QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jan 31, 2010 -> 03:16 PM) In my strange little world 3rd person is VASTLY superior to 1st person. It's just personal preference but I like to be able to see my character on screen and the added perspective that comes with it. It all goes back to SOCOM II, the best online video game experience I ever had, that setup was absolutely perfect in my mind. It added so much to the gameplay when your enemy could see you from around a corner or behind a wall, there were very few times when you were 100% safe in one place. There was an added difficulty to movement which placed great value on stealth combat, knowing your environment, planning out your maneuvers before executing them and not running into a hostile area willy-nilly . Plus in the 3rd person you always know when you're completely behind cover. This is why I really, really liked WarHawk.

QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Jan 31, 2010 -> 05:32 PM) Nah, with Oden/Durant there was a real debate over it, I think Rose was actually more highly thought of than Beasley for the most part. Eh, I always heard until the draft itself that Beasley would be the better player. -
QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 31, 2010 -> 06:59 PM) Johnny Damon's Website He's like Patrick Bateman! My favorite part is how it claims he is still humble.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 31, 2010 -> 04:26 PM) The way Wall can score, you could have them both on the floor at the same time. The Super SSOL. QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Jan 31, 2010 -> 04:47 PM) Not sure that is true. I think Rose was considered the better player but since we had a PG and needed a PF some people argued we should have drafted for need. I heard the Oden/Durant argument. One would be better (Beasley and Durant) but the other could be a top player at premier position. -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 31, 2010 -> 04:15 PM) I believe so. THey can be traded a year after the draft, and a PTBNL has to be names within six months IIRC. I like Mitchell, but let's PTBNL him. I could see Flowers, Hudson, Mitchell, Viciedo + other (Torres and Santos?) working. And it would let you retain D2, Morel, Retherford, and Phegley.

Just for perspective, standard iPods crush this thing in terms of HDD space.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 31, 2010 -> 12:04 PM) Why would you cut Conan to 30 min? Because, he'd be third behind Colbert and Stewart. In all fairness, they could just give them all hour long shows. Thats basically what Comedy Centrals hows all day anyway.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 31, 2010 -> 05:08 AM) I have no idea what we would do with Wall. But I'm a firm believer in that you ALWAYS take the best player available. I don't care about position. Just for perspective, Beasley was considered to be the better player and we needed a PF and had a good PG. It was the rarity of PG's like Rose that made them take Rose. We have a PG like that now, so it'd be foolish to take him unless you can trade him for a star. -
Buehrle. He's been the face of the franchise for a while, so it just makes sense. Plus, he can ride up to the mound in his Sox Motorcycle.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 31, 2010 -> 02:06 PM) Oh, and if he wants to grow his caveman facial hair again, I don't know that he'd sign with the Sox. Jenks has a crazy goatee, but I recall in the early part of 2006 that Reinsdorf required Pierzynski and Crede, and maybe others too, to cut their hair because it was rather unprofessional, and their's wasn't nearly as crazy as Damon's has been in the past. AJ has mega-blonde hair, it's hard to top that... Edit: Just remembered, Swisher.

QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Jan 31, 2010 -> 01:53 PM) Rodgers is an idiot. The Tigers GM has stated repeatedly that the Tigers are NOT interested in signing Damon. Rogermetrics do not fail, regardless of what is bluntly stated.
-
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 31, 2010 -> 01:42 PM) I don't think he's going to care much about the politics of dealing Gonzalez so much as he cares about the prospects he gets back. From everything I've heard, Westmoreland and Kelly are basically can't miss prospects (we really only have one player who could turn into a can't miss prospect at this point in Mitchell) Can't we PTBNL Mitchell at this point?
-
I'll restrain myself from emailing him, because if I did it would be something like "Hey, Johnny, if you sign with the Sox, I'll bring you Rogaine to games I go to to aid you in becoming Caveman Damon again."

