Oh god that explains so much.

Not sure who the color guy is, but he just dropped one of my all time favorite "what?" lines: "With all these analytics, we get lost in the scoreboard." I understand what he's trying to say (i.e., people caring too much about the stat sheet vs. on-field production), but that was such a dumb way to phrase it. Speaking of announcers, someone please fire John Smoltz into the sun.

I hope the shift changes help Yoan. Looking at his spray chart, he hits so much up the middle, more than I remember. Here's his batted ball profile: Pull: 34.7% Straight: 41.1% Oppo: 24.2%

CHGO did their ideal lineup (i.e. everyone performing to their talent level) broadcast two weeks ago and it was along these lines. TA - R Benintendi - L Robert - R Eloy - R Grandal - S Vaughn - R Moncada - S Colas / Sheets - L Andrus - R This would be pretty close to my ideal lineup. Grandal, Vaughn and Moncada could all switch spots depending on how they perform.

They definitely did, and I know we'll obviously care more about how Yoan and Robert perform than how Betts and Alonso, but when our players had bad outings it was all over PHT. Good moments from them, TA, Ruiz and even Graveman stopping the bleeding last night (even if for one out)? Crickets. Granted, that game was late as hell. Let's see how Lance does today, but man, DeRosa's managing last night left a lot to be desired.

If those were White Sox players in the lineup, we'd have a dozen posts about their lack of passion. Example: See Moncada and Robert's performance in the first few Cuba games. TA was the only one who looked like he was trying.

TIM FUCKING ANDERSON

They are getting ripped apart my lord.
-
TL;DR White Sox are carrying America.
-
TA puts Team USA on the board, called by Jason. Feels good.

Oscar Colas can't win with these cats.
-
Chapelli, Mieses, Hernandez, Tatum and Ellis coming. (yes, I know I'm the lone member of the Duke Ellis bandwagon and it's fueled solely by his 80-grade name)
-
Tired: Keep Colas down for extra control Wired: Get an extra first round pick when Colas wins ROY and is on the opening day roster
-
Then you and I have very different definitions of what the last three years means.
-
Moncada had a .263/.375/.787 line in 2021 what type of nonsense is this?
-
Cause this is somehow still going. Merriam-Webster's Definition of Conspiracy Definition of conspire Because a word can have multiple definitions, the original intent being made was that the front office was acting in harmony toward the common end of keeping Oscar Colas away from the toxic 2022 White Sox clubhouse, which is not a criminal act.

My dad said this last night and the only reason I told him to hold off was that once upon a time we said the exact same things about Moncada, Eloy and Robert and they've all had varying degrees of success. That being said, you can't read Fegan's Ramos profile and not get hype about him.
-
My dad hasn't been able to stop gushing over Ramos after going to a few spring training games. I imagine that will continue.
-
Andrew Vaughn making a diving play to rob Madrigal was not on my bingo card, but that was fun.
-
I mean, Korea / Japan bad blood goes well beyond baseball dating back to World War II. But on a much lighter note:
-
Hmmm After this: I think we can all agree that our pitchers would like having someone that can genuinely play RF starting on Opening Day.
-
The spirit of Ichiro is fueling them.
-
Have they tried the ol' spinal tap?
-
This is ultimately a hilariously timed column.

Cuba doesn't have a lot of star power right now and the Netherlands has a good amount of Latin talent from its constituent countries. Losing to the Italian Americans Featuring Some Italians, however, is embarassing.
