  1. Isn't this kind of what @Pal is alluding to?
  2. Kopech, easy. Eloy and Moncada at least had pre-COVID success (even a Silver Slugger!). 2019 & 2021 Moncada isn't what you'd have dreamt on, but you'd be more than OK with that as your 3B. Kopech had an OK season as a starter with limited innings (2022) and that's about it
  3. Offense Defense still bad Bullpen still bad The Sox probably don't let ReyLo start Once upon a time. From 2014-2016, Sale was #5 in fWAR and Quintana was #8. Rodon had fallen into their laps. Plus, they team literally can't tank. The new rules block them from drafting higher than 10 next year. The only thing anyone would want to do this year is try to get good value for players on the roster before they leave/lose value. Example: If they held onto Gio+Lopez and both decide to sign elsewhere, they don't get Quero or Bush, who are both performing well. Depressing example using the Bulls: Caruso was reportedly worth 2 first round picks this past trade deadline. Drummond was worth multiple seconds. LaVine and DDR both had good value in 2022-2023 - when the team was treading water in the exact same manner as last year, with it clear they couldn't use both. Vuc might have been worth a second as a salary dump, now he has an albatross. By holding onto everything, they've got Josh Giddey and whatever they could get for LaVine in return.
  4. I'm so glad that despite everything, we can be united over the black hole of suck that Martin Maldonado
  5. Ah, as expected from Getz and Pedro. The clown car rolls on.
  6. I'd love Ingram - but I'm trying to figure out why the Pelicans do it other than t say they have an All-Star next to Zion. Would be great to have some picks to put in a deal. Plus, if next season really is all-in for Cooper Flagg, I doubt they go for it. It's gonna be ugly.
  7. We play our 1B in the OF, our corner OF in CF, and a guy who can play CF in a pinch at 1B. I fail to understand what's so difficult.
  8. Was at a game, just saw DeJong's base running. If I'm correct, these types of mistakes are unacceptable and DeJong should be DFA'd for Clevinger, or something
  9. It's cause Maldonado is good for pitchers! Ignore the fact that they're all bombing, except the two that don't use him and that Cannon's best start was caught by Lee.
  10. You should be able to follow the simple mantra of "young, learning and under long term cheap control is better than old, bad and not under control" but Getz and AKME can't grasp this.
  11. It's funny cause Maldonado is an ancient vet and hasn't done a damn thing right all year and this move preserved his roster spot.
  12. Here's my thing. Your thoughts on Ellis' future aside, he had six years of control and elite speed. Good chances a team with space or lots of dead weight (and a smart GM) take a swing on that. If they knew they were gonna call him up and DFA him because they needed an OF — why the f*** not Mark Payton, who is under control for 1 year? Is that not why he's in the org? It's just more bad asset management. Between Getz and AKME, it's like JR's #1 requirement is "ineptitude at spreadsheets."
  13. I remember the "The Condor" B-Ref has "Stickman" and "The Conductor" listed but both of those suck after Condor
  14. Funny how other teams keep finding room for these players, but we keep holding onto Maldonado, who doesn't even catch our two best pitchers.
  15. Maldonado will right this ship any day now.
  16. The other thing is: Would the Thunder of all teams have been reluctant to hold onto a pick if it was a dealbreaker? They actually have more than they keep. It sucks cause we can't even say hindsight is 20/20. There were calls to trade DDR or Zach two years ago when they both had good-to-great value, DDR last year, Caruso last year (when he was apparently worth two first rounders) and Drummond last year (when he was supposedly worth two second rounders). If they started this two years ago, they wouldn't have locked themselves into the nonsensical Vuc deal. Instead they're maxing out at...Josh Giddey. Just all-around horrible.
  17. Gonzalez is 27-years-old, for what it's worth. But he was DFA'd to make room for Brebbia (who started out as a dumpster fire and is now getting better). Romy hasn't been amazing, but he'd be one of the better bats in the Sox lineup. Just like Declan Cronin was DFA'd to make room for Tim Hill, who was hot garbage.
  18. Not getting any picks for Caruso from a team with a treasure trove of picks is a disgrace
  19. I went and looked it up, I didn't realize how much larger he is than Tork. To give everyone an idea, he's listed as as 6'5", 235 lb B-Ref says Frank was 6'5", 240
