  1. Everything makes sense when you realize he likes players that profile like him.
  2. Generally, utility players can field the ball.
  3. Wait, is Rick Hahn back?
  4. I didn't even know about the Angels or Red Sox stints. Ban this man.
  5. For what it's worth, Getz didn't make the Burger trade. That was Kenny.
  6. Yes, this team deserves to be the worst ever but that was an absolutely amazing fucking catch. That was divine punishment.
  7. Dear lord, that's the catch of the year. Team is fucking cursed.
  8. 10. Robert's an introvert, so we're gonna keep to ourselves. If Ozzie is a dick, I have no qualms kicking his chair.
  9. Dude that just threw 90 at the speed pitch is gonna come in from the bullpen later.
  10. Chris Getz will have the worst win percentage of any GM in the history baseball and we'll keep hearing about how it's definitely not his fault.
  11. A reminder that their reward for this is picking 10th. They aren't even in purgatory. They're in hell.
  12. I can't believe they had sabermetrics in 1930.
  13. I think he pitched like 5 good innings before the deadline and Getz is supposedly a wunderkind.
  14. Moncada is going to play 162 games next year and win MVP. They'll ask how and he'll just be like "[insert team]'s training staff identified a weird thing in how I run and fixed it."
  15. I feel like someone told Getz that good GMs take other teams' castoffs and turn them into productive players and he's been trying to prove that he can do it.
  16. Seriously though, Getz had one edict: Not chronically f*** up, basically the same as Pedro. So far, he's the Pedro of GMs. He even built the roster that Pedro couldn't do anything with.
  17. I mean, I don't think anyone expected Getz to identify several Hall of Famers.
  18. - His only trade that is an outright win is Robbie Grossman. Santos is probably the next closest due to the draft pick. - Offensive prospects took a huge step back. - Failed in his major goal of improving the defense. - On track for worst record of modern era. - Signed/traded for several players who have zero or negative value: Maldonado, Vargas, Shuster, half the bullpen, Julks, Senzel, Clevinger, Stassi, - Dumped useful players for nothing: Pillar, Romy, Cronin. Like, he's a bad GM.
  19. It raises the question of what's an acceptable improvement for next year. 60 wins? 70? .500? Outside of Benintendi, the team next year will be players that he has acquired or chosen to keep. And calling a $15M contract an albatross in this day and age is a moronic excuse. If they're a 60 win team next year, then he's flirting with Pedro's performance as a manager.
