and-Trade swap using picks. If you enough room left over, sign Brad Miller as the backup center. I like him as Noah/Taj/Johnsons tutor, plus, he can still get assists and shoot from time to time. Also, resigning Pargo wouldn't be crazy. Use the draft pick on a shooting guard (Lance Stephenson from Cincy?) then you have a roster that looks like PG: Rose - Pargo SG: Hinrich - Stephenson SF: Gay - Johnson PF: Bosh - Gibson - Aşık (if he comes State side by then) C: Noah - Miller I'd live with it.

Do I have a girl car?

QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jan 31, 2010 -> 11:56 PM) I'm only saying yes because it's you. Hell, I got s*** from people in high school and I had a black '98 Mustang. I've had a black '99 Mustang and a baby blue '07 Mustang since. That is one beautiful car JPN. Mustangs are the only Fords I really like. Anyway, "girl car" is subjective. My car (model/color in pic below) is called a girls car because of its horn and "cuteness". Well, it was my moms (she got my grandmas Lincoln, but didn't like it, and was able to sell it to mostly cover an 09 black Honda Accord), and is the newest car in the highschool in terms of years. Quite frankly, if you like you're car, you're good. Quick note: My car is also the only car that runs decently at the highschool. It just sucks in snow.
  24. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jan 31, 2010 -> 08:42 PM) Kotsay or Jones I have highlighted my choice.
  25. Keith Law, what's your opinion of Gordon Beckham? Klaw: He didn't win the College World Series. He won't translate to the majors
