Here's a stat: Mark Teahen's career fWAR with the Sox (-1.4) is higher than all of the 2024 Chicago White Sox position players combined (-5.6)

Fedde/Pham/$ to STL, Kopech to LAD, Miguel Vargas + prospects to Sox
Quin replied to Heads22's topic in Pale Hose Talk
So it was written, so it shall be. "Jerry, should we hire someone from a real org like your childhood Dodgers to bring us to the 21st century?" "Nah, Chris can teach kids how to suck at baseball just like he did." -
I retroactively nominate this for worst Sox trade of all time. Tatis / Sosa simply took (chemically) enhanced superstars out of the Sox system. This trade gave a division rival the tools to destroy the entire system and major league roster.

And your boy is statistically the worst GM in baseball history. -

Hostetler stopped being scouting director before the pandemic happened. Eventually you'll have to put the boogymen back in the closet. -

Firing only KW/Hahn/Haber but leaving Getz and a lot of his cronies in place shows that this entire operation is wildly unserious. He couldn't train minor leaguers how to hit the ball. Wtf is he gonna do with major leaguers? -
Wilson is such a stupid fucking acquisition that it keeps on giving. Meanwhile, oh look, Chris Getz once again turns to Rick Hahn's final prospects to salvage anything he can. If he was going to get fired regardless, it happened on the best possible way for Hahn.

"How to play baseball the right way." Is Paul Janish the second worst director of player development in White Sox history?

8/3 Sox @ Twinkies 6:10PM - Road to 19
Quin replied to DoUEvenShift's topic in 2024 Season in Review
Rebuilding teams traditionally get as many players as possible while getting as much control as possible. Chris Getz somehow decided that approach is for nerds. -
Chris Getz is the worst GM in sports and deserves to be a scout for the TSG Hawks.

8/3 Sox @ Twinkies 6:10PM - Road to 19

But have you considered that it's actually Rick Hahn's fault and Getz is only doing the best he can? -

Can we throw in Jake McCarthy as a guy that it'd be nice to have? -
If I'm a billionaire looking to buy a ball club, the Sox would look so enticing — if you were looking to spend money. 1. 3rd major market. We've seen that even if you're a second team, you can get turnout with investment (Clippers, Mets) 2. Nowhere to go but up, you could be a hero to fans (Lacob, Cohen, Balmer). 3. One of the best brands (strictly talking about the logo/color scheme) in baseball, if not all of sports. 4. Stadium proposal already made, for the super loaded owners. 5. An ownership group could probably shoot their shot (a very longshot) at a Bulls-Sox package.

I'm convinced Cags is winning a Cy Young, MVP and ROY with the luck this org has holy s%*#.
-
At this rate I'm expecting the team to tell Gene Honda he's actually an awful PA announcer. It's like they're taking all the things they did well off the field and decided those have to suck as well.

Bro needs PR training, holy hell.
-
How dare he have fun!
-
Cause Vargas' status as a former top prospect is ultimately meaningless.
-
Considering they threw Pham in for free, former Top 100 prospect Oscar Colas should have been getting at-bats this whole season if we're taking this outlook. Can anyone point out anything Getz does well other than slashing payroll?

Rookie Eloy was good for homers. Then he was mostly good for memes. He almost always kept a smile on, until this year. It sucks that he's made of paper and glass, because he has all of the offensive talent in the world. 100% prepared for the Orioles to somehow turn him around.

Somehow Rick Hahn was able to acquire actual prospects in 2016 and last year. If only there was someone who could develop them.
