  1. I would like an experienced manager with no previous ties to the Sox organization, but instead to a winning organization.
  2. My ideal plan was: 1. Fire sale for good talent 2. Smoldering remains of the White Sox start playing well cause sure 3. Win lotto
  3. Bless you @Timmy U for these updates
  4. Rick Hahn excels at two things: Tear downs and extending young players So he definitely needs to be gone after this.
  5. show @cameron_2313 who's boss, Declan
  6. Maddux Bruns cause he's a lefty with First Round Pedigree ™ and Rayne Doncon
  7. Paulie was actually trading for a prospect coming off a down year in Cincinnati and hoping that he'd bounce back. Never played in the Sox minor league system. The 2005 roster was ramshackled together with basically everything - the strong farm system like you highlight - some good (but not blockbuster) FA signings, and career years from guys. Someone else highlighted it in another thread that it probably validated to Kenny and JR that you can win by going cheap, because they didn't need to sign a big free agent. Then they were strong for the first half of 2006 before they absolutely cratered out in 2007. Then they drafted Gordon - and in the same draft they got the future Assistant Director of Player Development, Kenny Williams Jr, in the Sixth Round.
  8. See, I stand by my thoughts that the Sox are actually OK at finding talented players. They're horrendous at developing though. Like possibly the worst in the majors. Look at how many players left the org and have soared elsewhere AND look at how many talented players have come here, including on the current team, and just imploded.
  9. For real, we should be jazzed that the Angels decided that they're going all in and becoming the 2016 Sox instead of trading Ohtani and just losing him for nothing. Like, they've not made the playoffs since 2018 despite having two GOAT level players. Maybe their injured players return and Gio helps them out, but history is against them.
  10. So do the Sox, but here we are with Montgomery and Schultz. MLB and BA have Quero as a back half of the top 100 guy.
  11. I missed this, but you should listen to the FutureSox podcast cause they keep discussing him. But TL;DL - young lefty starting pitcher throw hard
  12. Man all I want is for Vaughn and Burger to turn a triple play.
  13. I will add that the funniest outcome is Vaughn and Burger defeating the Cubs with defense.
  14. Burger at 2B I've changed my mind on an India trade.
  15. At this point I have to ask if this is performance art of a coping mechanism.
  16. I really do truly want to know who's call it was to not extend Rodon a qualifying offer, not give Machado an outright $300M contract, and not pursue Harper to the fullest. Also the classic "call up a top prospect despite the fact that the manager will bench them" move.
  17. Masai has entered his Kenny Williams era.
  18. Unless I'm really fucking up at reading the CBA rules (possible) and have been spamming them across the board incorrectly, if the Sox get a top 6 pick this year, they can't get higher than 10 next year. Tanking next year would only save Jerry money and nothing else.
  19. I think they should have taken him over Lewis, especially cause Lewis is coming off that injury, but I've seen the Bulls burned by Antonio Blakeney and other high scoring G-Leaguers and summer leaguers. Dinwiddie didn't have a remarkable G-League - everyone else was scoring - but he had size and once he had the ball more in the G-League he was racking up assists and steals. I think of Caruso saying that teams look for the dudes that fill up the stat sheet in ways other than scoring when it comes to fringe guys. JFL definitely fills the scoring - and got plenty of boards for a guard in the G-League - but he got 3 assists compared to Dinwiddie's 8. I'm more worried about a Max Strus scenario than Dinwiddie. thank you for listening to my ramble
