QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 21, 2009 -> 05:47 PM) Chapman switches agents. I was really hoping it'd be Jamie Torres...

QUOTE (greg775 @ Nov 21, 2009 -> 12:30 PM) We're counting on a lot of guys to improve drastically next year. Many assume Rios and Pena and Liney and Dotel will automatically be better. Yet a lot on the board believe Pods, who had an excellent season, cannot duplicate next year and that no way Dye can bounce back. Why do some guys get a break where people assume they will suddenly excel and others can't get the same support? It's something about human nature. People are sick of Dye and Pods I guess and hope for the best for others like Rios and Pena. Personally I thought Pena sucked with the exception of 1-2 outings where he showed some nastiness. I think Dye is done if he insists on fielding, partially because he can't field anymore and he had a massive drop-off, and is getting up there in age with his knee issues. Pods I don't think can duplicate last year, but could do something in between his 05 season and last year. So maybe .290-.300 avg, a few triples, I seriously wouldn't pencil Pods for more than 4 HR, steal around 35 bases (full year, since he) but get caught maybe 20 times... Or he can follow the Pods trend of Good Year-Bad Year-Good Year and completely suck... Rios is just expected to bounce back to his average at the least. A full season with Coop and the Sox may help Pena get his mind in the right place...but he does have really good potential. He just needs to get it. Linebrink I think everyone is expecting at best one good half and thats it. No one mentions Dotel...

I demand to know the sources. Regardless, these Pods talks are just getting confusing, and are kinda like a couple after a rough breakup. Sox: We want you! But we can't make that commitment. Pods: But I'm looking for a long term commitment! Sox: Fine we'll look elsewhere! Wait, no, we need you!

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 20, 2009 -> 04:48 PM) oh look, Cowley said so. his sources are so quick He also wrote something about Cooper defecating.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Nov 19, 2009 -> 09:48 AM) I would've clocked that fat b****. The security almost did, because I was crying (I mean, seriously, snatching balls from little kids?) and they came to see if the foul ball hurt me.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Nov 19, 2009 -> 11:23 PM) Congratulations Vinny Del Negro. You received your first technical foul. It's about damn time you actually stood up for your players. I like Vinny...and wasn't he a shooter when he was in the NBA? I say we suit him up. -

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Nov 19, 2009 -> 06:00 PM) We need bullpen help. Plus Joe Crede B) I'd love to see Crede at 3rd and have Teahen take Nix's role of super sub, but it won't happen sadly. -

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Nov 19, 2009 -> 06:46 PM) Poreda was also in the pen and I said "Aaron! You are my favorite pitcher!" I was not expecting him to turn around and say "Thanks buddy". I then had no idea what to say once he gave me attention, so I just blurted out "We are friends on Facebook!" and he gave me a thumbs up. lol. Almost the same thing happened to me, but I said he was one of my favorite pitchers, since Buehrle takes that title. Saw some fans yell to Pods from left field they love him and him wave and smile. Dodgers fan telling Matt Kemp to play more shallow, Kemp look back and shrug the fan off. Promptly dived missing a ball in shallow centerfield (theshirt 13 inning craze fest). Also heard Michael Jackson died. Talked to an usher who I've seen around the stadium at multiple other games, who then had a Cubs fan removed who was harassing my mom. Had stadium staff speed create custom t-shirts for my dads anniversary and my brothers birthday. Brother and I got free 300 level seats on his birthday and saw Thome's possibly final career HR. Game 1 of 2006 and souvenir WS rings. That's all I got for now. Edit: When I was little, my current high school's marching band (with brother in it) played on the field. The current librarian chaperoned and had them tape pieces of paper in LF to seats so it spelled out GO SOX in big letters. Currently begging band directors to make this happen again. -
If we still had Brandon Allen, he'd be what he was before, trade bait. I always viewed him as such, only thing is I'm annoyed at what we acquired for him.

Buehrle needs to ride that beauty to the mound every game.

