My friend and are arguing over this, since he said that we'd have no arms left in the system, and then he proposed this: Try to get Poreda as a throw in in the deal, since he didn't uber-suck here. I don't think Pads would do it, but who knows?

Worst. Call. Ever. -
Ok, I missed the party But I'll just break it down: Halladay is a pipe dream, but that'd be one hell of an interesting rotation. Seriously, when you have five all-star caliber pitchers on a staff, that's crazy. So crazy it won't happen. Gonzalez I jump at any chance I get that doesn't take anyone off the 25 man roster (other than Nix and some BP guys) or Danks. I'd have him and Paulie platoon the DH and 1B spots. Kenny having this much faith in D2 is interesting, I honestly won't be shocked if D2 was our starting CF or RF. I'd like to see otherwise, but if that happens, I pray he pulls a Gordon. Don't know about Vlad, I like him, but he's old and past his prime, and it defeats the "young, fast, athletic" mentality. However, I think the best thing to happen would Jerry getting whacked out on some drug and giving us a payroll to match the Yankees, allowing us to buy Halladay, Gonzalez, Crawford. No team would ever match that ferocity. Or it's unlikeliness.

QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Nov 8, 2009 -> 07:54 PM) I wouldn't oppose a guy like Hideki Matsui being our DH. The dude is pretty clutch and they could play this song when he comes up to bat: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k6rDWqjnW7w I wouldn't mind that, since Matsui is good and that's great batting music. Then again, Lillibridge had far-and-away the best batting music, so...

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Nov 8, 2009 -> 05:48 PM) Hell of a long shot regardless.. but just to have everyone's pants creamed alittle.. From Vercey and the NY Post. I'd much rather have Wade. My brother and I talked about this, and how passing His Airness' statue would do the following to people: Kobe: Push him to accept the challenge Wade: Find in an honor LeBron: Be pressured and eventually whine about it. Also, small annoyance, you play a 3 forward rotation then, since Deng is untradeable (if he plays bad, he'd get shopped, if he plays well, they'll keep him and let Salmons walk). -
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Nov 8, 2009 -> 03:14 PM) Are you saing Kenny "The Titan of Awesomeness" Williams JR is a bit too soon?" It's already his dads nickname.

QUOTE (The Baconator @ Nov 8, 2009 -> 01:45 AM) Agreed. D2 is good, and I'm also a fan of the classic 'Jordie' I'm gonna agree here, D2 is probably the best nickname.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Nov 7, 2009 -> 09:36 PM) My god, I love Joakim Noah. I wanted him on the Bulls the first time I saw him in College. I do not regret wanting him. -
Sox prospect wins the Cross City AFL League Prospect Classic. Also, D2 needs a new number since Quentin's got 20. I say he should get 52, since its 50 + 2

QUOTE (CSF @ Nov 7, 2009 -> 04:33 PM) Depends on what provider you have. I think Dish Network is the only major carrier not to carry it. And its horrible. Seriously, why doesn't Dish carry it?

I despise the fact I don't get MLB Network...

Beckham's Deep Thoughts on playing 2nd base

I think if anything, he's just bummed about replacing his two best friends on the team. First it was Fields and now Getz. -
Garfien reports Sox might "revisit" a Thome return
Quin replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I'm all for Thome, if we get a really good RF/LF and don't need Thome to be the monster RBI guy. -
Finished with 5 seconds left.

God I'm hating the Cavs more and more. They complain that the refs didn't bend the rules for them on the last play even though the refs gave them calls all game when they shouldn't have. This coupled with the LeBron leaving the court without shaking the Magics hand makes them one of the least classiest teams in the NBA. -
I dislike Teahen starting unless he becomes a monster at the Cell. And this makes the leadoff spot all the more confusing...

QUOTE (chw42 @ Nov 5, 2009 -> 10:14 PM) If I remember correctly, the foul Shaq committed on Gibson wasn't even a shooting foul. Shaq shoved him out of bounds when he was about to go up for a shot. WTF? He's letting out anger after Oscar De La Hoya beat him in boxing. -

QUOTE (daa84 @ Nov 5, 2009 -> 09:47 PM) lebron with the "what the hell, i'm lebron james how is that not a foul" look on his face....great D by noah The superstar treatment only works so many times. LeBron used it when he traveled and got a foul called on Kirk. Shaq used it when he pounced on Gibson and then stared at him as if he were an appetizing meal about ot be consumed. -
Where will Beckham and Alexei play in 2010 ?
Quin replied to CaliSoxFanViaSWside's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Now with a hole at 2B, I see us signing Orlando Hudson, so leaving Alexei and Beckham where they are. -
QUOTE (bighurt574 @ Nov 5, 2009 -> 02:37 PM) If anyone thinks this is even close to enough for Gonzalez you're crazy. The Padres would laugh and hang up if Kenny proposed this. For the Sox to have any chance, they'd have to build a deal around either Beckham or perhaps Danks or Floyd. Then maybe add in Hudson and a few other prospects. I don't think you need to deal Danks, Floyd or Beckham. That being said, if you don't include them, you need to gut the farm and give up something like: Flowers Hudson Torres Nix Viciedo Hynick Shelby/D2 (like I've said before, I try my hardest to hold onto D2, but if he's the deal breaker, he goes)
-
I enjoy this deal greatly.
-
I found out about this during school when i got a text message about it. I loved Getz, but was not opposed to dealing him...for a good player. I hate this deal if Teahen becomes our everyday RF. I'd much rather have Kotsay play RF then Teahen. However, I love this deal if the following happens: Orlando Hudson/Chone Figgins signed and INF shuffled accordingly. We get another OF, whether thats Pods resigning, Crawford via trade, I don't want Teahen starting, which means he would probably take Nix's roster spot.

Marcus Jordan - Adidas Situation

QUOTE (zenryan @ Nov 4, 2009 -> 10:41 PM) Well Nike already said they had no plans in adding UCF to their roster since they already have Miami, FSU and UF but I wonder if Jordan will talk them into adding UCF now. I could see it now. *Michael walks in* Nike: Look, Michael, we already said no since we have so many other schools under contract. MJ: But it's my shoe, and my son. I am not afraid to publicly denounce Nikes. I'm not afraid to denounce anyone. *UCF gets Nike deal* -
QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Nov 3, 2009 -> 07:29 PM) I dont even know how to respond to this... You wouldnt trade Konerko or Garcia to get pieces for Gonzalez!? Or Jenks? Bobby and Freddy were included because the Padres wouldn't take them. And I wouldn't trade Paulie for anything, just because he's Paulie.
