Roki Sasaki Free Agency (split off from Crochet thread)
Quin replied to Timmy U's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Sasaki is coming to the majors early and missing a giant payday because of it. That means the Sox would have to convince him that they're a better team to sign with than the other 29 on merit alone. It ain't happening. -
Potential Crochet Trade discussion Thread
Quin replied to Chicago White Sox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
It's not. For example, he would never, ever sign Pete Alonso, as you've suggested. We know this based on everything he's done. JR would rather keep maintaining a shitty car than just buying a new one. -
Oh God, how dare they try to earn revenue to pay employees.

There's also a lot of guys in the Hall without 300 wins in eras where it was "easier" to get it https://www.baseball-reference.com/awards/hof_pitching.shtml
-
I guarantee they all get in on the first ballot. Edit: In fact, guys like Greinke and Votto keep Buehrle and Abreu alive (via committee) by redefining the Hall's standards. Greinke would bring a new appreciation of defense, which gives Buehrle a massive boost. Abreu's chances live on the possibility of the Hall considering his RoY and MVP alongside his Cuban career (and said career withholding him). Neither likely gets in — and it would be via committee like Baines — but they have long, long shots.

Ahhh, idk how the hell I forgot about Soto. Thought about Cole, but at his age I wavered.

Mine - Frank Bolon - sounds Bartolo Colon trying to go undercover after he disappeared on the White Sox to care for his secret family.

Absolutely relevant

I know you're trolling but: There are 4 MVPs on the Dodgers that are all future Hall of Famers, including the top 3 of their lineup: Kershaw, Ohtani, Betts, Freeman Scherzer, Greinke and Verlander are locks on the pitching side. Miguel Cabrera, Albert Pujols and Mike Trout waltz in. But let's keep on going: Altuve: Only thing that will hold him back is the 2017 scandal. Posey: In Machado, Harper, Lindor, Jose Ramirez: All can very easily keep up their current pace and make it in. Injuries could derail all of them. Cardinals borderline trio of Goldschmidt, Arenado and Yadi. Of this group, I really only see Yadi making it, and solely off of his defensive rep. Chris Sale might have locked it in with his Cy Young and Gold Glove this year. He was the 5th best pitcher of this era, but the injuries after 2018 and lack of personal hardware really hurt his trajectory. Judge will depend on how he ages. He's one of those guys you can see aging like an old time slugger and eventually joining the 500+ club.

Could have had Harbaugh, but nooooo

I thought this was Elko

Like, it was a thing did in ONE off-season. People have hobbies. Baseball guys have f*** you money. He probably had someone write the music and that video did not look like something that took anything more than a day or two max to shoot.
-
Dude made one music video and it triggers people to this day.

Was at the game tonight and it honestly feels like this Bulls could be a fun team to watch - if they had just let Pat walk. It's frustrating, because in-person I can see the flashes and I go "oh, I get it now." But then he can't make shots and doesn't hustle for boards like he needs to. If Pat were to get hurt and Jalen Smith became the starting PF with Sanogo getting the backup big minutes, they might give you what you're missing with Pat based on sheer motor. It's almost painful to watch.

In response to you, I said they'd call up a Marvel superhero and you extolled the post. You should, at bare minimum, read the discussions before trying to make declarative statements.

Ding ding ding. I'd honestly have been fine with Perez and Albertus for Kopech. Which makes it Pham and Fedde for Vargas, which, what the f***? Edit: Or even Kopech for one of Perez/Albertus.
-
They got two A-ball guys who Pipeline ranks #13 and #14 in the system. Jeral Perez Alexander Albertus The MLB Pipeline write-ups leave a lot to be inspired, but guys do come from nowhere.

This is why I'm calling him a hypothetical bucket of water for this dumpster fire. He may be a part of putting it out! He could also be gasoline. Or just empty. Right now, the industry thinks he's water, but we won't know until April.

The protagonist of a Marvel Studios Disney+ series. But my guess: Elko

The JUST WIN, BABY system Rookie manager has nothing to learn. Just automatically great. Sign 2 vet free agent starters for $15M / year. Someone like Quintana fits that mold, but why the hell is he coming here over a contender after the way he closed 2024? As of right now, we are simply giving Flexen and Brad Keller pay raises. One good, $10 M reliever - um, at this rate, why are these guys signing with the Sox? Add OF: Who it is, we do not know. Michael Conforto might accept an overpay. Second baseman with clue: We try to lure Iglesias away from the Mets. The fanbase hates having another Cuban player that enjoys singing. Bring up Montgomery before he's ready. Just win, baby! Bring up Echo, who uses her superhero abilities to thrive as the first female baseball player in Major League Baseball. Sosa is not useful at second, but he's good enough at 3rd. We accomplish this by using "good evaluation of the free agent market," something the White Sox are famous for doing. Also Jerry not wanting to lose by spending money, something he is famous for doing.
-
Lmao, Jerry won't pay contracts that are a fraction of that.

So, who's the new punching bag?