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Nov 18, 2009 -> 03:32 PM) Alomar has a great nose for the game. Good luck to him. As long as that luck doesn't beat the White Sox. Well, with my luck, whenever I go to a Sox-Indian's game something bad will happen now. Last time I was at a game where Alomar played, he fouled a ball off me, and a fat lady stole it. Robbing an 11 year old of a baseball = Not cool, not cool at all. But then I got Miguel Olivo to sign my hat, so it worked out.

I resign Wasserman and Kroger, just because it seems like they could be useful if injuries happen.

I think D2 should be 4-star, Mitchell should just be a little lower, and Thompson is too high. But not a bad list overall.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 18, 2009 -> 07:55 PM) I wanted to add that you have done a great job of expanding your knowledge of both the sport and the Sox since you took that job Chris, not everyone has that dedication. I know when you were first hired that your buddies used to joke about it quite a bit, but I think you've more than proven yourself the last few years. And Cowley is still an unprofessional douchenozzle, but I know you probably cant put that out in the open. I gotta agree with this, since Rongey is far and away my favorite Sox media personality. Always keeps me listening to the score post-game.

QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Nov 18, 2009 -> 12:50 PM) Mark Gonzales = Journalist, Joe Cowley = Sensationalist. We have a winner, Gonzales is definitely a class act. So, theres short legs, but obviously Kenny likes Adrian Gonzalez, so theres still a chance.

QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Nov 17, 2009 -> 11:29 PM) I take back every bad thing I've said about him. Get the salsa ready. -
QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Nov 16, 2009 -> 03:18 PM) I'd like to take a flyer on him. Maybe KW does if he actually does trade Hudson. If his price tag was right, I'd go after Sheets if we traded Hudson.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Nov 17, 2009 -> 11:00 PM) EDIT: FYI, Joakim Noah has quickly become one of, if not my favorite Bull. I hated the pick when we made, but he's making me eat monster nuclear crow. He's worked his ass off and become a fantastic player. Leading the league in rebounding right now and averaging a double-double. 13 points, 14 boards so far against the Kings. Love it. Thank god he didn't enter the '06 draft. We'd have drafted him instead of Aldridge, and then we'd have to regret trading Noah for Thomas. Also, can we finally reach the century mark?! Edit: Yup, cam against Sac, but I'll take it. -
QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Nov 17, 2009 -> 11:01 PM) I ask, why would this interest the Angels? Pretty much the same reason why we were interested in Ken Griffey Jr.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 17, 2009 -> 09:56 PM) I have a sudden urge to attempt to do to Cowley what Stephen Colbert has done to O'Reilly and now Beck. Start twittering random things, be just as concerned with Cubs as the Sox, and be a fool?

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Nov 17, 2009 -> 09:32 PM) I wrote Cowley an e-mail talking about how I am a journalism major at Missouri and basically blasting his morals and ethics as a journalists. I told him that he is exactly the opposite of what we are taught journalists should be like. His response: "Go to law school kid. Do yourself a favor. And tell them Uncle Joe sent you. You'll thank me later." You can't argue with all the idiots in the world. Sometimes it's best to let them have their moment and then trick them later. And by trick, I mean, have this rumor be pretty much true (minus the Paulie part )

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Nov 17, 2009 -> 01:22 PM) Oh btw, supposedly a three way may be brewing between the Kings, 76ers and Celtics. Nocioni to Boston Dalembert and Riddens I think to Sacramento Tony Allen, Brian Scalabrine to 76ers. Another player is involved, but I can't remember for the life of me, who it is. I like any trade sending Noce to a contendor, I freaking love the dude. -
D2, because he's playing if we don't get anyone else, and if he's in CF, Ozzie will lead him off. I want us to make a move...
-
I like Blanco as a backup, and this does kinda of raise suspicions for Flowers being on the trading block (or staying in AAA to net more value) Also, what does Cowley say when this comes up? "In other news "Carlheartscubs'' has learned that Bradley is a problem. Paul Sullivan to write a full follow-up this afternoon. Can't wait." Yup, something about a completely other team.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Nov 17, 2009 -> 04:13 PM) Just got the response myself.. It is f***ing ridiculous. Now I'm praying this deal goes through making that moron look like even more of a douche. Ugh, its a disgrace to journalism.
