  1. I call Jermaine Dye "White Guy" since thats what Uribe called him. Also, one time, my brother told his wife "Want to see why Juan Uribe is a pimp?" She thought he said "Laundry Baby Pimp", so that became Uribe's nickname.
  2. I'm glad Beckham didn't change his number. I got his shirt recently. But if he did, #0 would have looked cool.
  3. Fox sucks alot Glenn Beck said no White Sox game They obeyed his wish
  4. I wondered where Stephen A. Smith went...really liked that guy. As for Wise, I meant he's losing the 25 Man Roster Spot. He'll stay in September, but come playoffs, Peavy gets that spot. Unless Wise tells Ozzie he can pitch and play 3rd, in which case Beckham and Peavy will be DFA'd.
  5. It kinda reminds me when Beckham wrote how he was in Birmingham and some adults sent a kid over to get an autograph to be sold
  6. QUOTE (son of a rude @ Aug 15, 2009 -> 02:19 AM) I really want to see Dan Hudson start up here, but I'm not sure if it would be beneficial in the long run... It would probably be better to leave him down there a bit, but damn, i want to see this guy pitch. I assumed that was the plan, but it seems Rick Hahn now only talks about either Beckham's man strength or how Hudson could be up this year.
  7. At least Fatolo Is in Old Country Buffet Eating all the food
  8. So, after I saw the Trib. article on Hudson possibly seeing the South Side soon, I'm confused. When Peavy comes up, that leaves one rotation spot open. And rid us of DeWayne Wise. So what happens? If Freddy pitches well, I'd assume he'd take the fifth starter spot, and Contreras would get Randy Williams' bullpen spot. But what if Hudson also came up for some reason, would he contend for that fifth spot or would he possibly (hopefully) take Pena's spot?
  9. Buehrle is perfect Those who disagree are dumb Skip Bayless is dumb
  10. Hey JPN, nice write up on Retherford. I really enjoyed hearing about his work ethic and character, since its not often you hear about athletes that have both those. I'd ask about Hudson, if he hadn't been moved to AAA. So it'd be nice to hear about D2 since he might be the one we see soonest after Viciedo.
  11. Branderson didn't start, he did get a pinch hit though. And I'll take 5 K's in 10 Pawtucket AB's for Peavy, even if it is AAA.
  12. More proof: On PTI, Kornheiser called Ortiz a HoF guy until the steroids broke out. But of course, Jim Thome wasn't when he had 500 HR, because he was too one dimensional. Heck, Paulie should be in the HoF over Ortiz.
  13. I'd be in favor of re-signing Thome over Dye, because Thome is a better run producer...Dye is the better hitter though, but this is thinking into 2011. Thome would likely sign a one year deal, and retire when he gets 600, and be cheaper. Dye would command more money and would most likely want at least a two year deal, but I think the plan as of right now is to have Konerko DH and Viciedo play 1B in 2011, so that wouldn't work for Dye or Paulie, and I take Paulie in that instance. Re-sign Pods, since D2 or Mitchell will take at least one more year to develop. Re-sign Dotel, since he is a bullpen strength. Call up Hudson to be the #5 starter. Keep Jenks, since he has been a consistent and good closer. Bring back Kotsay, since he gives a lot of flexibility*. Lineup for 2010: 1. Podsednik, LF 2. Beckham, 3B 3. Thome, DH 4. Konerko, 1B 5. AJ, C 6. Quentin, RF 7. Rios, CF 8. Ramirez, SS 9. Getz 2B Bench: Nix, 2B/SS Kotsay, 3B/1B/OF* Flowers, C+ D2, OF^ Rotation: 1. Buehrle 2. Peavy 3. Danks 4. Floyd 5. Hudson Bullpen: Jenks Thornton Dotel Linebrink Carrasco Pena Torres& *= I doubt Kotsay would want to be a bench player, since he has historically been a starter. So if he doesn't reisgn, the bench adds Viciedo to backup 1B/3B. += I wouldn't mind easing Flowers into the MLB, because not everyone is Slayer. AJ could possibly teach him a few things to make him a better catcher (Jake Taylor and Rube Baker all over again?), and this way he could learn the pitching staff before becoming the everyday catcher. ^= Instead of D2, I'd love to see Dye back, and rotate with Quentin and Thome between RF and DH. It most likely wouldn't happen, but they'd all get rest and stay healthy, but I doubt it. D2 could (like Flowers) ease his way into the MLB, and I think he is ahead of Mitchell as of right now. &=Pipe dream, trade Fields for Poreda. Put Poreda in the pen and have Coop help him develop more pitches. Perhaps he could fill in at #5 if Hudson didn't work out.
  14. My list would be: 1. Bringing in Ozzie to manage. 2. Re-signing Konerko. 3. Calling up and keeping Buehrle. 4. Signing JD. 5. Scott Podsednik for Carlos Lee 6. John Danks for Brandon McCarthy. 7. Gavin Floyd for Freddy Garcia. 8. Drafting, keeping, and calling up Beckham. 9. Getting rid of "me-first" type players (OC, Swisher, Branderson, Fields, etc.) 10. Peavy deal, only pitcher I'll even miss slightly is Poreda. Only one I dislike: Ross Gload for Andrew Sisco.
