  1. - His only trade that is an outright win is Robbie Grossman. Santos is probably the next closest due to the draft pick. - Offensive prospects took a huge step back. - Failed in his major goal of improving the defense. - On track for worst record of modern era. - Signed/traded for several players who have zero or negative value: Maldonado, Vargas, Shuster, half the bullpen, Julks, Senzel, Clevinger, Stassi, - Dumped useful players for nothing: Pillar, Romy, Cronin. Like, he's a bad GM.
  2. It raises the question of what's an acceptable improvement for next year. 60 wins? 70? .500? Outside of Benintendi, the team next year will be players that he has acquired or chosen to keep. And calling a $15M contract an albatross in this day and age is a moronic excuse. If they're a 60 win team next year, then he's flirting with Pedro's performance as a manager.
  3. And also, he was a part of the org during the last regime. If Marco Paddy has to go, why does Getz, who was bad in his old job and has continued to make bad moves while in a position of power, get a pass?
  4. Had to rely on ChatGPT for this, but the 2021 Orioles made the most roster moves in a single season with 63. I'm trying to figure out how many roster moves the Sox have made but it's genuinely difficult to quantify at this point with all of the moving chairs.
  5. Credit where it's due, if we're going purely off fWAR: Lopez has been worth slightly more (0.6 to 0.3). But Romy was a lot cheaper for a "everything must go team" and is worth more than Tommy "show 'em how it's done" Pham
  6. To be fair, Robles and Bart are 27-years-old, only a little younger than Senzel. But if you're a team taking a flier on a (should-be) cheap infielder next year - Moncada makes way, way more sense than Senzel and I'm sure Getz wants to light him on fire.
  7. I mean, he's 28 and has had 6 years of being a bad player. We'll beat the horse into glue, but players like Robles and Bart have shown more and they just slid on by in favor of Martin Maldonado, Corey Julks and Tommy Pham. Edit: Want to clarify that this isn't a shot at you, just stressing that despite having first dibs, Getz can't even make the right call on waiver claims.
  8. Also, Amaya rocked a .649 OPS in the PCL this season. Chris Getz just likes to acquire Chris Getz-style players.
  9. If they break the Spiders' record, fire every single member of baseball operations.
  10. Bringing in Brian Anderson - an assistant coach at a local university (I'm not trying to undersell NW, but the proximity comes into play) - would be so hilarious.
  11. Is Nick Senzel still around? If so, why?
  12. It's true. Many would have made better ones.
  13. And a 60-70 team with a rebuilt farm system can look forward. The worst team in baseball history combined with Colson, other offensive prospects regressing and making Miguel Vargas your cornerstone deadline acquisition, 🤷🏻‍♂️.
  14. A few days old, but good reason to bump this thread:
  15. And god help us if Thorpe needs Tommy John. When Getz's one definitive win on the trade market is a 24-year-old AA reliever (Anthony Hoopii-Tuionetoa), that doesn't bode well for the future.
  16. The White Sox fanbase only knows Monkey's Paws.
  17. It was at 1 PM game on a Wednesday, which is a day people with hybrid schedules often go into work.
  18. And yet he still wasn't the dumbest Park of that trade. Preller getting Getz to take back Wilson instead of prospects was a pure fleece.
  19. Well you see, Getz acquired one vs. developing one. It makes all the difference.
