  1. Maldonado just got played so hard.
  2. Ok, I can't remember. Was Matthew Thompson on the 40-man roster? Cause if not, it means we ultimately gave up a starting pitching prospect — who is of course now putting up better numbers with the Cubs AA team (yes, SSS) — for cash.
  3. It'll be fun to watch Sosa or Colas suddenly develop the ability to draw a walk, fix their defensive flaws and become above average major leaguers for a competent MLB team.
  4. Chris Getz is that dude who swipes right on everyone hoping someone will match with him.
  5. Athletes are also just bigger, faster and stronger now. Remember when it was a big deal for a pitcher to throw 100, but now every org seemingly has several guys capable of hitting 100?
  6. I'm giving him leeway like I did with Bennetti. He's an announcer built for an exciting team, not...this. The only thing I disliked about Jason was his lack of a home run call, which Schriffen definitely has. However, I cannot stand the "STAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND UP" at the moment. Probably cause it debuted in Spring Training? The flip side is I loved Hawk (until the end) and Stacey King, so, again, giving the guy time.
  7. I don't doubt it, but he 100% wrote that Wikipedia page. He's a dude with a legit journalism career that knows he can try and game the youtube algorithm of CAPITALIZED WORDS LIKE CONCERNED, WORRIED, BAD, and DYNAMIC THUMBNAILS will garner him more cash. He's probably great for Bay Area stuff. But this would be like asking KC Johnson's opinion on the Kansas City Chiefs' stadium situation.
  8. Third Fourth best average and 4th 10th best slugging on the White Sox. Either @flavum has devil magic, Pham is baseball's PatBev, or the Sox are about to go back to the meat grinder. Edit: Was doing a quick glance at Baseball-Reference. Filtered for minimum of 30 at-bats. Kevin Pillar is 6th in slugging. Yoan is 1st in average and 5th in slugging.
  9. That was kind of my point with Quintana. Right now, he's on track to be an All-Star.
  10. No, it didn't. You're claiming that his Top 100 status from 7 years ago, when Yoan Moncada and Andrew Benintendi were the Top 2 prospects, will reinforce his trade value. Eloy was #14, Kopech was #16 and Soroka was #78. Imagine the hauls we'll get if they all turn it around. His KBO performance with revamped mechanics from last year? Sure. His current performance? Yes. His college performance and minor league performance? Not at all.
  11. Man, all I'm saying is that no GM cares about Fedde being a Top 100 seven years ago and that if any fanbase should know better, it's the White Sox fanbase. Yes, obviously if he keeps pitching like this, he'll get a nice package. It's also impossible to tell which pitchers will command larger packages because unlike the Sox, most teams are not out of the playoff hunt in April.
  12. And they don't base it off of a Top 100 ranking when he was a prospect. Jose Quintana was never a Top 100 and he netted a Cy Young finalist and a rookie Silver Slugger.
  13. Of all teams, we should know that that means nothing.
  14. Pham has awoken Benintendi
  15. Eloy sprinting is unstoppable
  16. There's a difference between needing to vent and chilling and watching a game. Example: If I tell my wife that Martin Maldonado needs to be stricken from the earth, it's not gonna make much sense. But getting hype over a Dickman homer is universal.
  17. The AAA numbers are eery, but anything can happen, so good luck to Mystery Box.
  18. Who knew Pham was the key to reversing the Tatis curse.
