He really, really needs/wants Thorpe to be viewed as a better pitcher than Cease.

In other news, Daniel Hudson has been in the league for 15 years.

The Flying Serpent played his part tonight. On one hand, let's fucking go Mets. On the other hand, the series is just a reminder of regrets: Manaea and Quintana could have been added for dirt cheap the past few years. They had Iglesias and traded him for Avi Garcia. Schwarber was right there for the taking and then, obviously, Harper. It feels like the Sox were connected to — or fans/this board beat the drum for — all of those guys.

The trade ideas begin! Robert for Holliday ++

In his introductory press conference, Getz spoke about competing in the AL Central. He only talked about rebuilding once the entire league was beating their ass cause he's a wildly incompetent GM. -
It's going to annoy me to no end that the main twitter account went with @CHSN__ as it's handle when @CHSN is available. Edit: Lol, it has to be two underscores because otherwise it goes to some kid's profile who hasn't posted since 2016. That's next level.

I felt like this would be a good place to share this fun fact.

The second tweet is from an MTA employee that does digital communications. This was a collaboration.

It's Tim Anderson. Drafted in 2013. -

So to be clear Get quantity over quality Ideally quality and quantity, but we've seen that you're not getting premium quantity and quality with Getz at the helm. They've all got to matchup on a similar timeline, cause if they've got 3 years or less, they gotta be traded due to this poverty franchise. Assume the quantity will all hit. This is the 2016 rebuild but with a worse starting point. -

Lmao, if we're already projecting Crochet as gone in this scenario, then there is no point to any of it. -

So, my point was that if JUSTgottaBELIEVE actually believed in Thorpe, which we know he does, then he should drive Skenes to Chicago himself, because Skenes-Crochet-Thorpe is a nasty front 3 (again, if you believe in Thorpe). You'd need 2 of the Sox remaining starting prospects to hit, which we know is a tall order, but rookie pitchers that put up a sub-2 ERA and start the All-Star game don't fall off trees. -

Damn, you really have such little faith in Drew Thorpe? -

If anything, the Sox (which includes Chris Getz!) record of developing raw talent over the past decade should encourage taking the guys who are highly ranked and close to the majors prospects over projects every single time. An org like the Rays might have been able to develop the guys like Rutherford, Adolfo, Cespedes, Colas, Hansen, Basabe and Clarkin. Possibly have gotten more out of Burdi, Collins, Madrigal and Vaughn. Yes - I'm aware that absolutely no org in the majors is gonna hit 100% on every prospect. But dear god, the Sox seemingly miss on every single one that they've had to develop in any capacity outside of like, Tim Anderson and Jake Burger (kinda, he took it into his own hands in 2020). -

If the Orioles offered that, you're not getting a better deal, because Elias is making a desperation deal. They got packages of high-ceiling and quantity last time. The problem, once again, was this stupid organization, because Moncada (2019, 2021), Kopech (2021-2022), Giolito (2019-2021), Lopez (2018 and 2024 as a starter, 2021-2023 as a reliever), Dunning (2022-2023), Eloy (2019-2020) and Cease (2020-2024) have all had success in the majors at one point or another to varying degrees. A real organization that isn't afraid of technology + not had Jerry trying to make up to TLR for what he considers a 40-year-old mistake would have probably done bangers with that group. So you're right to a degree. Getting Holliday would be stupid cause he'd fail here. -
Kenny had to sign off on every single signing in person, but didn't want to leave Chicago.

Getz will ask for your best prospect, then settle for your 8th best and a 29-year-old reliever. -
Watching this offense evolve in real time has been both stressful and fun.

Can you name every player to appear on the 2024 Chicago White Sox?

I only remembered Gus Varland because the other day I was like "I remember Ryan Bukvich of all people, but I will not remember Gus Varland in a few years."