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 31, 2010 -> 01:29 AM) The fact that the Bulls are playing so well right now just frustrates me even more. Because ultimately this is still a .500 team. As they have been the last few years. I'd rather suck ass and have a shot at John Wall than make the playoffs as a 7/8 seed and get swept by the Cavs or Celtics. And I still don't believe any marque FA will come here. What would we do with John Wall? Sign-and-trade him to Toronto? Put him at Shooting Guard? Even though Kirk is disliked, unless we're trading Rose, he's better for the team than Wall. He defends the tougher guard for Derrick and moves the ball. Wall would help if we trade Kirk somewhere for expiring contracts, Deng and Tyrus to Phoenix for Amar'e, and sign Gay. Then you can run a super SSOL offense, but my god that would be painful defense. The only way I'd like to see Wall is a sign and trade for Bosh. -
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 30, 2010 -> 11:34 PM) If the Liriano of 2006 returns we are in DEEP s***. That would give this division to the Twins barring the Sox make a blockbuster.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 21, 2010 -> 07:33 AM) Words can not describe the win contained in that video. QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 24, 2010 -> 01:01 PM) Comedy Central could trek out a nightly line up of Daily SHow, Colbert Report, Conan? That would be epic. Thats what I've been hoping for a long time. Do a 2-hour slot of Daily Show, Colbert Report, Conan and give a show to John Oliver or Wyatt Cenac (Wyatt hasn't been on much, but I like him). Also, instead of Oliver/Cenac, see if Lewis Black would be up for it.

All White Basketball League to Form

QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Jan 21, 2010 -> 04:27 PM) Some of this has to do with the home mentality as well. I'm black & I speak proper, but I never thought of it as "talking like white people" until I heard someone refer it to as such. Part of my argument had to be I was bitter about a plethora of situations going on in this idiot town. In other situations, I might think different, but god this town. Also, this Basketball league was on the Colbert Report, and he pointed out how incredibly stupid it is. -
QUOTE (chunk23 @ Jan 30, 2010 -> 10:25 PM) I'd go with Carter, but at least we got value for him. I think we'd be better off with Sweeney than Pierre though, hands down. Yea, I was taking into account what we got, which discounts Chris Young (even if he does fix his abysmal average) because we got Javy who got us Flowers Carter turned into Quentin Sweeney turned into Marquez, Nunez, and Betemit.

QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jan 30, 2010 -> 09:16 PM) Soxtalk official? I'd go with it. It did after all spawn TCQ and Slayer (is JFP for Peavy official or not yet?) QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jan 30, 2010 -> 09:24 PM) Somebody needs to tell Jeff Cox to give up #8. He's a third base coach, I can't stand to see coaches take up low numbers unless they have connection to it. In regards to number #17, it's one of the few available low numbers. Nobody was assigned #31, 32, 33 or 39. No kidding. He can take 88 instead.

QUOTE (scotty22hotty @ Jan 30, 2010 -> 08:07 PM) On a side note: Ryan Sweeney was one of the best fielding RF in '09. Sweeney would be my bet for the prospect most likely to bite us. That's also fine by me since it seems like we won't need him in the future.

QUOTE (CryptviLL @ Jan 30, 2010 -> 07:54 AM) 2010 year of the RTS http://www.supremecommander.com/ -- Looking good http://www.starcraft2.com/ -- looking awesome http://www.commandandconquer.com/ - who knows (other two will probably be better) http://www.totalwar.com/napoleon/?t=EnglishUK - Proper strategy mot just click fest.. http://ruse.uk.ubi.com/ - Bit of world war Dawn of War 2 Chaos Rising already here... RTS for me was killed when MSoft shut down Ensemble Studios. They actually helped an AoE3 mod I helped on so that it could be used on the internet in an ESO sort of way.

I figure the teams of the past (I was wondering it to, the 72-10 Bulls and the 22 straight Rockets SHOULD have accomplished it, right?) always ended up having a below .500 team playing somewhere in the midst of it. -
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 30, 2010 -> 01:04 PM) Rather than complimenting a writer who actually predicts the Sox to win while others get flamed for predicting the Sox do poorly... Neyer's a f***ing idiot, his argument doesn't make any sense, and even he doesn't know how it all adds up. Obviously he has no credibility. What? You don't think Javier Vazquez is the 30th best player of the decade?
