  1. No, it's gonna last longer. Because now, unless all five starting pitchers (roulette for whoever #5 is) are lights out all year, there will be people going "Katz would have figured out Clevinger and reverted him back to Cleveland form!" Unless he remains on the roster in which case that's just gonna be the story all year.
  2. Because it's the Rockies, I have no idea what Freeland's trade value would be, but anyone got thoughts on that?
  3. Meth lab. He currently plays in Missouri + it'd help address the budget restrictions.
  4. I don't think they knew, but I think James put it best: They only put themselves in a situation where someone like Clevinger jumps at taking the first team-favorable contract put in front of him because they want to go bargain hunting.
  5. Yes, cases like Carlton Fisk getting screwed over are why guys like Clevinger can slide under the radar.
  6. I mean, they readily admitted they hired TLR facing his DUI charge.
  7. The only thing that isn't making this an absolute House of Horrors is the The Athletic saying the Sox didn't know.
  8. Eloy's defense comments frustrate me because he always throws in that he adamantly does wants to DH. I just want the dude to read the room. He can just say he'll do both. The leader comment is whatever, because like, they haven't even been in the locker room together. Of course he doesn't know.
  9. I feel like they also need to physically be in the locker room first before figuring out who the leader is.
  10. Dear lord I wish we had traded Eloy and re-signed Abreu.
  11. Frustratingly, Rodon fell into their laps, but he needed the right pitching coach and health. They finally get him the right coach + he's healthy aaaaand he's gone.
  12. I mean, I wouldn't take three Nellie Foxes, but I would certainly take one Nellie Fox in the lineup. The problem was Madrigal couldn't defend as well, draw walks as well, wasn't as fast nor as healthy as Nellie Fox. If Madrigal gave us 717 at-bats with a .770 OPS and gold glove defense, I think we'd all have been over the moon. Also, Nellie Fox inspired Big League Chew, which automatically propels him to the top of the chart.
  13. Now, objectively speaking, it would be hysterical for the Sox to reacquire Madrigal and for him to tear it up after listening to Cubs fans say that Madrigal was "payback" for the Quintana trade.
