This is a great way of putting it. It's a 14 game sample with amazing results, but Yolbert had a single digit walk rate last season and for MLB comparisons, only 4 players had a walk rate above 15% last year - Soto, Gallo, Harper, and Ohtani (Moncada was the highest White Sock with 13.6). If Yolbert is walking 15%+ of the time with an OPS around .850 and good defense - suddenly we're looking at All-Star Yolbert, which would be an unexpected (but very welcome) leap.

In lieu of Robert's injury, I'd like to take the Parkman route and revise this to actually blowing it up.

We are all Leury on this cursed day.
-
To be fair, this is true of everything.
-
So like, Yolbert when? We need someone that can work a fucking count.

Haseley is the left-handed creator of chaos we didn't want, but needed all along.

Imagine playing Eloy at third base for not taking enough walks, then benching him more for making errors. The most realistic fucking baseball game of all time right there.

Oh my god this just reawakened a memory of when I had a Road to the Show player hitting .380 with a .375 OBP and some absurd OPS for the Cardinals...and Tony LaRussa benched him for not taking enough walks. I went from starting RF to randomly playing out of position, where my defensive stats were bad. So I kept getting buried on the bench. Oh my fucking god it was a prophecy.

And that's the purpose of this - clearly moves need to be made to get TLR's head out of his ass and stabilize the lineup. We know Hahn is still going to be the GM. But do we think it's going to be May? June? We know that everyone in the org other than TLR loves Vaughn and is probably banging their heads on desks about this platoon nonsense.

I will say that the term "Tweetsters" is pretty hilarious
-
Because what do you want me to do for the remaining ~150 games? Go "ah fuck they didn't sign/offer a QO to Rodon (the dumbest non-move by any single team this offseason), might as well be angry about the most talented Sox team I've seen in my fucking life" and be angry until October? Should I still be mad that GarPax didn't trade Deng and missed out on a fucking dynasty? Nah, I want to talk about them possibly improving. Like I said, Hahn's reactionary. We know they've talked Montas, who knows if they end up acquiring a starter or not. The reason I said I like you more than others is because buried in the typographical shouting, you make intelligent points, but lordy I'd love for there to just be discussion amidst the anger (not just you, in general) instead of "no, go straight to November while mainlining rage-heroin."

Bro this thread is about the failure to invest in starting pitching
-
Yeah, but Hahn is nothing if not a GM who is sets a plan, then is very reactive when stuff goes wrong. His plan was probably "give TLR a great lineup, bullpen, 3 ace-level starters, Kopech, and hopefully Keuchel doesn't shit the bed. Not even TLR can mismanage that." And now...due to inevitable injuries (which everyone on the board flashed a neon-sign warning were coming) we're in the dangerous reactive Hahn territory where I want to hide Bryan Ramos and Colson Montgomery.

I saw you quoted me, didn't really expect much, and was still disappointed because this is pretty much your copy/paste stoopid abrasive schtick and talking point all winter long. And I like you more than most people on the board.

If you had told me at the beginning of last year that I'd be yearning for Yolbert on the MLB roster by late April, I'd be confused.

I meeeeeannnnn, Pollock definitely felt like a "fuck you move"
-
I don't mean trade off the stars for prospects, White Flag 2.0. I'm talking about moves that force TLR's hand - trading Sheets to get Vaughn out of the platoon, DFAing/bullpenning Keuchel and acquiring a starter (probably same move), anything that gets Leury out of the #3 hole, etc. I know we're only 11 games in, but after last season and a constantly-reminded-of Hall of Fame career, we know TLR isn't changing his stripes.

Steve Stoned just writes itself, to be fair.
-
Shut up, Steve.

Tony La Russa can't even get 4/20 right.

I meeeeean, as someone who likes Moon Knight from the comics,

I love Jordan stats where it's like "wow, what an awesome achievement for those guys" is a regular day for MJ.
