  1. Rein$dorf is cheap and evil though :0
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 18, 2013 -> 10:43 PM) We've been underrated for years. We're not the best but we've had a solidly productive system at least since the 07 debacle. Some of it was used in trades, but successful trades. For real. Didn't someone here use Baseball Reference to show that the White Sox system players has had one of the highest WARs in the Majors? Yes, it includes people like Gio, but then just a bunch of "solid" guys.
  3. QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 18, 2013 -> 04:56 PM) I think they share parking. Logistically, I don't think the Orioles and Ravens can play at the same time. This thing is a mess. To me, it's not the end of the world if they end up playing a day game if the Ravens/NFL compensate both the Orioles and White Sox. My only other idea would be to trade the entire series home and away. So basically the Sox would have a 2-week road trip in July before the break, and a 2-week homestand in September---which isn't happening because of 4th of July weekend. I'm just tired of the NFL dictating whatever they want to do whenever they want. Screw 'em. This. Also, lol Yankees.
  4. That stadium is their biggest blessing and curse and it's hilarious.
  5. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 18, 2013 -> 03:49 PM) God I love that photo
  6. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 18, 2013 -> 03:01 PM) Just an fyi, f***faces the Score has been saying all day in their updates that Rose is out, and the latest update now says there's a "chance he'll play" tonight. woo!
  7. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Mar 18, 2013 -> 12:43 PM) Damn, Felix is violating steve worse than brother quinarvy did to victory whatever his name was. I might have to call dcfs again. Still my favorite post ever.
  8. QUOTE (Felix @ Mar 18, 2013 -> 12:29 PM) Wait, are we calling TMZ reputable now? When did that happen? Is the National Inquirer considered reputable now too? EDIT: Real reputable outlets make mistakes all the time... just look at the Manti Teo garbage. However, those outlets weren't flat out lying. They were simply lazily reporting the news, which is a pretty big offense by itself, but on a completely different level than going all Stephen Glass on it. To an extent, yes, a percentage of the blame is on the idiots that read it and can't figure out that Steve is/was/will always be full of s***. However, it certainly doesn't excuse the behavior in posting it in the first place. It shows basic lack of integrity. These were posted in comments. If you actually think everyone who reads the article would read all of the comments, then I'm sorry for your lack of understanding about how the internet works. Despite lacking any factual basis, the article remains posted to this day and even has an update, suggesting again that the author has a source close to Rose (bulls***) and that he feels great today and will be playing tonight. The fact that the website has multiple editors and no one took the post down, amended it or did ANYTHING meaningful to suggest that the author has no inside information whatsoever is indeed disgusting. +1
  9. QUOTE (Jake @ Mar 18, 2013 -> 09:56 AM) Nobody in the Sox organization would support a full rebuild. We will always try to make the current team as good as we can, within reason. The Sox will be willing to have seasons where they don't have a great outlook, but they never will intentionally gut the major league club. It's not good business to rebuild -- you should be as close to contending as possible as often as possible. This doesn't mean you can't trade a Carlos Quentin or save some money in offseasons in which you don't like the major free agents, but it means you wouldn't ever trade an Alexei Ramirez, Dayan, Sale, Rios or other major pieces (well paid and not) before a season like this one. And I love that.
  10. Well, the Sox always seem to be the "what if?" team that actually has interesting names attached like Robinson and Babe Ruth.
  11. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Mar 18, 2013 -> 11:00 AM) I really dont care to be honest. If that is how Steve wants to write, I have no problem with him being the National Enquirer. Would I do it? No, but thats because my reputation means something to me. I do find it amusing that a blog with approximately 300 twitter followers/facebook friends, would be able to get this much traffic over a single tweet. It just further proves the lack of critical thinking skills. Just because you read something does not mean its true. He could have just wrote the article about why he believed Rose would return tonight based on X,Y, Z evidence. By the time I actually saw it, it was far to late, so sometimes you just roll with the punches. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 18, 2013 -> 12:16 PM) I don't disrespect any of your opinions. I didn't post it here, fwiw. I gotta agree with these. Yeah, I reposted it on my FB when it popped up in my feed because I was excited, but after reading it closely didn't see substance. That's my fault for not doing research.
  12. Chris Sale's worth right now is "Your top 5 prospects, then more" due to that contract.
  13. QUOTE (Jake @ Mar 17, 2013 -> 10:27 PM) Let's get this straight -- there are some similarities between Q and Buehrle, but Q has significantly better stuff than Buehrle. Q's average fastball velocity last year was 90.4. Buehrle's career high was 87.1, and that was in 2002. We can argue back and forth about the quality of the offspeed pitches (I believe Buehrle's off speed repertoire is no good, he simply uses them brilliantly), but the 3 mph is a tremendous difference. Q as a velocity pitcher is closer to Chris Sale as a starter (91.6) than Mark Buehrle. Buehrle may be one of a kind with how he pitches. His stuff is awful, yet he made it work.
  14. Time to see what new, creative way Mizzou will use to lose to Colorado State.
  15. Remember when Zach Stewart almost perfect'd the Twins?
  16. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 17, 2013 -> 03:19 PM) http://sports.yahoo.com/news/highschool--s...dGlvbnM-;_ylv=3 Yea this states they have to register as sex offenders Good.
  17. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Mar 17, 2013 -> 12:57 PM) Not upset about it. I figured it was kids who did it, just thought I'd share since it's a funny story and see if other people drew the same conclusion that I had. My wife on the other hand was very creeped out by the incident. I know as a teenager, I had people draw dicks in the dirt on my car, but not to the level of detail this one was. I think that's the weird part to me, someone took their time with it. Seems odd to me. The details mean that they are Satanists.
  18. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Mar 17, 2013 -> 01:57 PM) When you first start drinking you don't know that cut off point, it hits you faster and harder than when you're older. There were definitely times in HS when I got extremely s***ty from drinking without ever intending to get THAT drunk, mainly because I just didn't know how my body would handle that much (was drinking rum out of a full solo cup, finished it within an hour. Needless to say I was puking in about an hour after that). Back to the rape case, seems like they got off pretty damn easy. Yup
  19. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 16, 2013 -> 09:28 PM) Cowley, reporting from moms basement There is nothing to see here, I repeat, nothing to see +1
  20. QUOTE (Jake @ Mar 16, 2013 -> 08:08 PM) I'm sure Steve knew what he was getting himself into, and like they said at RealGM....not much to lose Except Balta will murder him.
  21. "They're far outside the sphere of people who have actual access to Rose and the Bulls, so they're probably just fishing for web hits. There is no credibility to this until the story is sourced and reported by a reputable party, rather than one reporting hunches as facts, with nothing to lose if (when) they're wrong." RealGM does not like Steve. "Even more than that, is anybody prepared to trust that Steven H. Eric has scooped all other reporters? His other posts have included fantasy basketball, fantasy football, TV shows, video games, and something called "Lebron James heroin." http://flapship.com/author/stevenheric/ Obviously Derrick really could return against Denver, and I sure hope that he does, but my guess in this case is that Steven H. Eric has misread the online buzz and taken it for fact. Then he reports it back to people who are reading the same buzz that he is." Oh snap, full name. I trust Steve on this though.
  22. Curse you Steve...I want to go back to sleep but I can't now.
  23. But for real, Steve, source? I believe you, I just need to know you didn't take McGraw's tweet and run
