The next month, and possible "false positives"
Quin replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Call up Phegley might be an option as well. I also said to add a pitcher to the bullpen. -
Well, I thought we'd be able to have a nice hypothetical debate. Silly Quin.

For what it's worth, I got... 1. Jordan 2. Magic 3. Kareem 4. Wilt 5. Bird 6. Russell 7. Duncan 8. Shaq 9. Hakeem 10. LeBron 11. West 12. Kobe 13. Moses 14. Havlicek 15. Erving/Robertson

Duncan as a top 6 player isn't that unreasonable.

Reed third in the league in saves, but has saved all but 7 of our wins.

Happy birthday fellas!

With the gun debate going on in the thread about the soldier being hacked to death, I thought I'd shake it up a bit. Marvel's Civil War story event is started in a way very similar to that of the current gun debate; the deaths of school kids in Connecticut. A supervillain being chased by superheroes for their TV show detonates (his power) and the blast kills hundreds, including 60 children. This pushes a Superhero Registration Act through Congress where all super powered beings must register with the government or be sent to prison. Upon signing, they receive employee benefits, health care, a stipend, etc. Heroes like Captain America reject this bill, claiming that by making the identities of heroes public, they place the heroes in danger (Peter Parker's Aunt May is killed towards the end of the story arc because of his public identity). He also claims that as they have long acted as protectors, they've earned the right to secrecy. Iron Man supports registration after a mother condemns him for funding the Avengers and acting as an influence to any mutant or meta-human. The government & Iron Man hire supervillains (with shock collars) to bring in some heroes. Captain America's Secret Avengers try to continue operating as heroes while running from the law and to avoid being sent to Prison 42; a prison in another dimension from which there is no escape. There is no "political leaning" in the series from the public. The president is identified as George Bush and conservatives want the heroes to be placed on reservations similar to the one the X-Men are placed on. The liberals want them regulated and registered with the government. Bush and Stark want to take the registered heroes and turn them into a police force with a super powered team in each of the fifty states. This is a tricky slope. Heroes have powers and secret identities, they've risked their lives countless times to save the general populace. But they don't answer for the damage they do, cannot be held accountable. And if they rebel, the government has no ability to counter them without another super human. And it isn't something you can take away, the powers are apart of each hero. But not everyone can go out and just "get" powers for protection. Thoughts? What would you do?

QUOTE (mataipaepae @ May 25, 2013 -> 10:47 PM) alot of our offensive issues stem from our station to station speed. I love paulie but it is time to see what we can get for him. and it is definitely time to move dunn. maybe dunn stays to play 1st base since nobody will take him. but we can get something for paulie. move viciedo to DH and start teaching him 1st base. while viciedo doesn't possess blazing speed he is much faster than dunn or paulie. but the middle of our lineup is a log jam! Paulie has been the slowest player in the league since his debut and the Sox have had good offenses with him. It's not just "Paulie is slow." Do you remember that '06 offense with speedsters such as PK, Thome, and Dye?

Scottie dunkin' on Mourning, who was also a far better defender than Birdman.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 25, 2013 -> 07:11 PM) Dude, everybody dunked on Ewing. MJ, Pip, Penny, Kemp, etc. There's even some vid of quinarvy dunking on Ewing. I just gotta find it. Hey, when I was six I had mad hops. But for real, Pip's trash talk to Ewing and Spike Lee and "that's how you do it" look on his face made him tougher/cooler than George's "mean look followed by stupid grin and high fiving LeBron."

QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ May 24, 2013 -> 10:25 PM) seriously what happened to the greatest closer in the game Retired in 2003.
-
So, if you're the Pacers...just don't even go near a Heat player. The Heat would get the call. I'd almost just tell them "GO STAND AT HALF COURT"

QUOTE (Knuckles @ May 24, 2013 -> 10:16 PM) Sox will have to homer to win this one. It'll reach the concourse and will be reviewed.
-
Yeah, seriously though. f*** Hernandez. That was a terrible call.
-
THE f***? Also, lol Hawk

QUOTE (Heads22 @ May 24, 2013 -> 10:08 PM) Marlins out Soxed the Sox there. Haha!

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ May 24, 2013 -> 09:40 PM) Aww, and then he ruins it by giving Lebron a five. WTF. God I miss 80's/90's NBA. Which is why I love the Bulls-Heat games. Those teams hate each other.
-
Also, nice to see PK return to form.
-
Generating runs!

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 24, 2013 -> 04:22 PM) whaaaaaaa? why? Dunno. But after he sucked post-contract to Thibs he really owes the Bulls a discount when you pair that with them allowing him to play for Great Britain last summer. His offense has been complete s*** since the wrist injury. Get the damn surgery. If no discount from Lu, ship him out for a SG and move Jimmy to SF.
-
Deng is opting to not get surgery on his wrist. He either owes the Bulls a huge discount or needs to be shipped out.
