  1. What makes you think Getz doesn't want him around and playing. Korey Lee made the 26-man cause Stassi got hurt and Pedro — amazingly — has had the wherewithal to give him playing time, just not enough to fully relegate Maldonado to backup. He also does dumb s%*# like put them both in the lineup, like last night. But if Stassi hasn't gotten hurt, Lee would have remained catcher #3 on Getz's depth chart.
  2. The Clevinger comment somehow aged poorly in multiple ways.
  3. I was at dinner with a friend who's a Mets fan and said "so the Sox have Tommy Pham" and he immediately said "who did he punch???"
  4. Carl would be a better GM. He'd weed out the weak.
  5. "The previous homeowner ruined the foundation." "This doesn't explain why you placed dynamite in the basement."
  6. "I don't like our team" Proceeds to build a roster on track to be the worst team of all time.
  7. It's true, he has gotten 13 hits in 84 chances this year for a robust .184 average.
  8. I mean, if they trade Crochet 1) Gonna need Salas back 2) Might as well trade Robert, because nothing is happening for years. 3) There was no point whatsoever to hire Chris Getz, but we knew that.
  9. If this turns into an injury of any significance and the Sox can't get anything for Pham, I can't wait to hear everyone that was stanning Mr. Big Dog justify this stupid play.
  10. I mean, he's also good for some fun defensive plays here and there. When I saw him in person, he played with absolute reckless abandon that is a joy to watch. I'm sure it will infuriate us.
  11. Yeah, there's three outcomes 1) Sox knew but couldn't tell, DFA'd and got money. Shitty, but ultimately they're hands were tied and with hindsight this was the best move. 2) Sox knew, didn't tell anyone. This would be very, very bad. 3) Sox didn't know. Getz's 40 man roster management remains questionable and he's got dumb luck on this one.
  12. As the conductor of the Duke Ellis Bandwagon, I am both excited and prepared to be let down. This also made me look up Jacob Burke's numbers and oof.
  13. If they did all that, then yeah, this is kosher by Getz and I'll admit that — with 20/20 hindsight — he did the right thing. But you know, that means we also get to applaud Rick Hahn for trading a roider. Good job Rick. (I'm kidding about Rick)
  14. I mean, that would be the Sox semi-participating in a cover up, so I sure hope not. Edit: Or they had they to be extra tight lipped and the Phillies decided to chance it, but the Sox accepting cash for him knowing he'd be suspended for gambling looks real bad on the surface.
  15. I had very, very low expectations for his batting average.
  16. DeJong is one of the few things that has exceeded my expectations this year.
  17. I mean, there's a reason every single gambling ad is legally required to include a "if you or someone you know has a gambling problem." For some people, it's an addiction.
  18. This scandal is brought to you by FanDuel. The league is stupid if they didn't think this would happen.
  19. This has come up in multiple threads, so I'm gonna make a guide 1. Get your link, example: https://x.com/JRFegan/status/1797644454746304644 2. Remove the x.com URL and replace with twitter.com, resulting in: https://twitter.com/JRFegan/status/1797644454746304644 3. Copy the new URL, paste it and hit enter. You'll know you did it correctly because the post will say "posting as rich text," resulting in this. 4. If it's still not working, check these: a. You may have only edited the URL text, but the hyperlink might still be x.com - make sure the URL itself is twitter.com. b. You did not hit enter. 5. Alternative method: a. Tap the three dots in the top right corner of the tweet b. Select embed post c. Select the display option you want (video or post) d. Copy the embed code. e. On SoxTalk, click the "Source" logo in the posting draft. It is in the top right corner next to the bold symbol. f. Post the embed code. It might look funky in the draft, but should load when you post.
