  1. Also, 2005 was fluke-y: They were great. Assembled in a way that made JR and Kenny think they were the smartest guys in the room. They went for it all again in 2006 — but because KW felt so smart he felt comfortable giving up Frank Thomas and trading Rowand. If he was going to give up so much trade capital in that off-season (Rowand, Gio, Young) it was spent in the wrong place — as much as we all love Thome — cause Javy wasn't it. It should have been spent on better pitching.
  2. Ishbia is one of those owners I've thought about that could feasibly do it, but would also keep the team in place. Also based on the Suns' tenure, he and his brother want teams to succeed.
  3. I mean, Getz's first cut was Honeywell, and he just saved the Dodgers' bullpen last night. Dude can't scout, can't hire, can't negotiate and can't develop. It's basically him as a player, just translated to an executive role.
  4. Dude has a NASCAR team and is now threatening to unravel the entire sport, so, weirder s%*# has happened.
  5. Team that "can't hit" had the most home runs in the majors. NYY and LAD had the highest WRC+ in baseball. That's a spooky term to Greg, so here's a rundown: I'll let you guys guess what team had a 75 WRC+, worst in the majors.
  6. Listening to Will Perdue on CHGO, I kinda agree: The Bulls might not be bad enough to keep their first rounder. That doesn't mean good. Just that they don't feel tank-y enough.
  7. I think I'm getting more pissed off seeing Tommy Edman tear up this postseason than I am Kopech. Chris Getz is such a fucking awful GM.
  8. If I'm not mistaken, Cubs would gain the ability to block any expansion team.
  9. You're such a bootlicker that King George could have taxed you 100% for tea and you'd tell fellow colonists "at least we have tea!"
  10. To really dump my raw thoughts: It'd be so fucking Reinsdorfian to f*** over fans in a city that has given him everything: He paid a pittance for the Sox and Bulls and got 7 rings, a stadium, and 2 billion dollar franchises. In return he broke up a the 90s Bulls and has strung along two fanbases cause he doesn't want to invest and cause computers are hard. And all because Hawk had to have the worst single fucking season by a GM in the history of baseball when you consider the ramifications, fans have to deal with Reinsdorf blowing up the latest rebuild by hiring TLR, then hiring Getz on TLR's recommendation and now, if they sell to Stewart, it'll surely be with TLR's blessing. f*** Jerry and f*** TLR.
  11. It can be good: The Dodgers are a group-owned organization and they drastically turned things around post-McCourts. It's just that Dave Stewart would be catastrophic.
  12. @Bob Sacamano I must have accidentally quoted you. I did not mean to imply that Grimace was out hear injuring Dodgers players. Glasnow had it coming.
  13. He won't rest until Hagen Smith is the highest paid player.
  14. Just an example: This was before he had his team intentionally throw at a guy, resulting in a brawl where he got suspended 10 games. For more context: He swapped his starter for an opener to throw at a guy. He also got ejected from the same game twice.
  15. No, but he's a fucking crazy person.
  16. Phil Nevin is a wild candidate. I'll give them grace and assume it's due diligence.
  17. If they don't trade Sale, they probably don't trade Quintana or Eaton. The scope gets wider than just Moncada.
  18. Also, good moment to point out that one of Getz's first moves was DFA'ing Honeywell, who turned in a good year for the Dodgers (though he way overperformed his advanced metrics) and is pitching in the postseason for them.
  19. 15 players from the MLB top 100 have played for the Sox.
